Whatever next, no freewheel.. im starting a new micro niche…….octogoning..wheels with 8 sides (and solid tyres), just to make it a bit harder, i think this off road fixie thing must be for wimps.. I take it you’ve all removed the clutches from your cars aswell!!

just pull the rod out all the way, then engage the lockout with the compression dial..

opposing views as always, personally i think they are very well made tyres. Saying that I wouldnt put an XC or AM All Terrain on the front unless I wanted to die, tried em, not nice when you push hard…

Apart from some more complex shock innards Im amazed anyone actually pays to service their bike… why not do it yourself??

I really wanted to like my Nevs (2.1s) and they were pretty grippy but for me no matter what I did with tubes and pressures they would pinchflat every time I nailed a rocky section, normally I would get some air and then wait for the landing woosh as they pinched, hated them with a vengence.. was on a HT though..went back to verticals which do everything a 2.1 nev does but rolls faster and lets go slower…and they never pinch

ive run both over a 2+ year period, imho the red metals are far far superior in build and quality, been 100 percent bombproof, last well, crossrides are just inferior built, and heavier..

Strangest thing ive ever seen whilst riding was a pure white stag stood at the edge of a clearing with his head in the air….

I had 8 or 9 mtb frames in a 7 or 8 year period prior to buying my chameleon, one of the last pre ebb models, ive had it over 3 years now and wouldnt even think about changing it for anything. ive never sat on a bike that felt so immediately right and planted..for me..best bike in the world..(although I quite fancy a go on a soul)..

Had a gti for 3 years, done 40k in it with only routine servicing and maintenance, pretty nippy but not the most inspiring car to drive. nice interior too. avoid 2.0 gti as they are oilburning slouches, v5 is very heavy and juicy, go for a 1.8 turbo or non turbo, both good 20v engines…watch for window mechanisms that drop, dropped doors on 3 door models, rear beam bushes and any hesitancy which could be a throttle body….good cars, ide buy another..

Ive got Viewranger on a Nokia 5230, bought the custom tile set in Landranger, for £20 I got most of the south coast, sdw, surrey hills etc, snowdonia park and some other spots i ride in….have you looked at buying the maps this way? seems really cheap to me..In use it is amazing, i cant praise it highly enough, its intuitive and accurate, far superior to other phone based stuff ive tried. best 20 quid ive spent in an age…

This was exactly my experience with hope too, i think the newer bearings are inferior…..last set of xt hubs i had lasted 6 years of twice a week riding, were smooth as silk when i sold em

Well the guy says in his post that he prefers his 100mm /€80 forks on his 12yr old hardtail. I think if most people that bought MoCo revs had a similar experience to this with them then RS wouldnt be selling any forks and there would be alot of people posting here about how bad they are. So it seems obvious that he has some type of service/setup problem rather than poor performance due to the inherrent design of the forks. I appreciate MoCo has its limitations and BB can feel more controlled in some situations but a well setup MoCo Rev should obviously feel alot better than some old budget fork..

Just read this again…. if your rebound damping is set fast and they are still packing down it,s probably a lack of lube in the top of the left leg. If this seal is a bit dry it sticks and stops them rebounding properly, gf had some recons that did it, plus my my 2010 revs had no oil in the top of the left leg, just a blob of grease. let the air ou of them them whip off the top of the left leg (24mm socket) should be 6ml of oil in their, i bet they are dry….

dunno why everyone thinks dt forks are so stiff? i know my older xmc130’s werent particularly stiff at all for a qr fork..

tbh I run both black box an motion control and the difference is noticable on some stuff but its a subtle improvement. moco revs are ace if set up right, as youve been told, do a lowers service and add a bit of compression damping…

Also, if you are going to sharpen it make sure you file down the rakers on the chain also, unsafe to use a saw with rakers at the wrong depth…

As a qualified tree surgeon with the silly bit of paper to use a limbing saw i can tell you that you would be a ****t to use that on the ground.. the speed of it kicking back at you as you swing it around with one hand would be scary enough but you would probably have it stuck in your neck.. buy a groundsaw and read some info on safe use… i’ve seen 3 apparently competent and qualified people have pretty horific accidents using a limbing saw..can literally remove your arm in a flash…. use both hands

Another vote for the Chameleon and I too have no issues with a bad back, longest ride ive done in a day on it is the SDW, 100+ miles, had a sore bum but not back…and it jumps! Stiffee is a bit more hardcore and if anything the more harsh of the 2…

+1 for Cyrus, been running a fully pxsr’d setup for a while. Blows me away. Bear in mind that Cyrus aftersales is excellent, the stuff really is futureproof well built and you can get spares/repairs and service done really quickly and reasonably. One of the best outfits i’ve dealt with…

They are nice, had a set of XMC130TA’s for a bit, nice and plush and feel good on the trail, if i was nitpicking ide say they were a bit slappy on fast washboard type stuff, looked cool too although the carbon ones do mark quite easily….the thing i couldnt get over though was that ultimately for me Revelations were better performing and much less hasstle to keep serviced..although the dt intervals are about the longest..nice but wildly overpriced for what they are..

Having done snowdon on both ide go for the soul, dont really find it a hang on for grim death quite on a ht, just better although a bit slower..
