Yeah 150/120 adjustable would be my ideal if money allowed. Stuck with a 150 at the min when it’s pined back together.
But having said that I like it like that for quick blast/ play so I’m happy, there a great frame and ride well with most fork lengths.

I would say no to changing any rear type wheel to a 15mm I’m not even sure I’ve ever seen rear stays with 15mm configuration as ir said some wheels you can change out to fit 10 mm in standard 135 q/r rear drop outs but unsure regards crank bros wheels.

I had a nickel last year nice bike but even with a good build kit it was weighty 31lb plus. Rode nice much more active than a heckler/superlight. It did everything you could ask it to do. But as above I am now looking at a bandit as it is as near to a cruz TRC but half the price. Personally I recon if it fits you, it is ni on the perfect trail bike.

At your weight and build bfe all the way buddy, i my be riding a different frame at the minute but there is no way i will ever sell mine off. if possable i will rebuild it up as a more fun/play bike later in the year. I recon the only real difference between the bfe and soul is it is tuffer stiffer in the backend bit more weight but hell your 16 stone so it just makes it more stable at speed….. and cheeper! get a good travel adjust fork later on and let it rip got a buddy just built one with 130 travel forks and is loving it. regards size it’s actualy 19 seat tube in lrg and im 6.3 and it looks fine to me they only have a 24inch TT and i ride it with 70/85mm stem for everything at that price it’s a bargin.

List as follows cotic Bfe,soul, evil soverign, ragley piglet, one one 456 to name but a few.
Me ive had and evil liked it but very weighty, now on a Bfe love it one frame i would keep above em all. Got friends who have 456’s like em can’t complain at those prices either all depends on what you want to do and how you ride. Only thing i would stick with is steel for me reason for me is just can’t take the beetings alloy give’s but then i’ve not had one since my santa cruz chameleon and that thing beat the crap out of me lol.. looking at what you discribe I recon a Cotic Soul is well worth a look. Good luck buddy.

Not riden one but have heard there pretty good only thing of note was it is a bit bindy due to the bush’s where as the bearing dw systems are much smoother. This came from a bike shop owner who had one as his own bike i met and had a chat to before getting my resont mistake ….

How tall mate?? Im 6.3 and had a xl sov liked it bit of a tank!! but other than that a very nice ride, did’nt notice issue with b/b though and i ride santa cruz full sus and am always clipping peddals on them lol. Now on a lrg cotic bfe much nicer frame lighter much more what i would call ping in the rear end (dame thing just flys on the down hills) run it with 150mm travel forks all round great bike! It is by far the closest frame in feel and ride ive come across since a ti hard tail i had (dekerf inplant) which was probably 6/7 time the cost plus it’s more than £200 less than the evil you are considering!. Note regards fit they seem to fit pretty much the same to me bearing in mind evil qoute vurtual toptube length on there frames so im sure the xl is 24.8 but straight lines at nearer 24inchs same as the bfe!!! which ever you choose, for me go the steel frame route over ally only because ive found the compliance much more fun to ride and you feel less beaten up after a long/hard ride! but then the last ally hardtail frame i rode was a santa cruz cham and there quit a hard rear end lol.
    Hope this helps a smidge.

Dame shame though at this price they don’t put a second barb in there so you can cut the hose down and sort it out, bloody fishers want £5 and guess what have non in stock. Good job i ride a gate so not alot left over. Only one ride on it but did seem a nice toy though and looking forward to a trip to wales in a few weeks to really try it out.

Hi ton im 6.3 with a 33inch inside leg ran a 70/80mm stem and could have gone either way regards seatposts and it fit great. Having said all that a lrg bfe fits just as well and there is a killer deal on them this month to £300 total steel excuse the pun

Hi all, for me i find the layback fine but then i do ride of the back a bit on most bikes. My only complaint with them is the weight with the triple it came in around 32lb which was fine but add the hammer and van forks and that went up a fair bit, great ride though very stable at speed. Moved it on and got a Bfe a while back and loving that closest frame ive found to my former dekerf TI Implant which was just a dream on the downhills total ripper. Gotta love the whole reasurgense of steel hardtails this past few years so many great frames to choice from.
    Fun fun fun.

Hi my mate who is the same hieght went for a xl giant anthem which did kinda fit ok used it for a year with no real problems and then by chance after a sunday morning ride where we were talking about bikes etc i mentioned the sasquish which turner do and lo and behold there was a 6pack on ebay usa going! lets just say he loves it cost a fair bit with import but well worth it he says. The other option of cause is 29er there are loads coming through now and they do seem to be much bigger on the frame sizing. To give you a clue the anthem had a 25.5 inch top tube and the turner is 27.5 makes my normal xl frames look like a small lol. He is on here goes by the name big cave dog. Good luck with your search.

    Hay foureyes it’s an xl.
Swisstony it rides more like a superlight but stiffer, plusher in the mid stroke but to be fair im still playing with the rear shox and just got new front end so not gonna give a full opinion better for me forsure, but the heckler is a fine frame but im not a big jumper or hard hitter i was just a big heavy guy who liked fast singletrack..
