I swore not to use magura again after being a fan boi for years. I had two clamps break in seperate, very soft incidents. First, I ‘touched’ a tree with the lever and it broke at the clamp. Second, happened when the bar dug into a loamy section in the Alps at very slow speed leaving me on my holidays, with the only option of sucking it up and buying a 140 euro front brake, after driving around to find a shop. Magura said they purposely make them out of cheese so not to cause further damage. Fine, but at least make the spares easily available ( and priced reasonably). I would mind but I’m really fussy about not doing the clamps up tight!

Reliable performance and very powerful though.

At least when XT do go tits up you can replace bits on the cheap. I’d buy hope through choice, but run XT for £££ reasons…. (Though appreciate false economy situation).

Rear bench seat? Or the multiflex table?

Without the middle single seats (which I sold) I can slide the rear bench seat up to the captains up front with the leg space of a typical small saloon car rear. Take the front wheels off and the multiflex table out and I can fit 5 bikes without front wheel in the back, whilst safely seating five in the vehicle.

Without taking the wheel off and fitting length ways with the seat in but fully slid up to the captains… Edit I’ll go measure

178cm from back of seats to tailgate interior. Will depend on bike wheelbase and wheelsize. A twist of the handlebars and it’d be fine. I’ve often thought about putting a rack mounted to the rail system as you can source the bits that fit to the rail separately

Why wouldn’t you want to see the best international footballer in the world play in a major final?

Edit: and now I have a moth on our tv screen!! Arrrgh! They are taking over the world.

Cheers Stumpy. I guess I could always wait on the swelling on my knuckle joint (seems boney, not fluid) – see if that goes down!

See LHS point as I’ve had this too. T5 Kombi with dark rears – had a few snappy looks/getting pointed at from Mum’s in Sainsburys until I get out and slide the door back.

A Hay Designs kitchen roll dispenser as I’m always bitching about the old one we have in the kitchen, a selection of Williams Brothers Beers (just sunk a Good Times) and an IPA from Bollington Brewery. Also some Motezumas dark chocolate buttons (world class) and lunch bought for me with a couple of pints. World class day. Thanks Girls!

Went up there hung over on New Year’s Day 2000, waiting for the world to end with the y2k bug.

No gloves, hungover in jeans, hoody and leather jacket (all warm kit left on the floor at my mates pad). Bloody amazing – but chuffing cold.

    Take a scarf.

I’d plump for a Tomintoul 21 if you could get hold of some with your requirements. Very easy drinking reasonably priced 21 year old Speysider. Usually circa £60.

40’s weekend sounds ideal. I’d give that a whizz. Or try West Kirby/Park Gate for Beach . RSPB at Burton Mere optional if they like their wildlife. The first hide is next to the car park, comfortable and Spoonbills are present (with loads of other resident stuff). It’s 45 mins from West Manc. Then either a walk around the marine lake in West Kirby followed by fish and chips or a stroll in Park Gate avec obligatory Ice Cream.

Don’t go to Tatton, Geronimo is on. If the grumpy one isn’t into Mr Bloom and twenty thousand kids – sugared up off their tits, it may send her over the edge. Was there today. Lots and lots of queues – even just getting into the place.

    My two pence..

Mike Smalling off to Sale Sharks this summer. Jesses goal similar to the King’s goal in 96 – straight through the crowd. Great to see a lad who joined the club aged 7 get the winner.

Oh and nice to see Memphis all smiles at the end (however, I’m guessing a new roller on order).

    Time for another ale.

Your hedges need a trim on the driveway Flashy. Edit – beaten to it!!

Awesome stuff. My little one maybe 12 months from riding. Excited.

The onzas are nowhere near as beefed up as DD. That’s having riden both FRC and FRC 120 variants. The new EDC should be akin to Maxxis’ DD, no?

It’s staying on regardless of drag for the peak. Contemplating giving the centre tread a wee trim if it’s bonkers draggy. Ran a slaughter grid recently – even in the wet it was acceptable for usual dark peak and awesome in the dry.

Just picked up a double down aggressor from next day tyres. Like the feel of the side wall. Not mounted yet.

Mine was in peices before surgery on 24th Feb. June 2nd and should be good for Mtb. Been on road/cx for 4 weeks now. Felt tender riding at first but feels good in last 2 weeks. Been told it was a bad ‘un though, with a graft too. Feeling nervous for MTB. Feel like loamy wooded trails first, but my local stuff is mostly rock fest.

40 and half thought about selling the susser for a shand stoater. That was daft, so saving for stoater instead!

Grid carcass great. Been riding Peak with Onza Ibex too, but sidewall not as strong as Spesh grids.

If you are in Peak/NW and fancy trying the spesh out cheap….I have a pair Specialized 27.5 tyres – both grid carcass, both 2bliss and 2.3 width. Butcher used one ride only with tube, Slaughter used for late summer/early autumn last year and was fitted tubeless with sealant. £30 pair. Apols for high jack! Spam!!

Liking some of the new maxxis offerings too with the DD casing. Aggressor could be a nice sturdy rear tyre..

Lingard should be fined by the club for that getting out. Looks like a school trip rather than pros getting to the biggest game of their season. Love to have seen SAFs reaction should he still have been there or more so Roy Keane’s. Fair play to CBJ. All the players should have done likewise.

Was there recently too. Collar bone in four peices after a stack in the peak. Staff great at Stepping Hill.

Good luck with recovery. Think you said you were in Bramhall in the past – me too, shout if you need a bag of grapes and some lucozade!

Former Swaro EL owner and now Zeiss Victory. There are subtle differences between solid binos and excellent ones. Often very subtle, depending what you are looking at/light levels etc. Saying that, MIL bought some Hawkes for a wee bit over your budget, ie about £160 and I was really impressed. As above, Opticron are good value. Difficult if you are buying them for someone, but don’t discount how they feel in your hands/focussing wheel use etc. my zeiss are brighter than the swaros, but the swaros felt much nicer in the hand.

Yep – heard my first chiffchaff 8!or 9 days ago on my local patch south mancs.

On a semi related note now talking about urban birding etc, used to work in Canary Wharf and see regular Black Redstart on the roofgarden on my 12th floor office. About 20 feet away from my desk on the other side of the glass! Also saw peregrine pretty often bombing around after the pigeons. Was also a short eared owl on the second floor roof resting for a day (migratory I guess). Amazing birds in everyday places. Keep them eyes peeled!!!

Second the area south of mallaig, around arisaig and camusdarrach. Beaches truly amazing, great ww2 history in the area in a cracking little museum in arisaig, with very interesting Special Operations Executive bits in there. Yanks would love that. Easy, short trip to Eigg (climb An sgurr?) or Muck to experience island life. Visit Glenfinnan on the way too – great history stuff in stunning location and see the steam train pass over the Harry Potter viaduct!

I think Torridon (with a trip to Skye, via Plockton) would be great too, but the first suggestion is pretty accessible. And watching the sun go down over the islands from that part of the world is breathtaking.

Icycles closed till Thursday! Anyone remember the colour?

Wight Mountain can only get hold of new. RRP is pretty darn steep! Not sure if 699 or 599? It would be the yellow one!! Lush, but my fave is the blue.

Dartmoor dropping me a mail with a price for their used one. May have a bent fork.

Any more for any more? :-)
