Well, due to,operations I’ve only ridden my jps once 2 Sunday’s ago! And  gotta say what a machine. Grip levels are unbelievable thing just wanted to be bars down in the dirt and it still went round corners! zero fitness as stated above but climbed well for a big rig but then I’m slow as just a big old fella anyway. 6.4 on a xxl. If you take anything from this take it that my mate had 2 goes one on a nice little single track with some good roots to plow throw and a couple of nice corners and one that’s a real root/hard corner fest.

He’s 5.9, 2days later he’s demoing a med/leg for 2nights and now waiting for his new 917 rolling chassis to turn up this week. Guess are local shop D&D owe me a coffee now.

Of you can get down south for a demo do so  there a well thought out frame

If roof bar based is an option then look for the Yakima fork chop that works with every wheel/fork size. Looks a solid option.

I’m 6.4 bit heavyier than you buddy and can highly recommend a production privee Shan No5. Single pivot, steel and new school geometry to boot. Solid frame with natural flex built in the rear end which makes the grip levels unbelievable I fact crazy levels.

Great pricing to for frame only and rolling chassis as they went direct sales in February,

with only 2 gents in Europe one of which is D&D cycles here in the uk based on the south coast.

Yes mate most modern forks are so you can just adjust internally.

You  could get a shaft to go up to 160mm travel to and all sizes in between.

Hay von cheers I did try something similar about 6 years ago when it was just starting did help at the time as did the scraps over the years sadly as it’s got to the Cronick levels where the sheath is so inflamed that it basically try’s to stop the tendon moving through its range of motion ( makes one hell of a weird noise squeaks lol when it happens some weeks. It’s all past this point. They did one arm where they cut in to the sheath to realease it and now I’m basically looking for to help that one while I ride and rehab it  and then the other one when that’s ready etc.

Yeah tryed them and the Troy Lee ones and most medical ones with bars in over all most work for a while but not enough to stop the deterioration sadly.

In a word yes. But  you need to check what axel your cranks are running 24mm or 30mm!? Also  raceface bb are known to be pretty poor quility longevity wise, so my be it would be worth spending more and upgrading to a hope if your gonna keep the frame for a good while

Where is anyone finding the scarlet pimpernel of 2.6 maxxis tyres in this country! I’ve not seen them anywhere at all yet!?

Yeah I’ve had the same with Hermes and crc, card through the door with no info on it! and an email to say they’d delivered it!  And it’s no where to be seen. So far other than my first email back from crc that they  where contacting Hermes I’ve heard nothing and that was over 2 weeks ago. So good luck.

Mk4 burgtec’s here lasted me about 2 years before they seized took me 15/20 mins a pedal to strip clean grease  and refit bearing and bush on the axel. £100 for  the pedals (eBay cheaper if you look) and £20 for a complete service kit for both pedals.

Hay solid all I can say for now is got the frame nice. Gonna build it up over the next couple of days and will get it out on the road (only as not long had a tendon release operation) so will try and update you on its ride soon as.

I was 43 when I walked away from my job of 14 years. Bought a van with a tank and pumps in and some poles with that funny water. And I started to clean windows, 18 months in  and I had a a good business entering my 5th year now work 20/25 hours a week to suit. Yes it rains yes it freezes but over all it’s a good life and if you do it right you hardy have to go back to collect money with electronic payment methods and few other tricks I do that others don’t seem to do.

What ever you decide go for it nothing worse than hating your life because of work

Well I’ve got one order’d but that’s it lol. Same as you there’s nothing of note written out there other than about the smaller wheeled version. But it ticks the boxes for me so I’m gonna give it a go as it’ll mainly be for doing miles on when I’ve recovered from minor surgery in a week or 2’s time. Road work to start with.

    batman11

Na got a plus bike Pipedream moxie so I’m really after something to try and just do miles on but don’t want an out and out xc bike. As I’ve got some 120 forks and 29er wheels group set etc makes sense to just find a frame and this seems to tick all the box’s fit,geo and a reasonable price etc as the only thing I can see I’d need is a headset.

Be good to know how you find it out on the trails when you get out there.

Yeah gotta say I’d be looking around to build it up from second hand parts for the most part ignore all the boost standard stuff and start looking for frames from transition, banshee to name two that will come trough cheaper than some. A good pike and some nice wheels then see how much you, have left and either swap drive chain over or look for deals on say shimano slx. I’m sure there are a ew people like me who will help out and do you a bit of a better deal to help keep a youngster in the sport.

Yeah that there is the problem cupatea both of mine have a wheel base of near on 1260mm so I’m pretty sure, either of the Thule one will be longer enough. The Yakima does look good though. Just where the hell do you get them from in the uk?

    batman11
    Free Member

I take it then uphill with the Yakima it’s really about how long your roofs side rails are? which would determine how far apart the the roof bars would go etc?

    batman11

Wolftooth boostinator, rear wheel will need to be moved over a few mill to the drive side local shop trip unless you can do that yourself.
MRP now do boost adaptors for the front for about £45 to

Roverpig it’s worth also looking at the seat angles between both bikes as that could be the over all effect on your climbing it might actually be steeper on the ict. My buddy was literally about to hit buy last night Ona lathe beargrease carbon when it went sold out lol. He’s a bit gutted I think. Quit a bargain

    Bit cheeky but.
I’m about to put up some hope pro 4 with stans flow3 rims (29mm) internal width wheels for sale in just what your after in black they were built by strada wheels so a pretty high end build as there one of the best in the country now. wanted £310 posted for them.
Pm carlfragle@aol.com if there of interest

From just how it looks I’d say it’s goong to be what they say awesome. Have to say if you can! go for it, the finish is really good all the internal threads for screwing things in are clean and easy to use the rear wheel adjuster is good and robust looking, good sized bolts unlike a lot I’ve seen that have sliding drop outs and internal threads for cable guides (last fast forward flimsy drop outs paint in every thread! nice bike to ride though) mines getting a new 185 bike yoke dropper fited today and a generic invisiframe kit tomorrow fitted at my local shop and from a source I shall not mention the pricing is about to come down a smidge either today or tomorrow on there web site due to something going On where there made or some thing so well worth going for it then
