Cheers guys for the replys, yup I’ll just man up and put them in the container along with the bike, got a 700 and a 500wh battery so no point selling them and end up buying only 1 in Canada.

Running 2.6 Hillbilly BD front which has great grip but draggy and 2.6 Eliminator rear, fast rolling and surprisingly good grippy, might try Eliminator front once it dries up

I have PTSD and going out on the MTB makes a huge difference to me, it gives me motivation and a purpose, when my PTSD was at its worst I could even leave the house.

I am now lucking enough to be supported by the Army which allows me to go out on the bike as part of my recovery process.. I’d be lost and go back to hell if I didn’t have my bike

Ive bitten the bullet and spoke to Graham and bought a rear Sixth Element for now, purely as Tracey said for the lifetime guarantee.

Happy days … Bring on Kinlochleven.

Just checked with Blackwater hostel there and there are not allowing camper vans there this year ! shame as it was really close.

Is there any other place close by to stay in the camper van ?

Absolutely it’ll be a great way to finish the year as starting the year at MacAvalanche was mental !

I firstly tried the backer rod and found it gave no support at all, I then bought and tried the Airliner ‘ I needed something strong as I do smash the rims a lot ! Airliner is much more denser than the backer rod and offers more support and does actually act like a run flat as I found out at this years Ard Rock when I slashed my rear tyre dropping into S3 and made it all the way down to the Finnish.

I’ll continue to use it now as it does actually work

I’ll be keeping my eye out for some cheapish winter boots as thats probably the best way to go as I do a lot of riding during the winter and the slop that goes with it.

I’ll just for now get some MT500’s and size up for now and hopefully they will survive a weekend of Kinlochleven Enduro as that will be a good tester.

    Thanks for the advice

Another decent race, disappointed that they binned S5 due to people complaining about the transition up to it ! and blaming the weather for the closure instead ?! its racing ? Not so very Naughty

S3 was the best, very loamy and super fast

I’m 14 stone @Trail_Rat , I used there 50mm backer rod but cut it in half and fitted onto 34mm rims’ I did find they did soak up a lot of the stans compared to the Airliner which it basically didn’t soak any.

Very impressed with the Airliner at the mo but previously sending a rim back once a month to be changed didn’t impress me much, and I’m using the new Halo Vortex rims

I used the backer rod and found it way too soft, and I did dink my rear new rim within a week’ when you compare the density of the backer rod compared to the Airliner theres a huge difference

I was hoping the backer rod would work and it didn’t, I still got 6 meters of it, which I better of making a pillow out of it.

The only issue with these various inserts (Huck Norris does fold down) is when you slash your tyre badly as I found out at this years ArdRock, I had to fit a tube in the rear then I had to lug the Airliner to S4 where I gave it to the Marshall and he Kindly took it back to the expo village where I collected it later.

I’m in for my sins again, its a bit loamy up here at the mo as my riding area is not far away, whatever the weather it’ll be good again plus theres some changes for some of this years stages, Shorty for less slides

Airliner ! worked for me, I had a puncture as soon as I dropped into S3 at this years ArdRock and I still pinned it to finish the stage, quite easy to fit and not heavy and doesn’t soak up the juice

23 mins in Grand Vets in the Enduro on a 2014 Spesh Enduro, could have gone much quicker but slashed my rear tyre on the start of S3 ! Gutted

Good race on Saturday till my rear blow a hole right in the centre as I dropped into S3

But I fitted a vittoria Airliner which did its job great ! it got me from the top to the bottom and still caning it ! BUT

As the hole was too big to even plug I had to fit a tube so rendered the Airliner useless and then your stuck with it,

I managed to limp up to S4 where I gave it to the Marshall and I collected it later on in the race village

4th Ardrock and 1st puncture so can’t really complain and limped in 24 mins after loosing loads of time on S3

Ive done it every year now and always used DHF and DHR 3c and never had any issues but I do run them a few PSI more than I normally would ride elsewhere, or I could just be lucky
