Antlers last ages for our spaniel, make sure you get the hard ones not the soft ones designed for puppies though.

12 speed Shimano mech will work with a SRAM shifter, no problems here.

@the wanderer Either look at ebay Packlink, they’ve apparently reduced the prices down for courier (Hermes/UPS I think) to collect from your house to the same sort of level as you pay for dropping it off yourself. Or Parcelforce will collect from your house too, but it’s more expensive!

Think twice before ordering from Planet X .. ordered the bars, which seem ok. Half of my order hasn’t turned up though, even after chasing them multiple times!

Wire brush? Not sure a spray would touch it.

Got a replacement Deore HT2 bottom bracket once from Chain Reaction, under warranty. I think it only lasted around a month or so.. Learnt my lesson and only go for XT bottom brackets now, they last much longer!

Cateye Volt 300 here. Good flashing mode that drivers definitely seem to see.

I’ve got one of these, they are very good at keeping your arse dry, much better coverage than the old crud catcher!

We got a working cocker spaniel from a rescue, he was 6 months old at the time. Lovely dog, nice temperament.. but he came with a couple of issues, one being submissive urination (which I’ve since heard is quite common in cocker spaniels) and the other is that he hates being on his own, and suffers from seperation anxiety.

Very trainable dogs but also very stubborn too.

MTB marathon series is worth a look.. I rode the Builth Wells one last year, it’s in April, but it was a cracking day last year, dry and sunny, camping, pasta party and entertainment included :)

Pretty wet round there at the moment, be prepared to come back soaked! They need to look into improving the drainage :)

I emailed On one as well, but I need to return the incorrect tubes first – pain in the neck! If they just got it right in the first place.. !

Saddle level or tilted up a tiny bit is more comfortable generally. With the saddle tilted down more pressure is put onto delicate places (so I find!) Also chamois cream may help!

Sounds like we don’t have Geax tubes then.. mysterious

I ordered some and was surprised at the weight of them ~180g (same as any other tube), but then they were only £1.20 ish each!

Not sure what I expected for that, but they’re not exactly Ultralite..

Nice to see some working cockers on here – I’ve got a 9 month old who looks very similar to Crumpet, except ours hasn’t got much of a tail. His recall isn’t very good out of the house yet, so not sure if he’ll be out with the bike any time soon!

I’ve done a couple of these, and they are a good mix of bridleway, singletrack, with some fire road and on road sections. Which one were you thinking of doing?
