Ahh I know where you mean. Unless you have “bigged” it up a great trail that can be accesses by lots of different levels of rider and still fun for good riders.

No not that one but it is near buriton. Its in the events woodland the other side of the road.

Ahh out the back of the park and up the hill slightly you get to the top via a footpath ? Where they hold the archery competitions ?

If its that trail, its was really nice and with a bit of work excellent :-)

A new trail built by us for this race(Based on an old cheeky trail upgraded)

Where about’s ? I take the fact its not going to be cheeky as your race on it its OK to say :-)

Is it the one that comes out on the road at the hill up from Buriton ?

Do people really set off in second when the weather is cold !!!!

I am deffo not giving up, I pick up a brand new Tuono V4R on Friday :-)

I think if you are asking the question then your hearts not in it. Get rid. It is more dangerous than a car. Though I feel the dangers can be mitigated some what by choosing how, where and when you ride.

Recently got a new Renault Trafic Sport for carrying mountain bikes and my motorbike for trackdays.

I do have a car as well, but hardly used it since I have got the van. Its way easier to live with day to day than I was expecting.

Van is nice to drive more economical than car (BMW 135i) and it has all the toys on it. SatNav Bluetooth phone and A2DP etc etc

I really like it and if one of my vehicles had to go it would be the BMW at the moment !!!

This is why technical people (myself included) never do well in business. All we see the reasons why we can’t do something properly and give up.

I have worked for several start ups where I have thought “This is crap what we are doing. We don’t have the money to do it properly” They used the cobbled together crap as a demonstrator attracted funds and now have a yearly development budget of well over a million pounds.

People who develop massive scale-able solutions for companies think that the only solution is a massive scale-able solution and sometimes this is not what is needed in the embryonic stages of a company.

Go for it I say, do it yourself.

It does not have to be perfect it needs to be good enough to attract a round of funding. If you really have a decent idea you need to be able to demonstrate it then sell the idea to people willing to invest venture capital.

Developing quality, high availability software is expensive but you can wing it a bit to start.

Lets face it we would not have facebook (not sure if thats a good or a bad thing) if they listened to all the nay sayers on here !!!

No I am not part of Mullet, but they are my mates.

There are a couple of free lifts near the Olympic lift. A couple of drag lifts and two chairs the Village Chair and the Rogeny Chair. You don’t need a lift pass or go up the mountain for these.

Bar XV is indeed good for rugby and has a french feel to it. The Pacific is another great sports bar that has lots of big screens and shows the rugby and lots of football.

The Foret is now called the Fall Line and the Rose Blanche at the bottom of Le Daille is great for a post ski beer when the sun is shining.

That’s a YSE Chalet isn’t it ? In the Joseray area.

So just a little walk down to the main lift area.

You will have to walk home past the Doudoune Chalet bar, pop in and watch “Mullet” play at Apres :-)

Love Val off back for 9 days on the 15th :-)

I wear a Giro helmet and it feels odd skiing without one now.

On piste I wear it because of other people hitting me and off piste because there are rocks and trees to hit !!!

I have a squeezebox touch downstairs and a Duet upstairs.

I can control them from a PC, phone or the dedicated controller.

I can play Spotify, Iplayer and my music collection on the NAS and it sounds pretty good to me :-)

Edited to add I can control it all from the touch too :-)

Crazy how things have changed a VFR800 would do exactly what you are describing with ease.

I have a 3 year old Street Triple R and it is like new so I can vouch for Triumph quality.

Picked up a 12 year old VFR 800 for a mate who has just passed his test. That was in incredible condition Hondas do seem to last well.

Took a GS1200 touring for 2 weeks in the Alps last year. Loved the ease of putting on all the luggage and all that and the huge screen made for easy fast progress, but at the end of the day it was not that exciting as this type of bike is just that little bit too fat and a little bit slow. I know there are people who would be faster than me on one even if I was on a S1000RR but they don’t feel alive like a lighter bike.

That said not ridden a Multistrada which might hit the spot.

I realise that all that does not really help your decision but I love talking bikes and I am excited about a track day at Brands on Tuesday :-)

    x = 20,000/1.25
    x = 16000

On later versions on ubuntu that ship with just unity desktop you can install the classic desktop with

    sudo apt-get install gnome-panel

You can then choose the classic desktop at the login screen.

I run it on both my laptops and use it at work for a lot of stuff. If I want to use windows, I run it in a virtual machine under virtual box. Generally only use windows to run excel mostly. Open office does not handle some of the fancy excel stuff that well. Well it didn’t last time I tried it.

I also work for myself, I managed to defer it the first time but could not get out of it second time.

Would only pay for public transport expenses too, they would not pay the £35 a day car parking charge. So I used the train to get there. They then dismissed me early the first 3 days, by the time I got home on public transport (bus then train) it was too late to go to my clients site. So I thought sod this I will take the hit and pay the car parking myself so I can go to work and earn some money. I bet you can guess what happened then :-) Never got released early for the next 7 days I was there.

Cost me a packet but at the end of the day if we want a top quality justice system we all have to do our part !!!

If paying 45 quid a month aggrieves you so much, why don’t you cancel it?

Because some of my clients insist on it.

You reckon? It’s not a limited liability company… Your personal assets can be accessed regardless.

That’s what the limited means in a limited company. There are some instances such as health and safety legislation where you can be held personally responsible.

A limited company is treated like a person in its own right in law and separate from its owners. The liability of the share holders is limited to the value of the share capital.

Don’t underestimate the advantage of being a Ltd company if the shit hits the fan and someone sues you etc. Obviously depends on your business how likely this is. I pay about £45 a month for my public liability/indemnity insurance. I resent that more than the accountancy fees at least the accountants do something :-)

I run my business as a limited company. I use SJD, they are quite hands off and not a hand holding company. This does mean you have to take more of an interest in your own affairs and I think this is a good thing. My previous accountant did everything and I did not really know what was going on. I don’t think that’s a good thing as its your neck on the block if it all goes wrong.

SJD are very reliable though, if I email them they get back to me really quickly and everything is done on time etc.

I think its a little bit over £1200 a year now. This includes my PAYE, VAT returns, yearly accounts and my personal tax return. I send them a spreadsheet every quarter at VAT time.

    Hope this helps.

Broke mine in the middle skiing. It healed on its own without any issues. I think I was back on my bike in about 10 weeks could have done it sooner but took doctors advice.

I went to Whistler about a month later after I got back on the bike :-)

It aches a bit sometimes but all in all its fine.

If you are a basic rate tax payer no extra tax will be due as the tax credit from the corporation tax will cover it. If you are a higher rate tax payer then a top up personal tax payment will required.

Not sure about the pension thing !!!

That sounds like a plan, I really don’t want to put them off. I want them to have fun but still get the idea what mountain biking is all about. I don’t wan’t them to think mountain biking is just about slogging up fire roads.

    Interesting !!

I am taking a beginner there in a couple of weeks time, what trail would you suggest ? Is the red proper red or is it doable by a fit reasonably brave beginner ? Or should I stick to the blue trail. I have never been but I am looking forward to it. Unlike a lot of people on here I like a bit of trail centre action :-)

I am in the same boat clutch on my Vrs Estate packed up this week on 150K miles. It needs new tyres and is over due a cam belt change. Clutch is £400 so not sure what to do. I have had car from new so now its history so not sure if I should fix it or cut my losses.

I have another car as well so I can think about it a bit but its not ideal.

Will depend on how old your current kernel is. If its reasonably upto date it will have SMP(dual core) support as standard.

Yes it should be fine. In fact Linux auto-detects a lot better than windows so swapping boards can sometimes be seamless.

If you are not installing more than 4BG of RAM then the 32 bit install will be fine.
