The Dad with his daughter sound scouse to me?

Neither party comes out well IMO, and I hope driving offenses come to both too.

Ahhh.  Cheers – yep,  I need the shortest one which feels like the least value for money due to length. Ha!

Understand what the pins are for in the wee bag of gubbins now.  Thanks!

    Done.  And echo mechanicaldope’s comments.

    All the best.

So it looks like I’m looking at a BH59 J SS kit.

SS is presumably straight/straight connectors.  What’s the J for anyone?

Was thinking that myself Simon! Haha!

Gotcha.  I’m guessing because of the inner diameter.  Thanks for this.  I’ll stick with the 59 then.

Hopefully ill I’ll get the right connectors etc in the kit.

Thanks Simon.  Is it as simple as that? I’m  sure I’ve seen bh90 dura ace hose somewhere?

Yeah. Thoughts to staff. Were really great every time I went in.

Also noticed the mechanic (Jay?) who used to work in Cycle Surgery Selfridges was working in there. Nice guy.

    Good luck for future.

Thanks. It may be an option to swap with. Seen it for circa £62 for mech and £53 for cassette. Not bad really.

Should have said, have the 9100 mech already! Too good a price. Only ever owned one xtr mech and usually make do with x9/ SLX on the mtb in case of rock/mech interfaces!

Thought I’d treat myself on the road build.

I’m still running into old metal cat eye holders in the surface at Aspenshaw. Shocking.

Genuinely don’t understand why they’ve done it

So we can brake on a six pence after chipping down the descent at Mach 10?

Seriously though, I’m slowing up at that tarmac bit after descending through the golf course, anticipating horses/red socks coming from the right . This work may facilitate bike users keeping speed up at that point. Just like speeds were way faster down strawberry descent after they widened/fattened it last time, meaning less capable riders flying down a smooth section of trail which was loose with chippings and difficult to stop without skidding etc. Doesn’t help user conflict IMO.

Yep. That’s what I thought. Whilst appalling – let’s hope they don’t start creeping up the hill.

I’m guessing the tarmac is the cheapest option.

    Cheers nbt.

Grew up in Marple area and ridden round there for years and never used Lily Bank. Always used the track next to New Mills Golf Club, out of Brookbottom to gain elevation.

As an aside, do we know if anyone is organized with ensuring work is sensible round this area/wider area from the mtb community? I’ve spoken to SMBC a couple of times with varying results. I think it would be prudent to be on the front foot. Whether PDMTB would ever get involved is another question too as it’s probably out of their area to a degree, though we know they have been speaking to NT re Lyme.

Appreciate it’s not at Rushup level, but it is important for local riders.

    Thanks for this. Appreciated!

Could you explain again the lily bank trail – and exactly where they are laying tarmac. Apols if I’m being a tad slow! Is this from the straight trail alongside the golf course, which then crosses the golfers walk through and ends at the T junction (which is either right and north towards farm/under railway/towards Roman Lakes or left and south towards strines?)

I’ve been onto SMBC about their work in the area before. It’s really disappointing.

I understood that the only geo change was to shorten the rear end a little bit. Read/heard nothing about change in head angle. That coming from Mason themselves?

    Congrats Bluedynamo!

Before you retape, try taking the valve out and smearing a bit of Vaseline on the base of the shaft/bung before reinsertion 8)

I do this every time I’m setting tubeless up now as I’ve had small leaks around the valve before.

Have you totally written off the Mason? It shouldn’t be long until the v2 Definition is out there.

I did see a swanky Mason Bokeh built with a flat bar recently.

    Ordered up with Biketreks.

Emailed Mason themselves too. Understand it’s ready for preorder.

Similar boat. I’ve been aquiring parts for 12 months and have been waiting for Mason to go flat mount. Almost tempted by some of the discounted Merckx in Merlin. Obviously not so four season but di2 hydro ultegra, carbon frame for £1700. A few other things nearly tempted me away from what I was waiting for. Ordered a Definition 2 a couple of weeks ago. Delivery expected early/mid November, possibly December. Can’t wait but I’m in no crazy rush as I’ve waited for ages. By the sounds of it, the definition 2 may be slightly racier to broaden the gap between it and the resolution (which I understand is going to be really hard to change to flat mount and through axle without losing the ride quality).

It’ll be my only drop handle barred bike and ideal for what I want it for.

Sad news. I always thought he was really talented.

‘Is that two ‘T’s in machete or just one?’

Ok. So the Mason Definition has gone to flat mount. Tempting…..

But, those Merckx bikes are still very good value on the face of it. And Merlin selling 2017 bikes recently into stock. 1700 for the sellanches 64 disk, di2 ultegra, carbon frame etc, somethintg like half price!

Anyone know anymore, or bought one? just wondering about max clearance/guards and Merlin aren’t great speaking about details on the phone.

    Controversial…….

But the only item of Vulpine kit I own is a pair of their merino long socks. Spotty design and toasty warm. They almost reach my knee though!

Look great choices. Thanks all. I’m sure we have stopped at that M&S before. Is it next to an outdoor shop with a kids soft play inside? Genius. That’ll be a long stop in case we fancy going a bit further before the stop.

Fish and Chips winning at the moment. Looks perfect! Mrs Beagles fave too.

Gleneagles has been recommended to me before, may have to wait until kids can eat dinner without sending it in a two metre radius around them! Sounds/looks great.

    Cheers folks – much appreciated!

    Cheers For replies thus far.

Yes – chakaping. Mason Resolution on top of list, but waiting for flatmount rear on that as I have brifters ready to go. The Merckx is tempting but less four seasony I guess.

Just something for long days, fairly versatile as it’ll be my only drop handlebar bike going forward.

Tempted to stump up for a J. Leverack J.Ack as well or wait for the ti version of the Resolution which coming next year.
