Haven’t you been struck with the ban hammer yet?

Is the board rotten all the way to the wall? Had similar recently, on one side of the bathroom the boards were soft but there was a double beam along the wall so it was possible to cut along there and replace. On the other side the board wasn’t soft, but went under the wall into the next room. I just cut along the wall and put in a noggin at 90deg to the beams, to support the new chipboard.

The question is, are people relating the cost of the car to their gross or net income?

I’ve stayed in sitges many times with work, as there is a large proving ground that the majority of most of the European car manufacturers use about 35 minutes drive from there.

It is a really nice town and well situated for Barcelona / elsewhere. I think there is a train to Barcelona.

As mentioned above, I believe it is the gay capital of Europe but I’m not sure why that would deter you. Infact, the bar man in the hotel seemed to have out free drinks to those he liked the look of, so if you play your cards right you could have free beer on holiday! 🙂

Have a look at decathlon road bikes. Excellent value for money, and well within your budget.

If you’ve not ridden a road bike before, then it will be such a new thing that i wouldn’t worry about comments such as ‘not climbing well’

Looks fantastic, what a great amount of effort you have put into that. As it is, I like the spotlights.

How about a Focus hatch? Handle well, good sized cabin, and a fair bit cheaper too.

For the floor it is worth considering a 2 part epoxy paint, although it is a little cold to be doing it now, so it could take some time to harden off.

I got mine from this guy on ebay

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-PACK-EPOXY-RESIN-GARAGE-INDUSTRIAL-FLOOR-PAINT-VARIOUS-SIZES-COLOURS-/331454599236?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Paint_Varnish_MJ&var=&hash=item4d2c3bd044

You might want to use an acid etch to prepare the surface first.

I just used a cheap white masonry paint from screwfix. 2 coats was plenty, but painting onto breeze blocks/bare brick is a pain. For the hassle of putting a layer of pva on, I decided just to go straight on with masonry paint

Well worth going for a couple of days trip from Vegas, for me one night was plenty in Vegas!

We stayed in Flagstaff which is South of the canyon and about 4 hours (from memory) from Vegas and about an hour to the Canyon. I was there with work though so there may be better places to stay that are closer.

You’ll pass over the Hoover dam which is also worth a couple of hours of your time.

If I were you I would get a cheap hire car (ours was a Chevy Impala which was cheap and v comfy) and explore it a little yourself. I found it to be quite awe inspiring just from the sheer scale of it.

Ok – apologies then, I didn’t realise you had mastered the previous assignment.

What I would say is think about what you want the software to do from one program loop to the next – i.e.

    Program loop 1 – draw a circle of radius r, in position x1, y1
Program loop 2 – delete circle of radius r in position x1, y1, draw circle of radius r in position x2, y2
Program loop 3, delete circle of radius r….. and so on.

Then think about how you might use different types of loops (for, while etc) to achieve what you want. Remember that coding is just a means to an end, you need to understand exactly what you want it to do before you start trying to write your code. Write it down in pseudo code or even a flow chart before you start, and then you have your code ‘requirement’ in front of you.

Java isn’t what I use day to day, so I can’t help you with the syntax, but there are plenty of resources about for that.

I haven’t read your previous thread to the very end, but it appeared to me that you gave up on that task eventually, and now you need to use that piece of code as a starting point, you are running into further difficulty – especially if it has taken you a day on this latest task and you are still none the wiser.

I would suggest (if you haven’t already) going back to the first assignment, fully understanding how the different loops work, and then starting again with a fresh set of eyes. What they are asking you to do shouldn’t be that difficult if you understand the code, at the moment I get the impression you are stabbing about in the dark with it

Apologies if this sounds harsh, it isn’t meant to be!

Do you have a company credit card? Just go to currys at lunch and buy the most expensive mouse and keyboard you can find and book it to expenses. The time / money spent complaining will far outweigh the cost of an expensive mouse!

Lots of strips. I picked some up from toolstation for less than £20 each if I remember correctly.

+1 for painting the walls white – this will make a huge difference to the levels of light. Also consider painting the floor with an epoxy resin type paint if you can – look on ebay for this.

When it comes to storage, its good to have big shelves etc, but also consider where you are going to put smaller items/bits and bobs. Some kind of drawer/parts bin type system will help keep the place neat and tidy.

When I built my bench, I built a large drawer (which runs on ball bearing runners from screwfix ~£10), that is about 1m wide, which now holds a variety of tools, and is very handy. This is much cheaper than buying tool storage chests from the likes of Halfords, although it is less portable.

So we’ve failed today’s literacy test already then it seems!

I would think that slagging the OP isn’t going to do your reputation much good for future classifieds sales, or actually resolve the issue.

I don’t understand why you can’t provide a tracking number; did the courier not email it to you?

Very true, but it is probably a case of minimising the risk of contamination. The more you allow the dealers to do, the more chance there is for contamination or build errors. I work with these kind of transmissions on a daily basis and if it were me I would want a replacement transmission, and that is why the only way I would have a car with a dct would be under warranty!!

    bamboo

If I were you I would give some serious consideration to getting rid of the car having already experienced issues with the gearbox and then doing a DIY repair on the hydraulics. Modern hydraulically controlled automatic transmissions of all varieties are very sensitive to hydraulic contamination, and as you know can be expensive when they go wrong. The reason that vw don’t let dealers work on the transmissions is partly because they require cleanliness, and also they are complex systems whereby a fault with one component could result in any number of different symptoms.

The kitchen utensil trays are excellent value for money and if you build/acquire any drawer units for tool storage they do a good job of keeping things organised – they cost in the region of £1 each, and are well worth it

The plastic bag dispensers for £1.50 which you can mount on the wall and then use as garage rag dispensers are very handy too

That is suggesting that they think there is either a fault with the abs sensor, or the abs sensor tone ring which is on the driveshaft and is what the sensor reads. It seems to me like they are throwing the kitchen sink at it, it is likely to be one sensor or one tone ring; it is unlikely that both sensors and both tone rings are faulty. I’m not sure if there is a valid reason for means that they can only change both driveshafts at a time, but if they do need to replace the driveshafts (because the tone rings are damaged), then why are they also replacing the sensors?

Look for one with a variable height top tray – ours doesn’t have this, and the spinning spray bar which sits beneath the top tray hits the plates/chopping board/anything remotely of useful size that sits in the main compartment below, so we have to load the dishwasher in a very specific way to prevent this.

Also a quick wash and time remaining display would be good

Perhaps worth signing up for a free trial of Which? magazine as they have group tests with some objective measurements.

Larger memory hudl? Aren’t they all the same memory capacity but they have the ability to expand memory via microsd?

Hudl. Just over your budget at 129, but if you have any tesco vouchers you can double their value, so £65 of vouchers would get you a hudl

Moseley and Sparkbrook aren’t what I would call walking distance from the city/shopping centre though.

Pushkar had come up in a google search, but as it is on Broad St I assumed it might be best avoided!
