I had a three series coupe when Miss Beaker was a couple of years old. Her seat was a pain to move between cars admittedly but it was workable. What’s the harm in seeing how you get on before buying a new car?
I had similar with my Maverick shock. It was a slower leak than yours but I put it off for ages and kept topping it up. I eventually sent it off and it came back working like a brand new shock and it changed the feel of the bike. Don’t put it off, get it serviced.
Miss Beaker has just started riding a bike with gears (21 of them!) and has no problems. She has only used gears 1 to 7 so far but it has opened up her eyes to getting out further on a bike. The shimano Revoshift shifter she uses has such a light action. I hope to get her up to Swinley this week!
I’m a shade under six foot with a 32″ inside leg measurement. I rode a 19″ frame (a Kilauea) and it was perfect for me. It was also one of the finest handling bikes I’ve owned.
Ideally enjoyed my trip up there today. This is the first time I’ve ridden it since it all went one way and I thought it was ok. It was quite nice to put the bike back in the car with a little dust on it for a change….. Back in a couple of weeks I think!
A friend of mine was supposed to be collecting her new road bike from them at the weekend and got to the shop to find it had closed. She drove thirty mins to get there and had no idea that they had closed down. She then had a day of faffing around trying to spend her cycle to work voucher elsewhere. It is a shame to see them go but they had tailed off a fair bit from their 90’s heyday. As mentioned above Cadence are well worth a visit.
I used to work in that shop! Back when it was at the mini roundabout. There is some riding on the western edge of the town but not a huge amount. It’s not a bad small market town otherwise.
This quote is from Tour de France winner Fausto Coppi. When asked for the three most important tips he could give to someone wanting to improve in cycling, his reply was, “Ride the bike, ride the bike, ride the bike!”
You’ll have to give them to me. They are very likely to explode if ridden off a curb…… They’ll be fine around a trail centre unless you are a total loon.
