Wishing the op all the best along with Rustler. If you are anywhere near Warminster I’d be chuffed to get out for a pedal and brew. Email in profile.

Take both. FS would be my choice though.

I once read a COSHH data sheet for barrier cream, I was supposed to wear latex gloves before applying it. H and S legislation is of vital importance in the workplace but taking it too far devalues it in the eyes of the employees and causes resentment.

I ordered the steel axel in the above eBay link and it’s fine with my Switch Ultra rear.

For those of you considering a T6 avoid the 150 DSG. A colleague of mine has one and it’s spent more time back at VW than on the road. It’s an issue with the adblue system which causes the engine management light to come on. So far after four or five roadside recoveries VW are none the wiser and relying on Germany for diagnosis. He’s at his wits end with it.

I owned a ’96 Kilauea and should never have sold it. You need that retro Kona in your life.

The parts and accessories bit interests me. Has anyone brought a nice new set of road wheels via the scheme? Who’s ‘flexible’ with this sort of purchase?

I have one, but not currently in use. I love the SDG saddle but it is much firmer than a railed saddle.

Thanks Cougar, I’ve seen loads of PC vs Mac threads in the past but didn’t want to turn this into one.

Reading back I can see why you’d sat that Cougar. I’m not a troll, never have been never will be- Go over my post history. I’d asked as we have both Mac and Windows in the house and the MAC OS is a version of Linux? Someone posted previously that we should ‘use Linux’ hence my post. I don’t want to start any sort of MAC vs PC debate but would like to know what is better for my online banking.

Just curious…. So lesson here is use a Macbook and Safari to do the online banking rather than windows and Chrome?

I chatted with a firefighter once, he told me a similar story. Guy turns up at A and E with a metal ring on his wanger. It’s been on for three days, is now the size of a can of Stella, reddish purple in colour, starting to smell and every time it’s touched it hurts intensely. A and E staff can’t remove it so the Brigade are called out. It’s removed with no issues. When asked how it ended up on his old chap “My friend put it on there whilst I was asleep…..”

I wouldn’t bother. The hub flange will fail eventually. I have a pair of crosslands sat in the garage that I don’t use. The rear is fine but the front hub is a write off as the flange failed and cracked.

I’m not watching it, it’s on in the background. Enjoyed the Ferrari bit but rest is dull.

@Milkie- Seatpost has to come out, it’s one of those old fashioned non dropper ones. If you have a dropper you’d be ok. Not tried to put it in with both wheels out but I think there’d be plenty of room.

I’ve done three- Eastnor and Gatcombe as a team of four. I enjoyed them but this year instead of Mayhem we’ve booked a fully catered weekend at CyB as we fancied something different. I’ll miss the whole Mayhem weekend atmosphere and riding a lap as the sun comes up, but look forward to riding terrain that is a bit more interesting than grassy fields.

Yes, on a Mavic Crossland. Straight pull spokes, more or less the same as above. They’d had an easy life but we’re out of warranty. Won’t buy a Mavic wheelset again.

I drive a 57 plate E87. I can fit my large Horsethief in the back with the seats down, seatpost out and the front wheel off. It’s tight but workable. Never tried two bikes before I’d say you’d manage it.

Interesting summer holiday. I live ten mins away from there but I’m not sure its a holiday destination. Can you be a little more specific with your plans?

The gearing question is separate to the handling one. A little less weight is always a bonus! The nine speed kit I have is getting on a bit and I won’t be able to replace it like for like, so I have to make the jump to 10 or 11 speed at some point. I’m not sure which.

Wheels do need looking at- I’m still running inner tubes (remember them!) so going tubeless is the next step. I just want the bike to be a little more nimble and flickable.
