MM i'm living just south of Warminster. I only asked what you rode as I've seen a Cotic and a few other nice bike dotted about.

Anna, It depends really but mostly it depends on work and other commitments. I grew up in Warminster and theres a few rides around there that are ok.

There must be more than a couple of people that ride around these parts…. I'd certainly be keen on getting out in an evening.

I sent this thread to a colleague of mine who has a degree in Homeopathy. He sent me this reply…..

    A familiar argument!

If you want to throw the cat amonst the pigeons I can give you a link of a recently published study from Cuba involving 2.4 million people that were given homeopathy instead of vaccination against leptospirosis (a nasty tropical disease). The results were spectacular. 10 illnesses rather than 1000s

    Just thought I'd mention it!

    http://www.homeopathyeurope.org/news-and-press/news/stunning-cuban-experiences-on-leptospirosis

I can't do the linky thing though.

Tell them that instead of getting out on your bike you'll be spending all your spare time and money in your local, leading to weight gain and liver damage?

Sounds good to me, I'm looking forward to it.

Hi there, I've never had more than one bike in mine. Take both wheels out and the seatpost and you'll be fine. The 325 is great car by the way…. I'm about to sell mine- interested?

I can second the Lamb…. it's my local and Mrs B used to work behind the bar when she was younger. Not only that It's less than 5 mins off the A303.

I stopped buying bike mags a long time ago. It seemed that I was reading stuff in a magazine which I'd seen on the internet weeks before. Not only that I've been biking since '93 and mags seem to be repeating the same stuff every couple of years…..

I can't help but feel it looks a little retro. It looks like an old school full sus but I can't think which one.

I thought the same, I was amazed by his attitude. Three weeks of 16 hours a day on your feet and he thinks he'd be able to walk through his blisters. His stupidity looks to have cost him dearly.

Set a trap…. something like a glass coffee jar set at an angle propped up with books or something with food at the bottom. Little Hammy has to climb up to the top, tries to get the food slides in and can’t climb back out.

From what I recall from my time with the RAF if you were on a 25 meter range you’d pick up the empty cases. If you were on exercise on a training area and got ‘bumped’ you’d fire back. Picking up ejected cases in the middle off a firefight isn’t exactly top of the list of priorities.

We went with hips4u.co.uk, quick and cheap! I think they came to less than £200.

    Good luck selling.

Have a look on the western edge of Salisbury- Mrs Beaker grew up in a little village 20 minutes from Salisbury. Most of the villages are quite picturesque(sp?). The Woodford valley (north of Salisbury) puts Salisbury Plain in fairly easy reach

Have you had a look at the check a trade website? My boss went through them to find his kitchen fitter. The tradesman has to pay to register and then the customer puts any comments upon comletion of work. Worth a look perhaps?

Quite right as well. I have the pleasure of working with Gurkah soldiers on a farly frequent basis. I can’t think of anyone more deserving to have a permanent right to stay in this country. Ayo Gurkhali!!

I brought a set when they were on offer at CRC. I can’t say they made a huge amount of difference to the feel of my brakes (Hope minis). You’ll certainly need a vice to get the ends crimped on.

From what I recall the church at the village was fenced off as it was just behind the houses where the troops train. You can have a good nose around the training area though when it’s open

I went through Locking in 97/98 and have many fond memories of Montana Joes and Steamrock. I don’t think there was a much better station in the RAF.

Richc- the steering wheel may have been stolen for the airbag. I heard that it is a quite common thing to steal.

My Mum lives in Westbury and two years ago her ginger and white cat was run over. Teshi (don’t ask) was a ten year ginger who was happiest when out and about. He was my little mate from 1997 until I left home in 2002. He was knocked down and although he survived he was in a bad way. The driver of the car brought him home to my mum and an hour later he was put to sleep. We couldn’t have ago at the car driver, there was nothing he could’ve done. I bet it wasn’t the first time Tesh had had a close shave with traffic. The kindest thing that driver did was bring him back home. There would’ve been nothing worse than not knowing what happened to him.

I guess as mutch as it hurts loosing a pet cat, it is something that is always possible.

Get up on to the white horse and enjoy the view! There is a nice ride along the top of the ridge toward Warminster and then down to the field barn near Upton Scudamore and then follow the landrover track uptoward the barn at the top near the golf course. Its nothing technical but its fresh air in the lungs…..
