I’m 150kg down from 169kg I would be getting anything this year maybe next I am just curious if it was possible. I have seen it might be worth having custom wheels built.

I used to fly electric aircraft but stopped when the fun police got involved, but I think I have some experience of lithium based cells and batteries they were always charged in charging bags which are fireproof. Are e bike batteries charged in place or still installed? I assume most of the charge fires are faulty chargers rather that battery fault

Thanks folks I’ll look into your suggestions I don’t have a cycling buddy yet but meeting up with some folks towards the end of the month so might get a better perspective on my position on the bike.

@supernova I will I plan to buy a new bike this time next year I bought a 2nd hand job to get fit on and learn to maintain it myself I only have allocated storage for one bike so it’ll be a carefully thought out decision.

@DickBarton I can go a slightly longer way which would involve going down through some woods it’s quite a rocky twisty path  but it’s dark in the morning so I’ll tackle that in the light which will be soon.

So if I got a garmin edge I can load routes from the os app. to it?, that would be handy.

Thanks folks I have a new disc and caliper adapter just waiting on the pads and it’ll all get changed. I’m not looking for more power mainly as I’m heavy hopefully the bigger disc will stay cooler and be more efficient as I lose weight it won’t be much of an issue.

OK thanks do you stay dry when it’s raining I don’t mind getting wet I’m just concerned if I get cold and wet if the outside temp is low.

I’m very unfit but gradually getting up a hill or two so not doing much distance wise I’m not sure what kind of distance I could manage and If I could manage to get back home.
