I sent an email to Garmin customer support asking them to unregister my 510. I gave them them the serial number and it was sorted in a couple of days.

I download the PDF version and get it onto my Ipad via itunes. I have managed to get the app to work once and didn’t like the format.

I read the Trail Bike of the year thread and the What MTB mag review of the Zesty and was somewhat confused by the term ‘Handlestick’. Its stuff like this that made me stop my sub with them….

The Chinnook- 12000 near misses a minute. I had several flights on Wokkas last year. The most memorable one was watching the Pongo sat over the way from me getting whiter and whiter. Then watching him starting to heave. Normally the sick bags are located behind you but he didn’t have one. Fair play to him though, he started talking welsh into his glove rather than over the bergens and kit in aisle in front of him. The worst bit was the smell that started circulating….
As the rotors turn in opposite directions (thus negating the torque effect) they do contra rotate.

A colleague of mine used to leave his lunchbox in the communal fridge. In the lunchbox was a Kitkat which started getting nicked on a daily basis. One day said colleague had enough of this and took his Kitkat to the bog. Whilst in the bog he wiped his (chocolate) starfish with the Kitkat. This was when they were wrapped in foil and easy to unwrap and wrap back up. He put it back in the lunch box and got on with his work. Lo and behold it wasn’t there by lunch. He let it be known that afternoon what he’d done. The rumour was that one person went very pale when told and the Kitkat never went missing again.

Sounds like you’ve been a top dad! Wait until you get to see him pass out from basic training, its a very special day. He’ll still need his old man for a while yet… oh and +1 for joining the Army Cycling Union.

Hello CG! Been a while hasn’t it? I’m overseas with work (won’t be too specific on location needless to say it’s hot) and only get home every few months. Roll on next R and R.

When I’m in the UK (i work overseas)I live just south of Warminster. Been there since my early teens and Salisbury Plain is where is started biking. I don’t ride there often enough now.

I brought a pair of Park cable cutters in 1996 and I still use them. They still cut like they are new. Recommended!

I’ve just got home (just south of Warminster) after working overseas and I’m trying to man up and go for a ride. I can’t face muddy trails and the inevitable hours cleaning afterwards. The road bike is looking so much more appealing right now….

I assume your Edge has the same half turn locking system as mine.

When I was in the RAF working at Lyneham the highlight of a nightshift was rallying the Corsa van around the perry track (around the airfield perimeter). You had to be careful as you didn’t want the muppets up in air traffic seeing you attempt to copy Colin McRae. The Chief Tech wondered why the tracking was always needing to be done….

Same unit, same chief oddly enough. Has a very heavy night and comes into work feeling worse for wear. It just so happens I have some Alka Seltzer in my locker. Being a nice chap I offer a sachet to the Chief and he accepts and knocks it back. Ten minutes later the OC and the Chief have a meeting to go to. They don’t get far before the Alka Seltzer works it’s magic and he spews up everywhere in the van. He misses the boss but ends up out on the grass in front of the main terminal building chundering everywhere. I wasn’t too popular for a day or two after that.

I had a 323ci which I brought with 100k on the clock and it started to get expensive. I had the bushes on the front done, a new wheel bearing and a couple of other bits needed attention. I got rid of it as there was major work that needed doing at around 110k. New radiator and corroded brake lines were the major jobs that needed doing. Best car I ever owned though….

The oddest thing I ever found on a ride was six Gurkahs setting up their bivi’s on either side of the singletrack I was on….. I felt quite rude hammering past them.

My moggie did a DIY claw removal using the extractor hood grill after jumping off the top of the kitchen cupboards. She had to go to the vet but she’s fine.

I lived in Hampshire. As much as it pains me to say it, I’d sooner live up north if it was purely a cycling decision.

Twenty years ago it was a bright yellow Townsend 10 speed bag of nails. Eighteen years ago I got my first proper mountain bike, a GT Talera which my mum brought and I paid her back at 5 pound per week. In no time it was dripping in purple anodised bits.

I can’t, you should buy one. It’s all cycling after all. I have precious little time to ride as it is, so to be able to have a ride and put the road bike away as clean as it went out is great. Buy buy buy!
