    Yes, to me personally.

There hasn’t been a previous owner of this house since the mid eighties, I don’t think that’s the issue. I should add that this card was hand delivered and not posted. They sent someone here which is time and money. They must think they have something to go to that trouble.

Shock bushing. I had the same on my bike, when I picked it up there was a slight knock. 10 mins at TF Tuned (in Westbury, I assume you live fairly close if you’re riding at Windhill) and it was sorted.

I saw someone described Solemani as “The head of Iran’s Special Forces, CIA and Foreign Secretary all rolled into one.” Killing him may as well have been a declaration of war.

Saw it today with Beaker Jr (aged 8) he fidgeted for about the last 45 mins and I left underwhelmed.

Good luck to him. If he can’t already teach him to iron and start doing phys. The fitter he is prior to entry the better.

I’ve worked with former Submariners and its a complete commitment. Worst case is a three month cruise in a ‘Bomber’ not surfacing and extremely limited comms with home. If the Careers Office have to have an answer by the end of the day its not going to let him make an informed decision. If he has his heart set on the FAA the Submarine Service is very different. Don’t let the CIO railroad him by offering a different branch with instant entry when with a bit of time and patience he can do what he wants to do.

TF are awesome. I’m only 20 mins from them and they replaced my shock bushing in less than 5 minutes when I dropped by. Great service!

I’ve been using Diver Dave water repellent (search eBay for it) after it was recommended on here. I’ve used it on my waterproofs and shell layers and it beads water nicely. Not tried it on shoes but it’s bound to be worth a go. Diver Dave

I still have the big not jumpy not grumpy mug along with a tea ride fine china tea cup. Both in the locker at work as Mrs Beaker is an Emma Bridgewater collector and doesn’t like my horrible mugs in the cupboard next to hers…

I enjoyed it, worth a watch.

So I must hang my head in shame and admit defeat. I’ve been unable to do any activity for the last two days. I work a twelve hour shift and due to work load over the past two days I haven’t been able to take my lunch hour. I’ll pick back up today- great work to all of you that haven’t skipped a day yet!

That’s awesome, glad you’ve got it built! My Tranny used to handle the same, a great mix of XC and trail. The blue sets off the white perfectly.

Well done to you all so far…. the weather has been awful recently down here in the south. YouTube search cyclist yoga, it has been great for when the weather isn’t great.

I had no choice but to run in the rain earlier, if I wasn’t doing this challenge I’d never have got off the sofa and gone out. I had a great run and even though it hammered down it didn’t matter.

You’re not too far from me @countzero, I’m south of Warminster and we get aircraft buzzing over us daily. The FAA at Yeovilton transit past us on their way to and from the Plain, Boscombe Down isn’t too far away and the rotary wing squadron like the airspace above my house.

I seem to be running more than cycling…. But I’m really enjoying this challenge so far.

I’d like to see some pics when you’ve got it built. I’ve owned two bikes from Ibis and they were excellent. Enjoy your first ride!

I did two rides, then a brisk walk and today I was back on the road bike. I’m trying not to be lulled into a false sense of security with the weather…. I told a friend what I was up to and his first response was “what are you going to do on a wet November day?” I hadn’t thought of that far ahead.

I’m in, I’ve just joined the Strava group. I’ve ridden for the past two days and will have the odd run. Sadly I’m a terrible runner and don’t enjoy it….

I was there on Sunday. I was disappointed by the lack of big manufacturers attending and the retail zone was poor. 16 quid to park was a complete rip off and I won’t be going back next year. I went to the Bike show at Excel a couple of years ago and said that I wouldn’t go back.

Off on Sunday, and yes, stickers.

I’ve developed a wheat allergy since my late teens. Eating and drinking wheat causes hives all over and my face, lips and eyelids to swell. I have an epipen but I’ve never had any breathing issues. I can eat a small amount however and be fine but there as a certain amount that will tip me over so I avoid it. I now have to drink gluten free beer as normal beer will start me off.
If I go for a run it happens (possibly exercised induced anaphylaxis) as well so I have to take an anti histamine. It appears I’m allergic to running as it has never happened whilst I’m out on a bike.

I’d seen the Ikea ones, I hope to have a listen at the weekend.

I’ve a lot to think about. I hadn’t considered separates etc. More research needed…

I’d love a Zeppelin but its a bit too spendy. The Ikea/Sonos link up is interesting. I’m planning on going to John Lewis on Saturday to have a look at the Sonos stuff and then over to Ikea after. Is there a viable alternate to Sonos? I see Denon have a similar system….

I knew STW would come up trumps…. thanks for the posts thus far. I mentioned Sonos as my main choice for exactly the reason Footflaps mentioned- convenience. The other thing to consider is that the kit will be going in the living room which is Mrs Beakers domain. It’ll have to be unobtrusive!

I’m north of Shaftesbury and there isn’t too much here that I’ve found. My road bike gets ridden more than my mountain bike.

Miss Beaker has decided she wants to be a Vet and one option she’s thinking about is being an Army Vet. The bursary/scholarship option worked out something like 2k for going to 6th form, the 2k for the first three years of uni, 5k for the last two. Upon graduation (with allowance given for gap years) she would get 45k (taxed) and then spend two months at Sandhurst rather than 12 months and become a Captain on 40k pa. I think it was a minimum of 6 years commitment. I understand the same applies to medicine. Obviously there is the chance of spending times in hot and sandy or cold and wet places but it’s certainly something to consider if the military appeals.

I’m in but wavering. My start is half eight but I’ve got to get from my sisters place in Ealing to the start which is a major pain in the bits. Not sure if I should can it….

I’ll be there, as part of a team of five. You can’t miss me, I’ll be riding a bright orange Commencal hardtail. Fingers crossed for dry weather….

Again, thank you all for your input, I’ve spent the morning wandering around the local dealerships. The Kia Sportage was nice enough and the 7 year warranty is a big plus. I was ignored at Renault and Vauxhall, the Ford Kuga did nothing for me and the rattle from the drivers door when it was closed didn’t scream high build quality. The Tiguan and T Roc are out of my price range but were very nice and the Hyundai Tucson and IX35 looked ok and have 5 year warranties.

I have more research to do. Thanks STW

Thanks for all the input, it’s really appreciated. My commute is 40 minutes on A and B roads, not plodding up and down the motorway. I will certainly be looking at a Kia Sportage though, as stated above the warranty is very appealing.
