35 mile loop round trails on salisbury plain, think i better wear a snorkel, was up to the top tube in places a couple of weeks ago and we hadn’t had this much rain.

Never had nipples seized in a mavic rim before, most common for us is the nipple seizing to the spoke preventing truing i think you have been unlucky there, every time i wash a my bikes mavic wheels or not i spin the wheels up in the workstand and spray then with GT85 and wipe off access, keeps them trouble free and brings them up like new.

It comes from the rebound damper and you’ll need a new one, there are other threads on here about it if you remove the rebound adjusting key and look up inside the socket is it red or blue, the colour will let you know if it’s the dodgy damper or not just can’t remmember which is which, if you find the other thread it will tell you.

It is an allen key 12mm i think and it goe’s in through the non drive side first to undo the bolt and then non drive or drive to undo the freehub.

The free hubs on these wheels are rubbish, both of our shop demo bikes freehubs have failed after very little use and specialized replaced them under warranty.

That looks like a very easy one to make with the right thickness alloy.

Just a warranty thing i spose, if you don’t stick to the service shedual kiss goodby to having it fixed for free.

The problem with rockshox is the amount of grey import forks around and for this reason they want to see your recipt.

Dual pull means the cable can come from the bottom under the bott bracket or the top down the seat tube the mech will do either, if you are looking at a certain mech where you have to choose then you need a top pull for an anthem.

You need to tap the axle out then you can get to the bearing from the drive side with a screwdriver an knock it out.

Mavic wheels are the best, have been using them for years strong stiff and super reliable, spare parts are not a problem to get and if you are thinking tubeless in the future its the only way to go you don’t need any stupid rim strips or tape just a ust tyre for super reliable tubeless running.
The only other wheels i would look at would be fulcrum red metal 0’s all the same advantages as mavic but i think they are a litte more expensive.

The lockout is oil controlled so i’ll bet the oil level is to low.

They are sealed cartridge for fulcrums and should be available from any bearing supplier.

You would have to spend silly money to get rotors lighter than the Formula lightweight rotors which come with RX brakes

    Formula rotors are silly money.

You knock it out like any other headset cup however i havn’t delt with one before so don’t know what you will be left with {bare frame or 1.5 cup underneath} or maybe the 1 1/8th bit is sat inside the 1.5 cup.

The stout has sealed cartridge bearings and the only way sort the play is to change the bearings.

I seem to be prone to this lost count the amount of times iv’e had it, however as i have got older it seems to be less savere and when i feel it coming on i just ease down on the riding and its gone in a few days, seem to get a couple of bouts every winter.
