Big wig is not a bad frame enjoying mine. Only been out on it a few times but it rides very well, mind you that hasn’t stopped me picking up a Shan gt frame that came up second hand the other week that I’m not sure what to do with now lol.

Been running the bikeyoke all summer been faultless as said if it’s sat for a week and is bouncy you just use the air reset before you ride back to solid again.
Also got a transfer on other bikes seems good to. The original doss I had was great and had that for about 4 years on varyious bikes and never had an issue.

Had a v2 last not much time on it but it felt pretty good very stable on the downhills and ok at climbing. Only sold it due to what turned to be abig old cock up on mybehalf! (Long story).
got a 2017 bigwig built at the min seems pretty good same size as the last long and low shorter travel but is a more usable format I think for all types of riding! And hate to say just picked up a second hand Shan gt that but that’s gonna be a couple of weeks I think before it’s built! Gonna keep the wig at 120 travel and Shan go to 140 I think or my be th friend other way round not quit sure which way yet!
see how they compare and like the most so as to move one on.

I’ve tryed the only number I could find on the web page which wouldn’t connect.
I have since found one that is about 30 mins away! But had ordered them by then all so,I did just use some money that was in my pp account as it was burning a hole in my virtual pocket lol.

Well done mate when I’m fit I love riding my fat bike along with the other bikes to.
Just in case you don’t know there’s a uk fatbike closed page on Facebook search for it and ask to Join. Good friendly group and more than likely there’ll be some like minded fattys near yup to meet up with once your happy to ride with others.

    Pretty much as above really
    Last ff
    Big wig
    Nukeproof
    Shan gt
Price wise not that much in it between them all
But I looked at the pace and gotta say it seems short in the reach department on any given size compared to most of the above.

Well not risen one bit have looked at them when they appeared, and I’ve gotta say there very 5 years ago. Short reach, short toptube head angle could do with being a Dec slacker more 67.5 ish.
If it was me I’d look at that sonder if it’s carbon that what you want!

Funn and spank do 35mm stack height stems this might help you out if you want to change stems that is.

    batman11

Using a torque wrench when fitting might help. Any bars I’ve seen busted seem to be right by the stem area!

Can’t say I’ve had issues with frame rub and I’m a size 10 with five ten impact shoes, so a pretty chunky shoe. Guess is there was any thing of note it would be running on the crank arms but that seems to be common with most flat pedals! And of cause you can get crank skins for most big brand crank arms

Burgtec mk4 here great pedal loads of grip and pretty easy to replace bushs and bearings when the need arises.

Maxx d and a diablo on the lid for me works a treat.
Had the original six pack and when in a group found it caused to much shadowing for the riders in front!
So god knows what the new one would do, probably just set them on fire lol.

Not personally but I’ve got two mates that have had frames built by the guys from BTR fabrication.
One is a pure custom one off and the other was one of there designs!
There nice bits of kit very well made and finishnis top notch.
I’m just in the process of trying a generic 29er frame to see if I get on with it for a few months if I do then I’ll pull the plug on one of there’s later in the year once funds allow!

Ragley bigwig might be worth a look to its kinda in the middle geometry wise of the two you mentioned.

I wouldn’t cross boost frames off your list as company’s like wolftooth do the boostinator which is handy and production privee will, have something very similar out soon. So that’s a low’ish cost conversion there.
Also orange segment gets my vote if 29er is your thing.

It .seems silverfish have a good few of them in stock might be worth a call to them yourself.

Not owned and missed out on the deals that where about but from what I know and have heard there a nice frame, bit old on the sizing by today’s long and low numbers but at the end of the day a good frame is a good frame.
If your a medium or small in frame size check out these guys bloody bargain.

I can’t remember the company that do it, but I Do remember it was around £65! factor in postage both ways and it was pretty uneconomical to my mind.
Shame as I’ve got a mint set of vxi here I keep ouncering what to do with.

The only real issue with the Shan gt is the sizing it comes up very short in the TT and reach unless you do run it at 120 then it starts to come more inline with modern geometry! I recon you might struggle Jim unless you like a shorter bike of cause.

Renton I’m in and around your weight and ridden carbon bars for 10+ years starting with Easton monkey DH
There all good! Only time I’ve changed them is to go wider or a really big crash! See if crc have still got Easton stuff with a big discount they had 750 bars at a good price.

Bonesetter, basically there a long slack 29er with a 64deg head angle with 140mm fork, also as above can run 650+ option. Waiting for my XL to get is butt to me to part mostly here just waiting on forks to arrive from a seller on here which are taking there sweet time

No send the whole thing back as they don’t seem to repair! They just send you a new boxed one complete with all the bits and bobs.
You will have to get your local shop to do it for you, so you, will have to pay for the postage etc but worth it.

I’ve just been going through the same thing my self so camps help with a couple of the ones turnerfan has put forward regards reach.
    Shan gt 140mm 450 120mm 460 mm
    Fast forward 475mm
    Bigwig is around 475mm
    Kingdom about 455mm
    Tarn 490
    BTR Ranger 475mm
Only one of these for you size wise and your mentioned type of riding is the bigwig I’d say.
Fastforward and the BTR are supper slack 64deg head angles
    Shan to short really etc.
