Well, when the symptom is being tired, I think most people would suggest resting.
Just devote more time to sleeping. An extra hour a night is a lot of extra sleep a week. If you have no kids or issues with sleeping, that would be my solution

Sleep is amazing. Does amazing things. Do more of it and keep riding when you are awake

WEll… after a load of blah blah i sat thought, debated and decided, changed my mind 300 times…

I spent hours and hours checking various geometries on this, specs on that, this, that, this that… again again… then do i want this, do i want that..

I then clicked the button and went for it.

Very interested to hear how you rate it when it arrives.
I’m in a similar quandary, wanting something new, round that price, but not totally sure what I want/need. I had decided, more or less on the 2016 Anthem SX at £1599 until you posted that link to winstanleys…

Also can’t decide if i want a 29er or not. I’ve been restricted soley to an XC race 29er for the past 3 1/2 years and can’t remember what other bikes were/are like :?:

The Whyte looks a more capable machine but the Anthem (Based on my experience with my old 26″ one years ago) tells me it would be a more suitable machine for covering more ground quicker and still being perfectly good downhill.

You can always move the cage spring to the stiffer setting on a regular shimano road mech to help as well

    Crack, defect, light or whatever…

Why would you clamp a frame by the top tube in a workstand anyway? Just use the seatpost!

I don’t know whether its the frame alone or a combination of frame plus stock wheels, but there is a lot of lateral flex in it for a race machine. I would imagine most – if not all of it is from the stock wheelset though given my experience of off the shelf XC 29er bikes.

It looks awesome in the flesh mind.

My 4th XT Stages crank, 3rd warranty replacement, is again eating batteries. Only had it back since february. Fabulous. Gen2 improvements? The old ones lasted longer.

Only got experience of the TNT ones, they’re not exactly heavy and provide plenty of grip on off camber sheep tracks and grassy or rocky climbs and descents.

They feel like they roll as quick as Bonty XR2’S but with more grip.

Yea, it is a really great tyre.
Surprised actually on looking up their specs there that they claim only 60g extra for the TNT model. I assumed their whole range was much heavier on TNT than regular.
My non TNT was 605g out of the packet. Yea, i weighed it.

Perhaps going to order a Peyote to compare for a rear option. My Saguaro is starting to wear. (Also a superb tyre!)

Also using a Vittoria Barzo here on the front. Not the TNT one – the lighter version. Its very like a RoRon – but vastly cheaper. I like it a lot. I would imagine it would be a great rear option for sticky slippy courses. I have another one for that purpose but not used yet, making do with the existing Saguaro for easier rolling resistance.

Hi all. Sorry to butt in.
I’ve been after a power meter for a while but funds have prevented me from taking the plunge.

I have recently been offered a Powertap G3 wheel set (H+ Archetypes and a DT Swiss 240 front hub) for £350 in Good condition.
It’s from a guy in my club so I know they have been looked after.

The Powertap Hubs have always appealed to me as they seem easy to use and reliable.

Is there any reason not to go for it?

My G3 is one year old and currently about to be put in a box and sent back for the 3rd time in that period of ownership as it has gone out of range again.
If it was 2nd hand I would be paying for the work
My Stages on the MTB has been replaced twice, now on a G2 unit and it seems to be working ok after a few rides out, time will tell as the other units worked fine for the first few months too before problems started.

In short. I personally wouldn’t buy a powermeter that didn’t have warranty with it.

So far none fit thru axles.

Canyon 29er, 142×12 syntace axle, plus trailer. Following my older daughter round the course of last weeks race course trying to coach her and maneuver child 2 in the trailer round it.

No suspension on the croozer when I bought it, Never been needed. They sit in a bucket fabric seat that has air space below it and the bottom of the unit, so they do not get their backside battered over the rough stuff. Proof is in the amount of sleeping mine have done round various routes, on and off road.

Was the kids name referenced? From running reports for cycling club stuff I have been told its fine to publish pictures but not with names unless parental consent is given

I use an AKA up front on races with a lot of hardpack or any surface that has the potential to be loose where the tread won’t pick up anything and hold it. On Crests (29er) the profile is nice and round so great levels of grip all round the carcass and very predictable as well as fast. I run a Saguaro on the back almost exclusively. Have been tempted with a mezcal.

Have two Vittoria Barzo’s now to fit on the XC race bike. 606g each though so heftier than a racy ralph or ron, but the real light schwalbes are paper thin and a DNF waiting to happen on the majority of the irish XC race courses.

I’m looking at the 27mm rims to build up as an XC race only wheelset.
The flex in my crest wheels I race on now is frustrating.

I’m 65kg, I wouldn’t say I am anyway an aggressive rider but I get things wrong like anyone occasionally. I have put minor dings in one of my crests twice, so not too bad over a couple of years racing? LB have already recommended the 30mm rim? As if they don’t trust the 27mm rim themselves?

To be honest, I am more interested in the stiffness of the finished wheel, but Can’t figure out if the 30mm will be much stiffer if at all? Anyone using either or both? I am thinking of just getting the 27’s as they sound the tool for the job.

I had a set of these arrive yesterday…
    http://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/clearance-icon-ultra-11speed-wheelsets-2024.htm

Not ridden yet, but for £99 they are ridiculously light.
Mine weighed in at 1570g for the pair, including the rim tape which I am told is pretty heavy by most standards… the ultimate weight weenie grumble!

I’ve used CX50’s too I forgot to add, and as the guys above said, absolutely no guess work or wondering when setting up. They work really well. They don’t work on the spacing of my forks though unfortunately so I am stuck with the wider pull design ones.

There is nothing wrong with those tektro brakes. I have them on both race bikes. I would play about a bit with the set up, locking the wheels up shouldn’t be much of a problem.
5700 levers, hanger as low as the fork brace and seat stay bridge, and Swiss stop green pads on mine

Did he die the first time the saddle popped off the rails? Nah. And he won’t lose his balls if it comes off again you know.

The saddle in question in my scenario was an old SDG Bel Air. I didn’t even particularly like it. Maybe I don’t earn enough to lurk round these parts.

Wifes da sorted one out for me when I ran out of ideas. Vice between saddle rails with the ends of them in place, spread them out until the nose piece has had just enough bend back to get in under the lip

was simple once described how he did it

2% is well within the daily variability of any power meter? I certainly wouldn’t stress over it.

I also wouldn’t be changing my FTP unless it was at least a 5w change.

    What are the BB’s?

Swiss stop BXPs are available for £18.99 for 2 pairs. Greens for £17.44
Kool stops are £8.09 per end, so £16.18 for the same thing.

I have been very impressed with the swiss stops, I am sure the Kool Stops are good, but the pricing is a red herring
