Couldn't find an email on their website . Just a phone number. Bit odd, but just wondered if anyone knew before I give them a call in the morning.

To be honest, I've only ever seen the colour once and i'm not sure whether its a custom colour?

Grew up there and lived there for 20 years and my mum was born there. I've lived in some swanky parts of Central London, Surrey, and York since mainly because of work. Can't beat a nice pint of robbies in a marple/mellor pub post ride. I'm back in the localish area now and it's great to be back. Used to work in the ringers! So much on the doorstep.

    This is scary.

Not one hour ago on the euston road, I saw a stunning blond in hotpants with knee high socks on, riding a fixie. Also wearing a tight vest. Wowza. Just like a cheerleader on wheels, without the pompoms.

Afternoon, Ive done mine – get a friendly bike shop in the US to order direct from Sram. RS spares are dirt cheap really and fishers seem to whack the cost up. Done this with replacement cages for SRAM mechs too and replacement lever blades on juicy carbons.

The top cap, spring assembly and another small part cost me about £45, even with recent exchange rates. Saying that, it was part of a larger order and the owner was getting some other business rather than just firing spares across the pond. Justification for some bling perhaps?

Never used them in Garda, they are club-giraffe – think it's an Israeli company. Stayed in a Giraffe hotel in morzine on a b&b basis. Dealings with them were effecient and organised. Don't know what their guiding is like, but I know they would entertain a couple of days as I was out for a wedding in Malcesine last year and enquired about it. I ended up hiking instead which drove me mad as the trails looked ace (especially around Riva, where I think they are based).

Nope. Everything standard. Surprised by it and a quote from Hiscox has it at £490 and their single item stuff looks good eg don't have to name anything up to £15k.

Had thought it would be a simple one stop shop to M&S but looks like I'll have to have a good shop about now :-(

This is really useful stuff. Thanks guys.

Looks like I may not be able to stretch to the 24-70 really.

Anyone have experience of the 17-40 f4L? I feel I'd not be getting a whole lot more lense than the 17-85 IS USM I already have. Hmm.

Cheers PP. I'll have a look!

I have no idea. I guess I'll have a look at ebay and see what they are going for?

I have little knowledge of 29er forks. Is there a chance this was a fork with a tapered steerer that someone has bought in error and tried to create a homemade normal 1 1/8th? Just a thought. I certainly wouldn't ride it. If I had no joy with the seller, I'd order a new CSU from the States. SRAM/rockshox parts are a fair bit cheaper there.

    Evenin'.

I went on my own a few years back at short notice, when I fancied a break and my riding buddies couldn't do it. Did a week in a catered chalet then moved onto 5 days with Endless Ride but only on a b&b basis. Met some dudes in the chalet, one who is a now a good mate. Saying that, I quite enjoyed the latter too, just riding and chilling at night with a book and a large glass of wine.

I'd say go for the b&b only option with one of the providers. Failing that, depending on how long you are staying for, I'd either ask about any seasonnaire accomodation, or just tell them what you require. I've stayed with 5 different set ups and they have generally all been flexible to our requirements. They may even offer you something they don't advertise.

    Good luck! :-)

    Good luck!

I love orange but would certainly not consider them boutique. Take Ventana offering frames for a price which not far off mass produced stuff. Everything bar the bearings made in-house (including the powdercoating now, so they have control over the quality), offering custom and semi custom geo, customer service where you speak with the main man, trade in programme – the list goes on. There are others in a similar vein too.

I've had warranty issues with big brands in the past. I'd rather them spend less on flashy advertising and more on basic customer service and support and REAL R&D – so they are not sending out poor product which is being tested by us! Grrrr.

Knolly Endorphin. Said it on another thread. Handmade, not mass produced, a1 customer service and if there are great deals from the uk distributor before the hike in prices. Also can reccomend ventana for similar reasons, but you mention the suspension design of the cove/kona, which is the same. Ventana are amazingly well put together and always have a very stiff rear end. IMO too many bikes are praised/dismissed because of the suspension design, when it's the execution of the design that matters. On a more sophisticated design front, Knolly's 4×4 linkage rides well and the endorphin is a perfect balance for the vast majority of UK riding I reckon. Pretty bompproof too.

Ridden a horst 5 spot, and turner come at things from a similar angle as ventana and I don't think you can compare the likes of turner, ventana, nicolai and knolly to mass produced frames when you are spending the same amount.

Wouldn't stop me buying an Orange 5 like a shot though. Rode one last month round glentress and I was really impressed.

Knolly endorphin. £900 will get you a frame from chris at riding high uk. They are due a large price hike in the new year. Excellent frame – reviewed in this months mbuk.

Go local. Knolly Delirium T. Updating it this year, but you'll get a cracking deal on the bombproof original version. Head angle and wheelbase adjustment on the original too. It's a great bike and very versatile depending on the build. Especially with the adjustments too. Bolt through rear option as well.

If u have any issues with it, knolly customer service is A1 and they'll be right round the corner when you're in Whistler.

Chris at riding high uk had some with big discounts too.

Drop us a line if u have any questions bud.

Hello mate. Feel obliged to post! Try a search for T5 forum, loads good info on there – especially on colour coding. I got my wheels from Race and Road. They usually have a few deals on. I went for some 18s which look like OEM and don't look too flash!

Essentially, HSBC have offered us a lifetime tracker and Halifax a 2 year tracker. The difference in the rate is only 0.1% (HSBC with the better rate). Booking and valuation fees are very similar.

Monthly payments are within £4 of each other, despite borrowing £3k less with HSBC – another thing I'm struggling to get.

Suppose I have to goo through the confusion in order to have a garage to tinker in!

    Love/Hate relationship here.

Agree with Samurai. If you are carrying speed round there, real speed, then its great. There are loads of jumps there. They don't have to be signposted to be jumps. Trouble is, if you're not carrying speed they will be ickle bumps, which will be just rolled over.

I don't expect a battering there – rocks, roots etc. However, I'm always suprised to see people rocking up on beefy 6 inch bikes, which look like being set up for the alps, with the owners padded up. Unless you are Mark Weir you're not going to pump/jump 35lb bikes around there. Thus, I agree with the MBR subscriber comment.

In summary, its great for a weekday blast when its quiet. IMO – avoid weekends at all costs.

NB. In addition, the disposal of used inner tubes into trees is not mandatory. Absolute throbbers.

A much discussed topic in the beagle household. Mrs Beagle does the Ginger/lime as above and it’s my fave. If I make it, I go for dulce de leche – a nice layer on top of the base and under the cheesey bit. Yum yum.

    Roger the PDF.

Downloaded the PDF generator and she’ll send both a PDF and a Word version. Never thought of that. Better get over and make a contribution, one was probably overdue anyhow.

U have made an awesome choice. Great bike. Regret selling mine. IMO best built with a pike, short stem and some fairly robust parts. Very versatile indeed.

Aye. Just moved to Stockton Heath myself, coming from the high peak area. It’s only temporary and I was sceptical, but it’s good, nandos, nice independent coffee shops, nice Thai place and a few routes for the CX bike. Wales a bit easier too and M6 handy. Serving it’s purpose nicely.

Area seems confused a bit though, equal amounts of scouse and Manc accents.

Hmmm. If there are 2 sizes, which I thought there was, it was the narrower ones. Aren’t they branded xc and fr? Defo the xc ones. Aren’t the wider ones for schreader?

The guys at Just Riding Along are your friends. Top website and nice guys.
