Does it not see the HDD or just the files on it?

If it is just the files not showing up select the drive then press the green triangle button and select “show all files” (or something similar.)

This worked for a film on a USB stick of mine.

My first Saturday job when I was at school was as a pump attendant at a very busy fuel station. This was around 84-85. I once asked a wagon driver why he had just put a gallon of petrol in his diesel tank. “To stop it freezing” was his answer.

I am assuming that one gallon in an HGV’s fuel tank was such a small percentage to not affect it. I also assume that modern diesel now has additives to prevent this.

Some great photos. Love the dogs and the cat, but, sharkattack, more pics of that 205 GTI needed – best colour too.

6f5 is a specific graded crush fine, 6f2 would be a course version.

The grading for 6F5 and 6F2 are identical and for the OP purposes are the same thing. 6F5 is material specifically imported to a site, 6F2 can be “site won”.

The grading is quite wide and can range from 125mm to “dust” in varying percentages. Don’t try to lay surfacing straight on to that if you want a decent finish that will last. The material that others have referred to as crush and run (or crusher run) is effectively the same thing.

As wrightyson says, ideally it should be topped with 50-75mm of MOT Type 1 if you want a good finish laid to a fall that you can then lay surfacing on.

Out on the road bike around Rivington this morning. Lots of happy looking cyclists.

Some of the mountain bikers will be sat at home confused now though because of the two roadies that nodded or said hello to them. Don’t panic, that was probably just me and my brother. 😀

Went out on the road bike yesterday and got soaking wet. Was supposed to go out today but was a bit worse for wear (alcohol induced). Will be out on the road bike tomorrow for the last of 2012 and then again Tuesday for the first of 2013. Must try and ride my mountain bike more next year – I’ve only been on it about 6 or 7 times this year 😯

I like the idea of this. I am going to try the one photo a day from the other thread too.

The general knowledge section seemed particularly easy tonight. I only got 4 wrong. Dumbed down for the celebs?

Went out on the road bike in the pouring rain this morning. Disposable contacts and Evil Eyes with the amber lenses in, usually a brilliant combination.

But, after about 16 miles they had got to the stage where I could hardly see through them – first time it has ever happened, fogged up and water droplets staying on the lens. Took them off for the remainder of the ride with no issues. Rain was so heavy I don’t think the dust and grit stood a chance 🙂

Going to give the lenses a thorough clean to see if that was the issue.

I’m determined to properly learn to use my SLR this year

I bought my first DSLR at the end of October so not strictly a hobby started over the festive period but done lots of reading and practicing. Some reasonable results and plenty not so good. Intend to really get to grips with it in 2013.

I wear glasses full time and, as above, they cost a fortune so I don’t wear them on the bike.

I ride in either an older pair that I’m not overly bothered about or I also have some Adidas Evil Eyes with prescription clip-in inserts or contact lenses with the Evil Eyes (without inserts obviously!)

Of the above options the contacts are favourite even though I don’t wear them at any time other than on the bike.

Can you use iPhoto to view your flickr stream?

You can view photo sets in iPhoto ’11 (9.4.2)

iPhoto > Preferences > Accounts > “plus button in bottom left” > Flickr > Add

Then just follow the authorisation instructions.

The photos need to be in sets, for some reason it doesn’t seem to show the photostream.

From the way you have described it my gut feeling is that it will work; obviously with the usual precautions of exclusion zone below the lift etc. However, I have a nagging feeling that SWL changes drastically once the load is below the level of the tele-handler, even though your boom will be level, but I’m at home and haven’t got references to hand. They aren’t designed to be used as you describe.

My professional attitude is “What do your RAMS and Lift Plan say?” Required by LOLER Regs. You are using it as a crane and it should be treated as such.

Two SP30s in 27 years. Last one was about 13 years ago.

Used to get stopped fairly regularly in the early nineties when I was driving a modified Golf GTI (too low and too loud were the usual reasons but never got done for anything!) .

Once got stopped because the officer “thought my tyres were illegal”. Now funnily enough they were all brand new – less than a week old. The traffic officer then proceeded to go over my car in incredible detail looking for problems. He couldn’t find anything wrong and he allowed me to be on my way.

His parting words were “Well don’t do it again”. As I was driving a perfectly legal car in a perfectly legal manner I still wonder exactly what it was that I shouldn’t do again.

Agree with Hazeii, boredom was the real off putting factor for me.

I’ve bought and then got rid of two in the last ten years. I tried watching films; listening to music; Manning TFU and just getting on with it but just found it depressing. Maybe because mine was in the garage and the “scenery” was pretty uninspiring.

I am sure they can be of some use, obviously better than doing nothing, but I much prefer getting out on the road bike even if it is dark, cold and wet.

Good swap for a knackered 1gb Nano. 😀

Had a 54 plate 3 door manual from Aug 06 to Jan 08. Bought with 8500 miles sold at 39000 miles.

Had a front hub replaced under warranty otherwise nothing went wrong. Servicing reasonable – used Awesome GTI Store, highly recommended.

Averaged 31 mpg (calculated from fill ups not trip computer) over my 30000 miles.

Had 18s on, maybe a bit harsher than 17s but look so much better. Ran a MK1 GTI on coilovers for 10 years so don’t mind a hard ride (ooer missus). One of the car mags lapped various tracks “much” quicker on 17s if thats your thing.

Very capable car. Nice and civilised if you are being sensible, quick enough if you want to be a hooligan.

Seats very very comfy, 6 hour journey without a hint of backache. Not noisy either in my opinion.

Unlike iainc I had no issues with stone chips. Mine was metallic black if that makes a difference. VW paint is usually notoriously hard according to detailing geeks on their forums.

Got rid because I needed something bigger. Don’t need as big car now so would I get another. Yes.

Baroness von Drais turned up with a bag of these last week.

She won’t be making that mistake again in a hurry.

Might be a bit late to save your internal organs.

Had a similar problem with my wife’s iPhone. Downloaded and used the free software from here iPhone Backup Extractor[/url] and it worked flawlessly, recovered everything.

It does, obviously, rely on the fact that there is a backup to extract. If the phone has been connected to iTunes in the past I would be surprised if it isn’t backed up automatically.

My brother’s mate was leaving for Australia in 1991 and offered me one of these at a really good price. I know it would probably have been unreliable but could have been fun for a while.

derek_starship I love those Capri’s but have you seen the price of good ones!!!

    Thanks for that.

She loves camping and doesn’t bother about electric hook-ups etc. As long as there is a clean shower block she’ll be fine.

If you get an Xbox then he won’t be able to play Fifa11 (or any other EA game) online until he is 13. Unless of course you make a “mistake” when entering his d.o.b. 🙂

Other than that the Xbox is excellent. Can’t comment on PS3.
