What about the ordea occam or rallons think you can basically build your own and they then send it to a near by dealer to finish off and warranty etc.

Ok so all the ideas of chair lifts just go and ride up etc are great😁

but isn’t it just easier for them to buy a few thermo what’s check temperatures on arrival while booking in and then get everyone to ware face masks while In the vans my be book the same 16 in to every van number🤔

(if you keep removing it in the van the you get booted off)

also to be worn while getting food and drinks and set up some out side cover gazebos I guess.
I’ve only had a quick look and can’t see anything about what distance on the transport front but it was a quick look.
thismismof cause once wales lets free movement happen.

To the question of would a new gen hardtail be better than a five year old full sus.
    to my mind yes.
Last 5 years everything has moved on huge amounts! Geometry, suspension, dropper posts even the use of all metals and carbon has moved on loads.
I have both sus and hardtails am old been doing this since ridged was the norm.
on a good day on local trails I’m no slower on my good hardtail than I am on my sus (prett groomed to be fair lol)

but to start with get a good hardtail as a few have said orange, bird, nukeproof. All hard to find at the moment but worth the wait get a trail based geometry Between 65 & 67 deg head angle Seat angle around 74/75 and at around 5.11 a reach number around 460/475 ish longer is Better because you can drop stem length 35/50mm to fine tune you fit and sharpen your handling  Personally had 2 oranges in the last few years crush and a clockwork 137. Both great bikes and very compliant for alloy very comfy gotta say. Other than that really is the on going wheel debate! I’m 6.4 and totally 29er now there very sorted gotta say

munrobiker To be fair both had very low use a couple of small rides when I fitted the new 12 speed So no real where issues on that front.

Got two bikes set up with xt 12speed and I’m running one with a wolftooth and the other with a raceface no issues at all.
one thing I did notice is if you use the Shimano quick link it needs to go on a curtain way or it jumps a bit can also look closed but still not quite be fully so check that out to.

You need to check the length to as frames are all different thickness in the drop out area

    Pace RC627 steel

Orange clockwork or clockwork evo. Both alloy.
stantons gotta be worth a look

    nukeproof scout (alloy)

transition throttle of you can find one (carbon though )

main thing is these are all 148boost wheel now so you might want to check your wheels to.

Not seen anything in the uk yet but I do have a raw paradox V3 on order😁, and believe it’s coming with a shipment end of March early April. But can’t fully confirm that.

Got the smuggler, great bikes I’ve gotta say just replaced the bearings with enduro  max bearings ready for the new season and rear shox is going off next week for a service.
Can highly recommend getting a coil rear shox on there really brings them to the next level.
also there’s a transition owners group on Facebook if you fancy that sort of thing😜

Got 25mm riser bars and plenty of spacers under them. Plus the head stock is fairly high so it should dame wellcome up easy enough lol.
only other frame I’ve had this issue with was so long so low & so pink was the Pipedream moxie! Still say one of the best looking bikes I’ve had though hell of a machine though if you could get the best out of it! Which I couldn’t 😂

Well being the impatient twerp that I am I didn’t want to wait till early next year for an orange crush 29er that I originally wanted lol. I’m sure I will probably get it sorted if not then hay ho lesson learned

Hay joe. Yeah I’m 6.4 and went for the no3 top of the height range, so it was a more playfull it’s long but I’ve had/& got longer bikes which are all ok. Transition smuggler and a transition carbon vanquish! Both way longer on the reach numbers. Riding wise I’m just an old single track kinda guy, minimal jumping really other than log jumps etc but do like to use the trail to pop off stuff when it’s there to be done! Bb is average by today’s standards.
regards those square rear triangle yep stiff as lol. Very much like the mk1 chameleon which would near on cripple your ankles back in the day 😂😂😂

Yeah done a stem change and adjusted saddle (same saddles on all bikes) just doesn’t suit me lol.
regards stealth add people who have known me on here over the years would know I’d just sell it! Not stealth add it ffs! That’s just more a passing comment!
    its a GG pedalhead hardtail.

im finding it hard to pop off and over things generally and ridged the most stiff steel frame I’ve ridden and I’ve done a over the years lol

Blatant highjack but selling my XL RC627 frame with hope headset and a reverb fitted.

There a great frame to build on, but the 29er shizzle has grabbed me for now so no point it sitting here gathering dust😁

Can’t recommend the transition smuggler enough!

Not gonna say it’s the lightest machine out there but dame there a fun bike climb very well and goes down really well very fun bike. I managed to pick up the v2 2018 one frame second hand but the v1 are out there size depending for sensible money.

Not ridden Fox a good few years but the ultimate is a noticeable jump in performance over the normal pike. It’s a very sorted fork. More supple the LSC is very noticeable/usable and very nice fork gotta say.

Having said that I also run a 2019 pike to and that’s a great  fork and more available in the sales or offers options on line. Real questions are, is it worth the extra £ for the ultimate and do you think you’d really notice the performance difference? A couple of years ago I’d of said no I don’t think I would of! But two years for crap tendons in both arm, operations and now arthritis in both thumbs I’m a bit more tuned in to a supple nice working front end!

Not that would of stopped me a few years ago I’d still have wanted the new fork on the block😂

As above with lat is was one of the inner knobbles that had torn! And I’m talking southdowns trail here so mostly dirt track with a few stone and gully’s to track through at moderate speed! Gonna run it till it’s holed again then swap it out.

Yeah I know what you mean about the WT tyres they are a heavy draggy tyre! But then I like to fit and forget and they serve this purpose nicely

    batman11

Well like you I run the same combo normally in WT maxxis flavour.

But just built up a new 29er full sus and was looking at what tyres to get and went mainly with weight to start with so and with around 180grams lighter went 2.35 Mary front and Hans rear in orange compound.

So nice tyres roll well and grip well but 3rd ride out have all ready torn a hole in the hans plugged it on the trail and is holding up ok.

Main point really is there good tyres but a weak rubber as I’ve never done more than pin hole maxxis tyres to date, and I’m an average rider so if a hard hitter I’d go maxxis still.

And my be go for the Wide trail versions.

My best car to date for these duty’s was a Toyota Previa great bit of kit four bikes in and on it four grown ass fat  men and all there bags no issues what’s so ever (5 once) was actually broken hearted when it died😢

No one been ridden onza tyres?

There  ibex or the  canis could be a good shout! Ibex its  meant to have good grip all year round bit more draggy though  I’ve just fitted there canis model front and rear and should get a ride out next it later this afternoon so will come back when done. Was on maxxis ikon very fast but as someone said side walls are flimsy. Probably great for racing though.
