Hi jedi nope, from the top Nickel, Nomad 2 and a Heckler.
Ride wise yes mate it does ride very well like a plusher superlight. stiffer, alot less brake jack in my opinion and with the xtra travel an ideal trail bike for us softy’s down south.

Plus 1 for medusas have used them for the last 2 winters great tyre and to be fair there is at least 3/4 others in my local group that use them 2. Also consider panracer trailrakes got 1/2 who swear by these also.

Hay rupert well done on any weight loss achived, ive been following my own form of atkins/lowcarb diet since may now and lost 4.5stone. Having got there am finding it very hard to find good wholesome carbs etc to replace them with but whole oats brown rice, zero white anything and look up low GL stuff like sweet potatoes instead off normal ones etc they release there carbs slower and you don’t get a spike in blood suger etc. Also worth thinking about making sure you eat protein with every meal this will fill you up for longer due to slower digestion. Protein smoothies are good nut butters or nuts for snacks (low/no salt). My own smoothie recipy is.

2/3x tablespoon(30grams) of oats soaked in boiling water for about 10/15 mins.
milks normal, soya and almound milk on there own or paired(your cup beaker full)
1x skoop of whey protein flavour of choice.
1x heaped teaspoon nut butters normal almound hazlenut etc.
100 plus grams blueberrys/strawberry or what ever (good antioxidents)
    quarter lemon squeesed in.
And blend till smooth. Im using a magic bullet with it’s own cups perfect start to the day, only takes about 5mins after oats are soaked and keeps me going most of the morning and at least a 3 hour ride (moderate pace). Also if you put in half a lemon squeesed in, it will help keep the berrys fresh for around an hour or so, so you could commute to work whick i do.
Also i know a great lower GL flapjack recipy if anyone is interested?
Anyway good luck with it all mate.

Hi damo congrats on a great frame choice there nothing wrong with your component choices either, but like stooo i would think about a shorter stem i started with a 90mm and ended up at 80mm for everything, mainly because there such a capable frame. You just want to help it pop up and over everything in your path such a shame i sold it on.

Other thing worth considering is clearence, the anthems can get very clogged up with mud etc where as the superlight is great for anything spesh if you ride all winter and do any race type activaties. So wish i had'nt sold my frame on earlyer this year.

Hi buddy if you wanna stick with maxxis go advantage or ardent's both high vol and great all round tyres.
The advantage gives you 5mm approx more wall hight so i used to ride a 2.1 and that came in way bigger than a high roller, and im now on ardent exo very please'd high sidewall again and the 2.25 comes up large in width but not massive so fit's great in my bfe.
Both grip/stick way more that a high roller but still pick up speed with nbo issue what so ever.
    Hope this helps a bit.

1 shout for exposure, personaly i love the cable free look and there a good well thought out product with great back up from a uk based company. Dependant on buget maxx D with a joystick for your noggin retail around £480 all in or around that sort of money anyhoo if not just go for the maxx D £325 i think. I see that most are doing around 11% of retail at the moment.

Hi mate having come from a superlight to a heckler id have to say superlight im kinda the same type of riding as you (southdowns, wales etc) but i found the superlight great for everything wales, gerneral trail and singletrack was brilliant set up with a 120mm fork at the front. Now the heckler to be fair is great but a differnt beast def slower up hills and for me no faster or slower downhill just that you can hit ruffer lines and get away with bigger drops roots etc. to round off im thinking of trying to get a new superlight and 120mm fork and just build one up then see which one i wanna keep heckler or superlight! might add that since getting a new cotic bfe ive only riden the heckler once and that has been 3 months loving that frame/bike and there pretty much the same head angles etc (68deg).

Here is how it's worked out for me purchased £1000 voucher 3 years ago payed of over the 12 month period. Now have a bill for £120 to pay at the end of this month or give it back and still have to pay them £100 to do that. For me that all sucks as the others above have stated at this time of year i could have just bought a old stock bike with 20% of and probably been better off in the long run.
I would certanly check out the figures more closly before doing it again which is a shame as i did want to get a new commuter bike as the original one has seen better days now with 3 winters on the road etc.

Cynic-al not sure what your 1.5 is measured in inchs or mm but yes it probably works out around 15mm as near as dame it! giving a 23in T/T give ot take 3mm. But i still stand by what i think lrg would be the way to go with a 70mm stem but only my thoughts…..

Id say you where on the border line for both, santacruz measure the T/T from the outside to outside un like most companys who measure middle headtube to middle seattube so in effect making the large really more like a 23in T/T. I have one and so doeas one of are group he is around 5,11 and rides with a 80mm srem and layback so i would go large frame inline post and 70mm stem thing should rock.

One of the worst mistakes i made was selling my superlight of truly a great singletrack and all round frame set, spec't with a 120mm fork up front took some hard riding in it's stride in wales and im 17 stone.
