Great ‘noise’ from you guys at the campsite!
I got a “There’s a fatty!” I hoped it was in reference to the bike.
Traveled up as a trio, registered as a pair and after my teammate did a triple somersault with pike at the stream crossing on his first lap I rode the event as a solo!
Was mentally prepared for a trio, and had the fuel for a pair. Got 4 laps in, which under the circumstances, I was happy with.

Interesting subject…Utter **** of an arse-hat presenting it.
Managed to suffer him for all of 15 mins. I had a 48k and was enjoying reminiscing but couldn’t put up with him!

I went to order my rolling chassis this morning and *bang* it disappeared!
Apparently it is due to a shortage in tyre stocks. The guy I spoke to on the phone was perhaps a little too honest and told me that there is more profit in the whole bike sales and as such the decision was made to withdraw the bundle offer.
I literally had it in my ‘basket’ then went to check it out and it was no longer there! Angry
I’ve got a Whippet and PX Carbon Pro Red and had a 456 and have had good dealings with OO and PX but have left a little disappointed this time. I appreciate there has to be a cut off when such decisions are made but it was like a member of staff in the supermarket take an item out of my basket as I walked down the aisle. :(

    I’d highly recommend RX Sport.
    Fantastic, trouble free service.
I bought the Oakley CrossLink Sweep with the XTRActive transition lens for £170! Wanted them for going away on holiday so they did a 3 day turnaround for me.

There was something on ‘Sunday Brunch’ this morning on Ch4 about this. Some guy that works for Aardman plugging the latest home use software they helped develop ( I think ) You’ll see it on 4oD (although it’s not on there yet,) it was in the last 30 mins of the show iirc.

Now I know it’s easy to be wise after the event, but surely a shakedown ride or two is a good idea, whatever the bike?

True enough but irrespective of where the ride would have taken place the end result would have been the same.
Fortunately I couldn’t be arsed that year so I just helped another team and slept instead :D

You haven’t test ridden either bike yet your making your mind up based on what some other people say on a forum?… 8O
You also seem to be a little too excited about this ‘chip’
I’ve got some new clothes I bought from this Emperor guy I know. ‘You interested? ;)

My Whippet fell apart on its first outing which was more than disappointing.
The non driveside crank arm fell off and the rest slipped out damaging the press-fit bottom bracket which, half way through a lap, solo, at the Strathpuffer wasn’t ideal.
After that I kind of lost interest I the bike and hung it up in the garage for a few months, cursing it every time I saw it.
Since then I’ve had it out maybe a dozen times or so. 10UTB and a few local rides. One of the reasons I bought it was for events so I could be a bit quicker but I rode my Golden Willow back to back at 10UTB and was a descent bit quicker. Perhaps that was down to familiarity more than anything else but I expected a wee bit more from the bike.
Looking back perhaps a C456 with a U-Turn fork would have made more sense for me as it would be a little less focused but I would rate the Whippet as: Okay.
I’d perhaps look at some of the Chinese carbon frames you can get on eBay and see if you can build cheaper. I particularly like the look of the Niner Air Carbon-a-likes that are out there.

Is it the hanging that the brakes don’t like? Should I flip them every so often?

if he wins and delivers the photo it should be the subject of that weeks art club. Could do a lovely scraperboard.

Yup, I could sell the whole exercise to her as art. Interesting approach. :D

I think we need a pre-emptive pic of Mrs BMcG to see whether we want to vote for him

    What and spoil it?
What is it they say? ‘The best things come to those who vote for no.10’…or something like that ;) :D

My hair used to grow up the way and I had quite the ‘fro going on. As such I’ve shaved my head for many, many years. Don’t have to worry about how it looks.
However I am mighty pleased with my pubes.

This really is a horrible situation for you all.
KC reg doesn’t mean much to me. As far as I’m concerned it’s as much a means of collecting money rather than keeping a close eye on who’s breeding what.
I had experience when we bought our first Boxer whereupon I visited the breeder off the back of a local add (despite having done loads of research nationwide) and fell in to the ‘ah, look! A puppy’ trap. The guy could have sold ice to the eskimos and we were suckered. We took the pup home, had her checked by a vet (whole other story) and then 7 months later she dropped down dead during a walk due to aortic stenosis. I went back to the breeder and was greeted with …’So what!’ I’m not proud of what I did then but lets say he remembered me each time he looked in the mirror for the next few weeks!
I then went down the lines of finding out as much as I could about them (after the horse has bolted) and found out they had been stopped from doing Boxer Rescue as they were breeding with rescue dogs and fabricating pedigrees! There was much more besides. I now have 3 Boxers and whenever we’re out with them you can be sure someone will ask where I got them from. I can then tell them and ensure they avoid them. However I’ve been assured they’ve now given up!
It’s a puppy minefield out there but the advice above is all very good. Unfortunately you are where you are now. The guard dog thing has me confused though? A spaniel guard dog?
I hope this all works out for you. When buying a dog it’s research, research and research some more then after that do some more research and get recommendations!

    must…not…buy…another…watch!
I do like watches but don’t like to spend daft money on them. The ones I wear the most are a MR G titanium G Shock that is +15 years old, a titanium Polar, a titanium Seiko Samurai, a titanium….. do you see a pattern forming :D
I do have a couple of Seiko Monsters, a couple more G-Shocks, a Toy Watch, a couple of Tags and a few more bits and pieces. A few of them I’ve bought second hand (pardon the pun) but they were all in ‘as new condition. I think I will have a rationalisation at some point and buy some nice understated ‘bling’ but atm I like having options :D
I like the 5 Diver above though, very nice. Simple, purposeful and practical.

We got fed it at a ‘VIP’ day at a local rugby club.
It didn’t really appeal to me so I asked if there was a vegie option.

The voting was just re-opened today as there were a couple of instances of irregular voting patterns.
The other day there was one person 2500 votes ahead of the rest! Nothing like a subtle bit of cheating! :D

I lost all enthusiasm for all cycling last year and am suffering because of it. I will get back out on the bikes this year!
The weather was a killer for me last year. I don’t mind getting rained upon whilst out but trying to get myself motivated to walk out of the door to the garage in the pissing rain to then head out…nah, couldn’t do it and last year it just pissed down all sumer long here.
Bought myself a hybrid for commuting purposes this year so we’ll see how it goes… <doesn’t hold breath> :D
