There were a couple of pairs on pinkbike recently. I missed out on both :-( too slow.

    I’m considering new from Germany.

Anyone else know much about 2021 availability?

A buddy pre-ordered a Reactor29 comp a couple of months ago. Was told last week for pick up – now being told 10-14 days (from the shop he ordered via).

Odd as I’ve seen the posher models in other shops.

Took my 18” load rated alloys off the van last year. Went for decent steels and new rubber. So much nicer to drive.

Me neither. PIZZA!! Cheers DrP. EDiT – just noticed sharkbait’s response may have been sarcastic. Mine wasn’t!

Yeah. As thought, probs a bit too big. I’ll reduce the size. My wood ‘in’ peel is the size of my pizza so doesn’t allow too much shaking pre-launch.

I suppose there is no shame in a little rolling pin use 👍

Cheers. Appreciated. I do the latter also, but an struggling to get anything remotely circular.

Those with Koda model (12”) what size pizza’s are you making? From what weight doughball? I’ve been on 240/250gm doughball but getting impression they may be too large.

I’ll second what Drac says. Lovely. What technique is everyone using for stretching them?

Does frustrate me this. Would it be too much trouble for an extra line on the sign of ‘pedestrian/cycle access?

ION SAS Tech. Not their stickers but the stuff they make the knee pads from. Self adhesive. About 35 quid. Excellent stuff. I’ve had lots of rock bangs – it absorbs the impact too

Yep – just come on to try again! No joy. Grrrr!

What sort of money were the Pikes Joe?

Hoping to upgrade my Hardtail with the DT swiss (from Yari RC) but am a big fan of Rockshox. Thinking 140mm or 150mm without the remote.

Considering upgrading the damper from the Yari but at this price it appears to be a no brainer.

I just made a point of wearing my Howies ‘Love me, Love my bike’ tee shirt a lot during our earlyish time together.

Any complaints, I refer her back to the photos 😝

Clicked on here to read some interesting takes on the season ahead. Pretty sure there was a Maguire thread the other day 🙄

    Love this.

Make sure you eat at the Thai takeaway in Morar BTW.

Came on to recommend those that Phil did. We have a few weighty things round the house with no issues whatsoever. The applicator gun makes it quite an enjoyable experience too 😁

Great brakes. As above, I found spares pricey – I had a couple of things break on the lever, clamps which were ‘designed to fail’ in the event of a crash but spares hard to get.

‘Ventana lockdown build’ sounds interesting – any pics? What you building? 👍

As above. If you have time – with the VERY tightest combos in addition to a rim pact/cushcore I’ve left the tyre in the airing cupboard in a plastic bag with a hot water bottle. Left overnight, a doddle in the morning!

Acre Hauser? Pricey but comfy and cool on the back.

Only flew a handful of times but one of my most exciting childhood moments was seeing the NASA space shuttle piggybacking a 747 from my bedroom window. Bonkers thinking it about it now (Close to Ringway flight path, early eighties). The concords became a bit Meh after that.

You’ll probably find the Glazers have a better human rights record though. Just a thought.

Ion SAS-Tech frame protection. Pretty thick, self adhesive incredibly impact resistant 👍

Pop along to see James at the Bike Garage in The Hope Valley. He has a Trek Hire/Demo fleet and has a huge knowledge on the trails in the area. He’ll sort you out with a loop.

Get a Peak ride in whilst demo’ing?

Edit – just noticed the ebike bit too. James has a few in and sorts the local ebikers (most on a trek!) out well. Noticed recently he’d just dealt with an old warranty claim super fast. He’d be my first port of call. Nice guy who also does a lot for the local riding community. Check his Instagram account out for ebike/trek stuff 👍

Yeah. Thanks for those replies. Seems to correlate with my initial thoughts.

DD it is then. Though I am hesitant to spend my hard earned on Maxxis. Circa 125 quids worth of DHR2 EXO+ on the bike at the moment, one with a deformation and one a couple of hours old with two significant splits. Arse.

    Wild enduro then?

Read the thread this week just after spending 64 on a new EXO+ DHR2 in 29er flavour. Split close to bead and one further up the carcass. FFS. Feeling the sidewalls, it does feel thinner than the first EXO+ casing model I had (27.5), which seemed bombproof with a rimpact. 2.5 hours riding is frustrating. Then fitted a spare I had which is 3 months old and I’ve noticed a distorted carcass.

How did everyone get on with getting the carcass distortion warrantied?

If you are a Vision Express Customer or know one – contact lense subscription etc, a 50% off voucher was sent out at the start of the COVID stuff to redeem against any pair of sunglasses. They stock a limited amount of Oakley.

I think I’m with qwerty, as I’m just about to go with an ex471 rear, ex511 front build. Harder usage than OP. Hopefully no pootling on this bike.

Yep. Same. Had a warranty issue on some brakes bought via eBay. Dealt with superbly. Quick hassle free, friendly communications. Again, over and above experience.

Cheers All. Food for thought. Interesting re rimpact and the potential downsides of fitting. Maybe it could be a bit more supportive on a slightly narrower rim. Hmm

I just feel the industry pushing wider is not necessarily the only/best way.

Thought about 481. But really want the strongest I can get too. Had enough faff with a recent wheelbuild on a flow mk3 which went baggy on first ride, then after shop re-tensioned, went baggy again and out of shape, both on the first non tech downhill of the ride. Different shop building it up this time (NWMTB).

Cheers for inputs thus far, v useful.

Ta for that. No squirming since running rimpact, which I would continue regardless. I’ll be coming from a flow MK3 though which is similar width to the 511.

I treated mini beagle to a kids one. So big thanks from her OP. Appreciated! However for those that missed out, I posted last month about runningxpert and their prices wondering if they were legit.

I bought a Fenix 5 plus X, sapphire glass etc, for 399 including shipping. Which is a steal. It’s an awesome watch too and still way cheaper than the Garmin offer. It was all boxed and brand new.

And where was the 36 from? Which model. Sounds like a good price that!

Good work! New fork for the hardtail before winter for me I think.

Nickc – do you mean the Chromag BZA? That’s what I’m running and hoping for even more comfort.

Didn’t know they did OSX in carbon. Will check.

Code is working for me now BTW.

    beagle

Anyone else tried that code. Not working for me. Gah!

Thanks for posting though. Up with this sort of thing!

Yeah. Cheers for the reply. It’s a Mason – 160 front and 140mm rear. I’m 83kg and 140mm front and rear seem fine For UK. I’ve not had it on alpine descents etc.

I found it odd re RS685/RS785 as I though this was just a branding thing when Shimano started putting their group set tiers to the hyrdro bits.
