I watched it now and again hoping that Heather Mills' leg would fall off at some point but haven't seen it for a few weeks. I was just channel hopping there and Man Alive! Willy Holloughby has got the bad boys on show again!

I too have found the Jessops batteries to be much poorer much quicker compared to the Canon but you're right, hard to justify the cost of the Canon batteries when 7DayShop are punting them out at that!
I'll have a look at the cards aswell. I have Jessops vouchers sitting here. I was going to put them towards a new compact but I'll see what's out there.

    Cheers for that.
IIRC it was 7dayshop I got the camera from in the first place. I'll have a look.

Not boring, like exercise, not too small, great with kids and handy as a guard dog…

    I give you 'The Boxer'

    Kobe, Oz and Chyna.

you should really have called this thread 'tell me what breed you have and convince me to get one' 😀

I was going to be fitting CCTV for security purposes at some point anyway but this has brought it forward.
I had considered a PC based system but can't be bothered with the cabling as getting to any of the PC will be a pain. Whereas I can just base the system in a cupboard and not have to worry about the cable runs affecting decorating etc.

I had suggested a hardtail with road tires or indeed a flat barred road bike however she made her mind up on this and I must admit she's made a very good choice.
    She'll be wanting a vote next! 😉 😀
I had a shot today and it does go very well indeed. Fast, efficient and comfortable. It'll be great for her 12 mile (round trip) commute.
She plans to park at a Park and Ride and cycle from there building up to the full commute of 30 miles.
    That's ma' girl! 😀

    Steve_b77,

Unsurprisingly, my wife has shown interest in the handbag sales you've spoken of 🙄
Mail in profile. Does your wife know she has them to sell though? 😆

I just asked her what site she bought stuff from and it looks like times are hard in the handbag sector.
    http://www.hudsonsleathershop.co.uk/
I got her Radley luggage set and workbag from there a couple of birthdays ago and they were very well priced…too well priced apparently!
    Founded 1801! Shame I s'pose.

    Duckman,

If you can get yourself to McArthur Glen in Livingston then there's a Radley Outlet there. Previous seasons and some seconds with substantial discounts.
IMO They are well made with good quality materials. As always with these types of things, if it's relatively expensive and becomes popular then it's easy for some to label it 'Chavvy'
My wife likes handbags, she has some 'reasonable' priced bags and others that could have bought a decent bike!! But she likes the Radley ones most of all (must be 20+ of them in her handbag cupboard!) Some of the limited edition bags she has seem to be fetching more money than the RRP she paid some time ago.

    Cheers

I'll have to see what Mrs McGrew thinks. I really like the idea of the holiday but just can't help but think it's going to be too hot.

    Yeah, I know, MTFU 😀

My wife went for a Giant CRS Alliance for her commuting duties however she's still using the car at the mo having waited 6 ****' months on it arriving! It's meant to be here this week…breath is not held! She weighs next to pretty much **** all but I'm assured the carbon bits are exceptionally strong and would probably keep your mate separated from the tarmac 😀
An excellent bike for the money and worth considering if Giant eventually get their act together and get any of the 'kin things in the country! 😡

The job is a good one. Far from the job I joined some 15 years ago but as has been said some good changes others not so good.
You'll be lucky to find a brigade taking anyone on in their ops dept as they'll be too busy bringing in more civies to do meaningless support roles. 😉
Joking aside, there has been major funding cuts (as everyone has been suffering) and as such they have no money to take on new starts. They'll just leave the waiting list to run out.
The job is so much more 'corporate' now with shift officers/managers riding a desk most of the day (which got to me so much I'm going back to FF!) and the quieter stations the FF's spend more time sticking up smoke detectors, chasing targets than training or attending incidents.
If you can get retained then it would be advantageous. I am wholetime and retained and my brigade is very keen to have guys serving dual roles.
In preparation for application get yourself to college and do nationally recognised supervisory management qualification as they're lapping that kind of *hit up nowadays. 'All brains and no common sense' is the new tradesman for the fire service! We are seeing more and more people leave the job with only a few years under their belt. This is either due to being disillusioned with the job or it's just a nice thing to add to the life experience thing on the CV. Changed days indeed!
Again, any info needed my email's in my profile.

    Cheers

    Paul.

You'd definitely be better off in a proper campsite with proper facilities.

Hmm, think I'll make a phone call to get my usual Fort William port of call. Thought the camping would add to the experience but somewhere with a roof, showers 'n' stuff will no doubt keep the wife happier. 😀

Doing it as a 3. Team 'Fire and Nice.' Me, a mate from work and Mrs McGrew.
Did our first event ('puffer) this year and enjoyed it that much I signed us up for 10UTB.
When are the camping passes on sale?
I see 'The transition area' mentioned. Does this mean it's not like the 'puffer where you can base yourself from your camp?

I'm sitting here wearing my Seiko Orange Monster:

Very nice watch. I also have a Seiko titanium black samurai:

Which, if I'm honest I prefer. I did however have to put it in for a service last year as it was losing a lot of time (that said I don't know how well it was looked after prior to me buying it as I bought it second hand from a watch forum)
Value for money wise Seiko are very good IMO.

It is fraud and if it's shouted about often enough on public forums and the likes the game will get stopped.
As with all things like this there are loopholes. If you're going to use them then sshhhhhhhhh! 🙂
I could suggest using a persons C2W bike on the days they choose not to.

    Have a Google for 'Kerso'
He's a seller on eBay. Despite never having bought from him myself I've only heard good things about his service and prices.

    Twice a week minimum.
Foam lance, rinse, 2 bucket wash using a lambs wool mit. Polished with Werkstat Carnauba kit at least once a fortnight. Clayed and machine compound/polished as necessary (once, maybe twice a year.)
Inside usually needs done once a month, likewise with the engine bay.
People always mention how well my cars are kept. I find it a very therapeutic and relaxing process and take a bit of pride in having a nice clean car. My uncle has a bodyshop so it'd been installed in me to look after my cars.
FWIW I also clean and polish my bikes after use. I'm a simple beast, I like shiny-shiny 😀
I always buy my cars with a colour I know will polish up well. Looking at a black X5 at the mo, that'll be a LOT of polishing! 😀

    1. Boxers
    2. Would like a Bernese mountain dog but couldn't be arsed with the grooming tbh.
    3. We're getting a Bobtail Boxer next (although I've always had a soft spot for Rotties)

Kobe (now re-homed) Ozzy and Chyna.

    Oz (6yrs)

My wife has ordered a Giant CRS Alliance. Probably a bit too relaxed for your needs but it's a nice bike. (well, it better be!) She has been waiting almost 6 MONTHS!!! for it! F'kin ridiculous really. Apparently it's due here week 8 but her breath isn't held! Seemingly Giant carbon / Alliance frames are all delayed.

just returned from a fire in some poor bugger's house and have no doubt we'll be out to an alarm at some student's residences in a moment!
