Bike Garage is a cracking resource. James is a top bloke and super helpful for hire fleet and route guidance etc.

^ I think it was a play on the Sea Otter Coverage 😁

It’s on the list! Fidden Farm – especially with the kids being that little bit older. Update this thread Doug please 🙏 and enjoy!!

I think it’s a bit of a minefield. I’d listen to the Downtime podcast episode with Rob Copeland as a starter. He gives some advice for finding the right person to meet your needs. He’s an inspirational chap too.

    Lack of storage perhaps?

I picked up a Patagonia dirt roamer relatively cheap. If I lost/damaged it I’d be buying another immediately- even at full price. I’ve never over/under heated in it, quick drying too. Packs small, relatively lightweight.

Cheadle Village? If yes, don’t miss the Indian Tiffin Rooms. If you are a light sleeper, pack your earplugs as you’re right on the flight path for the airport for a lot of Cheadle/Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle Heath. Sorry.

Yep. No classifieds, but I do have Singletrack Snow 🤷‍♂️

    Oh. And two ‘latest’ tabs.

Nice Podder from Andi Sykes (on his own, not STW) recently with Kieran – an interesting listen.

Some really nice touches and thought gone into the frame.

On the list when I consolidate FS and HT into one bike.

Like Letmetalktomark I’m also in the middle of a Warlock build. Helps that I’m using a few old bits too, 12×142, 100×15 (hope adaptors to 12mm). Boost would have been a bit more faff, as would be wheelsize, as I’m building it 650b initially with older wheels. Max is 700×48/50. I think that’s enough for me before overlap with a HT.

Not usually a huge fan of Cotic, despite respecting what they do, but if I hadn’t had the Warlock, I’d be ordering one immediately and dealing with the extra logistics. The Jeht would be on the list for a new FS too. Contrary to a few on here – I like the new branding. Top stuff.

Oi! My stuff was stealth black!!

Had good results with overland too. Especially their riding shirts (short and long sleeved).

A lot of the newer stuff is Chinese. The early stuff was made in EU (Poland I think). It was top drawer quality/sizing. Still have a couple of bits from that era. Washed well and lasted.

I really noticed when they shifted production.

Thanks All. Either Wheels Manufacturing or Hope then. I have the hope tool.

Cheers again for the replies. Much appreciated.

Chris – it’s going on a Warlock. If yours is the one I think it is – sweet build!!

That’s really useful HG. Just looking at UK sellers with stock. It appears they aren’t as efficient as our German friends, when it comes to a thorough, clear product description!

    Unanimous then?!!

    Thanks All.

Cheers HG. Friend has rotor one which didn’t last. Thanks for feedback on others. Not sure on the praxxis one. Will do some more research. Could turn into a stealth ad for Hope BB 🤣

Some Wolftooth but ones on sale at the moment. No experience of them though.

Hopefully moving my 27.5 P7 on after winter, for something 29 and even slacker.

On the look out for a Kona ESD frame – if they ever hit the UK. Moxie is nice back up if I can’t find the ESD. I’ve had two Chromags in the past, but harder/more expensive now with taxes etc.

    Love a good HT razz.

    Yep. I think it’s patronising.

As did one of my teachers back in 1989. Double detention for me then.

Some desperate negotiating going on I guess to get someone mad enough to go and follow the current line

    Ha. That’ll be nobody then.

Looks like they are inconsistent then. I’m medium in the normal one and i tried large in the hydro ones which were way too small. Went for XL in the end.

Cheers for that! Have you played with it much from demo day? Or set and forget? I have a full range of the CTS to play with but just getting initial travel settings set up first. Very tempted to upgrade to R version myself

Can’t help sorry – I have asked this before as I’ve looked to replace leaky rs685 flat mount calipers with the Magura flat mount ones. Be very interested to see how it works and whether you get any more useful replies than mine 😁

There’s a fair few small/smaller UK manufacturer’s making instant coffee – please don’t buy Nestle.

Quokka Coffee. One of the lads rides mtb too.

I can recommend wholeheartedly too. Mine have been excellent. Had a wee problem in the ordering process, but was all sorted quickly. As a result of that and also not sending a second purchase back, I have 2 spare splatter frames and a Smoke lens surplus to requirements. So, stealth ad, but if anyone wants a used four times splatter frame, with a perfect smoke lens with the same usage for £55 posted with the drawstring bag – drop me a PM. Could swap out the frame for a brand new splatter with white icons for same price. Much apologies for the spam!

If you want to borrow bits from the mtb – take a look at the surly corner bar, drop bar you can use mtb levers on. I’m sure they’ll be copies out soon which will be both cheaper and lighter.

    Faster Daddy, Faster!!!!

No, no, no, no, slow down!!

    Faster Daddy Faster!

The LOCT is best purchase ever. Actually feel really sad that I may get only a couple more rides in with my youngest. Then I’ll probably put up a wanted ad in the classifieds to borrow a toddler 😁

Norrona Trollveggan gore tex pro LITE.

No skirt, pit zips. Hood may be an issue. They also do a bike specific range. Quality very high.

Biketreks have a couple of models on sale. Not the trollveggen though

Yeah. As it reads on the web. And being on the edge of the zone – most of my journeys are away from Central Manchester, thus crossing the boundary.

I wouldn’t mind if everyone was doing their bit etc. As I said – some of the old 4x4s pavement parking and idling around school kick out time will rile me even more!

Oh. I know I’m in the zone! And I know (as per original post) that the wife’s car (and all private cars) will be exempt.

Interested to see if there are any ways I could keep it. Either change of class or convert to be compliant. Over ten years of love and care and happy memories in that machine.

No. It’s a Caravelle conversion – full width bench seat on rails/multiflex table/bed. Would need quite a lot more to convert and from limited reading, DVLA
process sounds onerous and hit and miss. Also, as it stands proposals will include all vehicles on that platform – including campervans!
