I just had the same dilemma, I don’t think there’s anything in it really but decided to order some Flows from JRA which were slightly cheaper. Just waiting for them to be built now!!

I’ve got a Maxxis Tomahawk 2.3 in the back and there’s almost 10mm clearance on the v2.

No problem on the V2, 38mm (31.6 internal) LB rims.

Could be because the new Fenix 3 HR is out soon which has the heart rate monitor built in – if that’s important to you?

Hope told me they were only doing the spacers etc for their front hubs, not rear hubs.

I’ve just had my rear LB rim re-built onto a new Hope Boost hub for £195 and will sell the old hub to recoup some of the outlay so won’t be too expensive.

Anyone want a nearly new black Pro 2 Evo 40t (32h) 12×142 hub with xd driver?!

That’s true Northwind, to be honest I was going to get some of the 29mm stuff from Superstar but couldn’t wait!

Having said that when you factor in the tape filling the dip where the holes are even the 29mm might leave this problem on the 30mm(IW) rims?

I have an 057 from XMI Play and the Shimano E Thru one fits that. It comes with the nut that you secure into the dropout with that little retaining screw.

    Hope that helps!

I was debating the same thing. Just got 35mm LB rims and put the tape I had on which I think was 21mm – covered the holes easily enough but nowhere near full width. Anyway tyres (Specialised) went on easily, put some Stans fluid in, went up with a track pump straight away and held air overnight. I ran them at 20 & 23ish psi and survived the first ride without any burping or squirming, very impressed!

Had the same dilemma and decided to go for the new cartridge in my Float 34. Only had one ride on it so far but seems loads better. It was £50 fitted at Mojo, I guess the float is cheaper than the talas, well worth it I think.

Not sure if you’re looking for the old ones or new ones but I just picked up a set of M615’s from bike-discount.de for £80 which is hard to beat.

I’m normally a medium but got a large and it feels perfect for me. I’m about 5’10” and 31″ inside leg. Using a 60mm stem and plenty of room for the Reverb too.

I think you need one of those integrated type headsets, like the FSA one that you put in the Kinesis FF29. I’ve just got an IP 057 from China and ordered one with it, only got it today so haven’t tried it yet but I understand you just push the bearings in and tension it all up with the normal stem bolt. Hope that makes sense, I think Bliss Bikes do those headsets, not sure if your Hope bearings will be the right size though as the right ones have a bevel on to get a tight fit.

Well I decided to go for one of those Chinese frames in the end, ordered it last week. From the tracking number i saw it was sent on Friday evening so you can imagine how gob smacked I was when I got home from work today there it was! Seems like it missed customs out completely! From a quick inspection it looks great, its one of these, can’t fault the service from the guys there:

I went for a 73mm BB and its got a 142×12 rear end. All in with custom Matt/gloss paint job, headset, spare mech hanger, Paypal fee and shipping it came to £420.

Only trouble is it got here so quickly I haven’t got all the bits for the build yet, will post some piccies later in the week.
