Haha, been riding some proper cheeky stuff, the few ramblers we’ve seen can’t praise us enough for getting out there for a ride. Hollins cross yesterday there was 2 people!!!

However, heritage trail – park ranger wasn’t happy : )

They’ve been opening gates, egging us etc its mint.

been given the dressing down by me boss for wearing shorts & a white tshirt. You look like a student not staff, I pointed out that her son who works here wears trainers, trackies & a hoodie all year round and another member of staff rarely buttons his shirt up past his belly button & is covered in tats…. So today I’m in hope dh shorts & a gay pride tshirt 🙂

Love to see someone take a mobility scooter down Royce clough!

Be odd to see how it turns out, I.e will the chicken line to the left become the main route & just get wider & wider?

Never thought much of tubeless until I discovered ust RQ’s

Loving it, never been faster. The not being able to break is helping.

Loved working in the kitchen in the heat/busy days, proper mad rush.

    +1 can’t say as I’d get sacked

All over the peaks has been bizarre these past few months, like a dust bowl. Having to empty my shoes of dust is a Novelty

I was brushing dust off my teeth yesterday 😀 need to stop grinning like a loon

I’ve never ridden so much! Just slow it down & visit more pubs : ) although one hike a bike ride did have an average speed of 1mph

Chef’s arse. We used to mix chilli’s in with the sudocrem in the kitchen. Nothing worse than expecting instant soothing release only to receive the worst pain imaginable 😀

Kinda know what you mean. I got bored too, always wanting to find more features and bigger stuff but injury has put that too bed. Just enjoying riding the less gnar trails atm but +1 faster and backwards – some are far better the other way round.

What about Manchester Mountain bikers – ride in the peaks, yorkshire, wales, lakes, alps, cumbria.

There’s 10 rides this week alone from cut gate, marple to the alps & wales.

New members i’m sure are always unwelcome 😉

@iain – would you be up for leading a sneaky ride round that way? Must start & finish at pub : )

I’ve got Ice tech rotors bcos they are 20 quid and are pretty robust, very well made it seems and they look mint!

It took me at least three attempts to get through the first 100m after the gate with anything approaching fluidity.

The top bit still gives me the willies. Love it. Cave dale is almost the perfect bit of trail.

b)Get an OS 1;25000 map and look at it. No really, *look* at it.

c)Then rearrange your work life so you work at weekends and can ride during the week

I can go months without touching the beast, jacobs ladder etc – said before but get a map and go for a wander

I never thought I’d say this but having bought a set of the Deore’s for my Fatty last week, I reckon they’re actually better than the Hope’s on my other bikes which cost about 3x as much
And this is coming from someone who’s a bit of a Hope fanboy!

+1 just the hope’s are nicer too look at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnN2ASlkP3A – this guy/girl has got some of the best go pro videos of the peaks going. Probably could ride most places on a rigid but what’s the point

Loving it, bit sweaty mind but it’s worth it! Proper 8 hr rides in the sun are unbeatable, makes all those grim rides in the dark, grim driving rain worth it

You could ride almost all of the roads in the peaks here on your rigid ss 😀

As for mtb 140/150/160mm HT/FS big ass tyres, rims etc reign supreme over here – there’s all sorts from cling on and hope, to fast and flowy, to cavedale.

If you take your rigid ss down cavedale please film it

Paint the floor! Selves/draws everywhere along one wall, boxes from Ikea worked best for me, left a 2 gap at the bottom for shoes etc.

Tea facilities & a stereo also a must

Convert the talas into floats, otherwise big rim, tyres & brakes.

Nope, I used shimano ice tech rotor with my hopes

Don’t hear about many hope brakes which fail, just lack of maintenance or care…

I do miss being able to feather the brakes a little then in oh shit squeeze the shit out of the lever & stop myself dead, unless its wet : p

Oh and the pad life – sintered pads last for 1000s of gritty, muddy miles!

same with our BT drac! usually just goes in up to his chest – he can’t get enough of the hosepipe atm – even dragging it around with him!

Labs left in kitchen/conservatory worries me tbh, gotta leave the doors open and a paddling pool!

29er’s fault. Sell it whilst you can

Can’t go wrong with hope at all but the new shimano’s just outclass them! Could always try the new deore’s – for 30odd quid can’t go wrong
