NC30 as it was my first bike after passing my test, still think they look amazing.

2009 Street Triple R I think its one of the best bikes ever made.
2013 Tuono V4 APRC Its just such a visceral bike to ride it makes me chuckle even starting it up (With Austin Racing can)

    Hi Rachel

I took delivery of a new S1000XR just before xmas. Chuffed with it so far, quick and comfy.

I have a Apilia Tuono V4 APRC as well and its a real heart bike the BMW is more of a head bike.

Love both of them, sold my Daytona 675 track bike to get the BMW. So now will be doing trackdays on the Tuono and I love it 🙂

Trafic sport here. Has all the toys and is a nice drive. I had the older Dci115 before and now have the new Dci140 and great.

I wanted the bulkhead for the reasons mentioned and for safety in case of a crash, I don’t want whats in the back hitting me.

Strangely I find it better to weigh myself everyday. That way I can see the trend. If you weigh once a week and you happen to have a full bladder/bowel or better hydration that day you have to wait a week to see if it was a blip or you really have gained or not lost weight.

So I record my weight every morning along with resting HR etc.

    Good work 🙂

    I lost 12KG over 2 months beginning of last year (95KG – 82KG)

When you first start reducing calories your glycogen stores deplete. glycogen is stored with four times its weight in water. So this is what you see initially. So don’t be despondent if this rate slows when you start losing the fat at a slower rate.

I used MyFitnessPal to count my calories.

I also did a Mifflin – St Jeor calc for my weight height etc. My empirical evidence would show its either a tad high for the amount of weight loss or MyFitnessPal underestimates calories. But you will build up a picture over time of how this works for you.

Good luck, you can do it !!!

Problem is I suspect you might need a CRB check these days.

I have a 920xt and it does exactly what you want it to do. I upgraded from a 910xt the ANT+ upload was a royal pain in the bottom.

The 920 is a really nice bit of kit.

I have a Bose Soundlink Mini

On the plus side it fills a room well. Down side it like others have said very bass heavy. Its not ideal if you want to listen to it quietly as the bass still booms. Also this makes it not ideal for spoken word stuff if your trying to listen to the radio or a podcast.

    For party tunes, its great.

Have a look at http://www.tyretotravel.com/ might do what you want. I use it for building routes when motorcycle touring for use on my TomTom.

I gave up for about 5 years then returned to bikes about 5years ago.

However would not be interested in commuting everyday on a bike.

So I pretty much just do trackdays and a big Euro/Alps tour each year. I probably do a couple of hundred miles on UK roads a year and about 3000 on holiday.

Off to Spain on Wednesday for 4days on Almeria circuit and then riding back home via Santandar. I have a track bike but this time the road bike is being shipped down and we decided to ride back.

But before I gave up I remember being out for a ride (on an R6 at the time) thinking why am I doing this, roads are too busy covered in potholes and the temptation to do something that could lose my license or worse.

So I would not want to be without a bike now, but happy to limit its use a bit.

I really liked David Tennant. “The Girl in the fireplace” is still my favorite of the new episodes. Just thought the acting between him and the Sophia Myles character (I did have to look that up) was brilliant.

I am from the Tom Baker generation and the Genesis of the Daleks era 🙂

When the music starts I am 7 years old again.

    Edited to add

Last episode was great and I hope Capaldi is given the right scripts to shine this series.

Another happy Kickr user here, however the Neo does look good.

Using my Kickr along with a Rotor crank based power meter now. The Kickr read a bit lower than the Rotor so now I use that for road and Tubo.

    Trainer road works !!!!!

I have a 2013 SWB Trafic Sport Panel van and I have loved it very easy to live with day to day.

I have just ordered new 140BHP Twin Tubrbo Trafic sport. I test drove it and its a lot more refined than the old one.

I did however want the Ford Custom Sport but when all the dealing was done it came out 8K more expensive than the Trafic.

Have a chat to the dealers as the list prices may be similar but you there might be a fair gap in what you actually have to pay.

Another +1 for “100 years of solitude”, totally weird and I have no idea why I like it but I love it.

My current favourite book is “Shantaram”

I must be one of the few people who didn’t like “Catch 22” I never really found a voice for it in my head, if you know what I mean.

I do wonder if a lot of people who buy T5’s have bothered to drive the new generation of vans from Renault, Vauxaul Ford Etc.

The T5 is an old van now. The new Trafic and Transit custom have better engines and drive trains etc. Will be interesting to see what the new T6 is like.

I have just ordered a new Trafic Sport to replace my old 13 plate Trafic sport. Its a 140PS model with all the toys for the price of a 3 year old lower spec T5.

I really wanted the Transit Custom Sport but that was 8K more than the Trafic when all the deals were taken into account. I can trade cool for 8K !!!

T5’s are nice vans however but they are not the only vans that drive well and have a nice cab now, but they do look cool if thats important.

As for vans in general, I wish I bought one years ago 🙂 I used it for push bikes and transporting motorbikes and its brilliant.

    Tough call I think

I use predominantly Linux at work and I was using it for most things at home too. A few programs I needed to run would not run under Linux I used a windows VM which was annoying. So I got a Mac Book Pro (i7 16GB etc etc) and its great I can run all those programs I needed natively now which is great. If run a few Linux VM’s when needed, but the great thing is as the operating system is basically linux at lot of the things I would do on the Linux command line I can do natively.

I am a convert I pushed back on them for a long time, but I was wrong.

Also when I priced a similar spec PC laptop with same screen resolution etc, there was not a whole lot of difference in price.

Its completely down to you and your ego, if you are sensible enough it will be no problem at all. If you think your Rossi then it might be.

An R6 makes a lot of its power up the rev range so to be honest if you don’t cane it then it wont be that fast. You have to “try” to go fast on a modern 600. It does however have superb brakes and handling so its just as likely to get you out of trouble as into it.

I had one of the 99 R6’s when it came out, it was a cracking bike. I can only think the newer ones are better.

I ride a Tuono APRC on the road now and love the more comfortable position and the fact its still as quick as I would be happy going on the road. I also have a Daytona 675 track bike which is great for track but I am crippled after riding it for 20mins 🙂

I am waiting on a P3 with Di2 to be delivered. If it had been on a road bike I might have gone mech DA instead. But being able to shift from aero bars and base bars made me thing Di2 was worth while on Tri bike.

If you have the budget a Wahoo Kickr and a trainer road subscription. Makes Turbo training reasonably fun 🙂

I feel your pain quite literally !!!

I am suffering at the moment and seeing a Physio and Podiatrist. Still not sorted yet though. Got follow up with Podiatrist tomorrow.

I have cut my running down to 3 x 30mins a week at the moment and I am not getting much pain but I can still feel that if I pushed on anymore it would start to hurt.

    Its bloody annoying !!!

You can send it back if you bought it online legally because of the distance selling laws. If its an exchange I guess its upto them !!!

I have been using Trainer Road with a Wahoo Kickr for a good few weeks now. Its brilliant, it actually makes turbo training bearable for me.

I think its worth every penny.

The people stopping could be doing drills. If you want to improve your technique no point in re-enforcing bad technique.

A lot of people do their drills in the pool and their long distance stuff in open water.

It was a really nice day out. Good weather and a lovely lunch stop down by a river. Was of fun, also did a day walking in the Atlas as well which was pretty cool too. Local guide who knew everything about the area.

I bought the Kickr as I thought if I am going to buy a turbo I might as well buy one I will use. I have not been disappointed. With Trainer Road is verging on enjoyable. If if I do swear at it sometimes 🙂

I did a day riding in the Atlas at New year a couple of years ago.

We used these guys argan sports[/url]

Make sure you let them know your an experienced mountain biker and they will organise something appropriate. If you don’t they might assume your just a casual tourist and will give you something appropriate to that.

Another vote for a Blackbird CBR1100xx here.

But you can tour on anything and touring means different things to different people.

For me and my mate its getting to the twistiest roads ASAP and having a laugh. We don’t really go to see stuff, just to ride great roads. We leave at 8am in the morning and sometimes don’t finish riding till 8pm in the evening. I know for some people that would be hell. Others want to ride as much as possible.

I tour on a Tuono V4 APRC with Kreiga soft luggage. I have done the GS1200 thing and its not for me. Just encourages you to transport loads of rubbish you don’t need. Or at least thats my take on it.

Really like my Lumie and its my second, makes waking up a lot easier.

But they really are crap quality. My current one will not allow me to change the alarm time anymore without the display going funny requiring switching off at socket. It then comes back on at the same alarm time.
