Well I’m a big fan of formula since the heady days of the ora’s, still got a set now had them 6 years and still work fine about due a bleed though :D.
Now run R0/Rx and and an Oem variant off a cube bike I picked up cheep I believe these are based on the T serious.
All are nice brakes work great, great modulation, great power etc if bed in right pads last for ages and if you look about you can get some killer deals like these.

Perhaps the on one rolling chassis for £499 would be better for her to swallow if you’ve got bits lying about that is.

I had this on an on one I had and the 9speed Chain they surplyed didn’t mesh with the cogs! Totally fine in the stand etc but under load up hill it slip’t on the rear cog. We had to fit a half inch bmx chain in the end and it all meshed together fine and worked with out fail. Worth looking in to.

Buy the cube great spec for the price then 6 months you’ll know if you like/dislike 29er
Go buy the highball frame and swap it all over and sell of your cube frame.
That would have be my choice if I hadn’t already got a 29er and found It not my cup of tea.

Hi buddy I’ve got a lrg frame,2.2 conti xking tyres and Its coming in about 32/33 inchs where I would stand when stood over the bike at the toptube.
If your a lrg I’m thinking of selling mine as a rolling chassis, its done about 400miles mostly road to work and back if that might be of interest.

Cotic do a complete bfe build for £2000 and will supply to most bike shops my be do a deal with your lbs if you use them a lot you will need a we bit more money to add to it but I’m sure your shop won’t mind that I know mine is ok with it etc.
there a great bike and a good spec at that price.
To be fair to other comments on one are great value but there spec options are at best limited and a bit poor SRAM gears are ok more at cost to replace than shimano mechs etc and I’ve never got a good set of avid brakes from them on the two bikes I’ve had always needed bleeding multiple times till they got anywhere near working and I’ve always ended up splicing them with in months to.
Other option is to buy a frame you like with cash, and if your local store is willing use the 1000/1500 to buy the comports you want and the frame number is there for the vouchers use.
I did this last time I got a vocher myself. but as I said I get on well with my local shop and we used the frame number the way I said.

Yep kmc do a twin pack and connex a single link pack, bothdo the same main difference is kmc you do need the reverse pliers to get it apart and the connex you can do with your fingers as I did last Sunday when I snapped my mech hanger off and had to walk back 😀 both are about £8 only thing of not is the connex has a slight curve which does have to follow the cog curver or it tends to jump gear on the small cogs ok.

Welcome house mines just about pinned together now so should have an all in weight by tonight it’s a pretty normal build so far with only wheels being on the weightier side so will be interesting to see what my ultimate scales say.

Bare in mind Santa Cruz always come up a bit smaller than the average frame for there given sizing due to taking there measurements from a different place mention spesh regards top tube as they measure outside to outside (head tube/seat tube) not the usual middle to middle this means they come up about half an inch shorter if this makes any sense.
Up shot is I recon you’ll be fine with the medium

Best bet might be to email,Santa Cruz direct and see if they will A send a touch up paint out or B give you the paint code for the red. Every paint has a specific code so a good automotive paint surpler will be able to make something up.
    Good luck.

Well a little weigh in for those who might be interested to start with.
Lrg frame 4.4 lb that’s bare no bolts or seat clamp.
Xfusion slider forks taper’d 120 mm air rebound only 4.4 lb uncut steerer.
Wheels budget set I’m afraid, superstar set with stans flow rims, 4.8lb bare no adaptors
That’s all for now waiting for tyres to arrive next week still so it’s gonna be week end before I get close to a ride on it 🙁
    Owell 😥

Hi cream egg measure like a hundred times with spacers/stem fitted etc scribe it come down the tube about 2/4 mm from your mark. pipe cutter then just file it inside the tube (round file)and flat file on the out side till it has a rounded edge
Only problem then is fitting the star nut if your using one.
