I never had any interest in sick from the start but have vicariously followed there fall from grace with interest as I’m very local to them.
What i will say is Jordan was looking very relaxed in Worthing on Sunday with his family spending your hard earned cash on shizzle!
over all though it sucks for all of us when people mug you off and thx god it’s only really happened to me once with another very well regarded company along time ago! Frame was put together by a blind monkey! Or perhaps that’s a blind monekey could of put it together better I’m not sure🤪
batman11Free MemberYeah I use to always be on here buying bits and selling but I hate the new classified! I’ve even used the payed bit on there and didn’t even get a single inquiry it does seem to have fallen on its arse since they changed it.
Pinkbike is ok don’t like eBay because of the charges but have used it once in a blue moon.
Actually been sat on a set of plus wheels because I don’t really know where to sell them now 🤦♂️
batman11Free MemberCan’t help sadly. But I can say that D&D cycles in barnham Sussex have or had a xl sentinel in there sales so worth a call if an alloy one is what you want.
batman11Free MemberThere a Pipedream moxie owner group on Facebook mate. I’m sure info will be forth coming regards tyre clearance very soon as there are some being built up as we type🤪
batman11Free MemberI’ll second on the möbius x8.
great t bit of kit I ware 2 and there very comfy to ride in and gives me conference when riding.
As above not cheep but by far the best system I’ve found and must of tried a dozen or so to help over the last few years before I had my operations last year. Don’t really need them now but still use them.
batman11Free MemberNot ridden any of the above but have been looking at similar types of frames lately.
Worth looking at also is the V2 Pipedream moxie, Stanton switch 9er or the orange crush 29er.
Had a moxie and the front end total length/reach was an issue couldn’t get the front end to pop up and over stuff easily! due to tendon issues so week arms but if not for that then I’d still have it. Also the new gen longer bikes do take a lot more grrrr to get them to go where you want etc. Low bb not really an issue I have to say and the moxie is a super low
batman11Free MemberPipedream moxie would be well worth a shout out on this list.
batman11Free MemberWell not your problem as such but I do,use the Yakima fork chop carrier on my roof bars. Rear wheel has a clicker strap so that’s solid and the front comes with just about every version of axel adaptors for you to use the bikes own axel to fit the fork in to solid and so far no worries! also I’m using it with a 30 plus pound mountain bike. Hope that helps.
batman11Free MemberYakima fork chop here sold bit of kit and as long as yourbars can go long enough down the roofs rails it’ll take some pretty long wheel based bikes.
batman11Free MemberI’ve had tendon issues in both arms for a few years now and did try vibrocore bars they defo do damp out curtain vibrations and reduce fatigue that’s for sure. Operations done last year so I’m just running weak hand grip now.
One other option I did try was the SQlabs 12deg back sweep bars which for me did help open the pinch point on my wrist! from forearm to back of the thumb area not sure they would help with numb hand which kinda sounds like your weight is to forward in my mind and your putting to much weight on your hands but I’m no doctor there.
This defo sounds a weird one to but years ago I would start to get a numb foot/feet while riding cleats etc (hotspots I think it’s called) and within a few minutes my hands would get numb to mostly in the little finger side of my hand🤷♂️
Side not Sq lab bars are here if any one wants them no longer needed now I’ve got the bos and can post out where used for about 6/8 rides post op. Back on standard 9deg bars now.
batman11Free MemberOf your looking towards yakima then look up there forkchop model. It’s two parts wheel, wrap for the rear and then you fix the fron via the fork bolt.
Been using mine now for quit a while and it’s a solid bit of kit and as long as your rails or bats can go long enough you can fit any size or length bike on them.
batman11Free MemberThat has sadly replaced the forsale section!
And the wanted section has gone all together to.batman11Free MemberIf it was me I’d be looking out for a transition smuggler 2017/16 as there 142 rear and your pikes are adjustable (shaft change) depending on what there set to in the first place as the smuggler will take a 140mm fork from memory.
There a bit weighty but meant to be a great and solid 29er all rounder full sus and you should be able to pick one up and a resonable
price now some where in and around £700 age depending etc.
batman11Free MemberThere’s a closed Chromag owners group,on Facebook mate if that gets you some help.
batman11Free MemberIf it was me I’d be looking more towards the wheel adjustable 29er market so you can run both 29er&650b plus wheels on the frame which would definitely open up its use regards all round terrain etc xc 29er rocky days out chinky plus tyres to help with grip and comfort etc.
Orange or cotic Solaris or of corse the one I have a pipedreM moxie long very low and slack similar to the orange P7 29 er I’d say but a lot lower over all.
Check it out
batman11Free MemberThe Pipedream moxie comes In at 415mm in the rear with 16mm ajustmnt to 431 on its sliding dropouts! Can’t say I’ve noticed it being in anyway bad in the rear also it’s a smidge longer that the paces xl model to.
batman11Free MemberDifference between the Clockwork137/evo & crush.
clockwork reach 473, crush 450 ish head angle 66 or 64 crush and travel 130/150 crush
so clockwork is trail/xc and crush is more hardcore hardtail.
and the clockwork is£300 new.
batman11Free MemberBoost is not an issue there are adaptors to sort that out and you can just get the wheel relished for £15 in most shops so a cheeper option.
Frame wise orange clockwork 137 or the crush from here.
batman11Free MemberBigger than you leg wise and Troy Lee xl 5400 I think knee shin pad. But to be fair they
re only really an extended knee based pad. Comfy to.
batman11Free MemberFor me it was kinda the same😭! except injurys have pretty much scupperd all of it at present! Fitness is zero I’m no fatter than ever and skill is pretty much at just hang on and hope for the best🙄.
So this winter as long as then injurys don’t get any worse cross fingers better. Fitness will be my main aim with weight loss being a plus. Skills hopefully will return.
Like you I’ve got a Pretty good woodlands near by with about 8plus miles of mostly single track about 60% and then with the rest being fireroad and fireroad climbs which is handy.
Do have to say I did a skills day with Jedi about 2.5 years ago and that was mo way well spent. And was older than you are now lol
batman11Free Member2 revives here and faultless so far.
But just done a little hardtail build to try out and I’ve bought an Xfusion matrix of crc 150 drop for £170 remote lever seemed a ok, but I had a wolftooth in the draw so have used that and it also has a spring on the release part of the post so action is very smooth and very easy to use. Not ridden in anger yet but it seems a nice bit of kit for that money and reviews all seemed to think it’s a good post. Worth checking out on there
batman11Free MemberNot been there for a bout a year now and even then it was with tendon issues in both wrists.
But considering I’m a long time mountain bike with average skill no big jumps but ok on trail stuff i can nail it at pace at most trail centres ok.
I do find the grading to be kinda out of whack.
I find reds pretty tec now so tend to stick to the blues and just nail them and there flowie goodness! And just pop on a few red sections as and when I feel the urge during the day.
Gotta say though bang for your buck the blues are great😉 do all the blues multiple times in a day! and you’ve probably done 20plus miles of DH trail riding easily
batman11Free MemberCheers dave I will defo take you up on the loan for a couple of rides if that’s ok. Same as you stem wise 40/50mm stem as an average so it should be ok.
The other thing I’ve sort of noticed or been thinking, is the longer reach bikes I’ve got! 495/510 mm respective! both with 50mm stems so at best I could knock 15mm of that with a stem
it seems due to that that I just can’t load up the forks due to the issues and I’m only using about 50/60% of the forks travel so that’s starts to fatigue them quit a bit after an hours riding. Even down here in shandy drinking central southdowns terrains 😜.
Taken a bit of a risk and sourced a frame reasonably cheep with 470mm reach which is what I was riding reach wise 2 years ago and felt fine on. So guess I’ll see tomorrow how that works out.
batman11Free MemberBruneep could be worth a phone call to D&D cycles in barnham. I know they had some orbea’s discounted all though no idea what models ok.
batman11Free MemberTwo sets here normal single pot and the twin pots no issues to report!
also ran a set of 8000 for about a year once again no issues I just re bleed them every 3/4 months and did pads when needed etc. Great brakes in my experience.
Twin pot was a bit of a mate to revered but got there with a bit of patience and an extra 10 mins or so each end from normal time 😁👍
batman11Free MemberYou don’t need to fit the Hope crown race on to the fork mate. The ohlins have it already in the crown/steerer tube. Something about being stronger. More than lily.
Other than that I have some 34 and liked them only sold them as I changed frame and wanted to go full boost front and rear.
batman11Free MemberWell that sucks! I guess yours must be over 12months old! Ugh they would have done something about it as it was a known issue.
batman11Free MemberMartianhutch the early model ones with the reset issues will be fully repaired under warranty by Tftuned I had an early one to which was the same boomed it on and on,y lost it for 3 days so no hassle at all.
batman11Free MemberAs tim said faultless got a 185 & 160on my bikes and they’ve been great. Same though about once a month I do the rivive circuit but then my bikes hand vertically so that might have something to do with it but don’t know for sure.
batman11Free MemberI was a Santa Cruz fan boy so your right single pivot was around £1000
the the link actuated single pivot nickle ext was around £1450 and the. The bop where about £1660 give or take options so in real terms the new alloy ones are pretty fair considering 8/9 years etc.
But then I’m now on a steel production privee Shan no5 £1500 or so with a top flight fox shox! Makes you wonder what is happening over all as privee are not a big company so can’t be making the volume last that the big players are!
batman11Free MemberWell let’s sort out the costings shops are actually between 25/30% margin my be abit more of there selling high volume from the same supplier, probably same again for the supplier and then my be more for fox, rockshox etc actual manufacturing cost is probably around £80/120 per unit.
But over all I do agree with you they are cost prohibitive these days I’ve actually been trying other brands here and Here since fox and rockshox shot up in price.
Xfusion are pretty good for the cash and Ive now got the new MrP ribbons very impressed but they are the coil option so there gonna feel different to air which they do.
But then this could open a whole can of worms up.
We all remember when santcruz alloy frames where about £1100 and that was only around 8/9 years ago! now there over 3k for a plastic ones and I personally can’t see the justification in those prices!
batman11Free MemberAs a couple have said D&D cycles do have stock of them for sure I was in there a few days ago and there a coup, emof good guys and post all over no problem
batman11Free MemberPersonally I’d agree I’m finding the recent new wave of carbon bars are pretty ridge! So went back to alloy ones ended up with spank vibrocore ones which does work really well at dampening the vibrations etc.
batman11Free MemberI take it you’ve not checked out the MRP ribbon coils? Pretty impressed with enitial rides on them! Great control smooth as you like etc. Not ridden in anger due to wrist ops but what I did ride very nice
batman11Free MemberAnd that was a 3 minute seach so have a good look you will likely find branded stuff to.
batman11Free MemberHere you go 10 here for £3.65
plenty of grease before fitting and good to go.
Outer
ferrels
batman11Free MemberDo a search on eBay mate for inner outer and ferrets. Think I got like 30 inners 30mters of Clark’s outer and a bunch of ferrets for something like £35/40 quid all in most bikes only need about 1.5 meters so it’s a great deal.
