IIRC Select all the lines to be extended, choose the Connect Combine tool in Single Object Connect mode, hold the Option key, click on the end point of any of the lines to be extended, click on the line you want them extended to. Haven't used in about 18 months, though.

electric, mixer or thermostatic; high or low pressure?

We've just ordered an Ideal Standard Alto Ecotherm thermostatic mixer shower (mainly because they're easyish to fit and Ideal Standard gave me a good deal on one).

You can find good deals on some Grohe showers too, which are excellent quality. Screwfix have one for about £140 at the moment.

Rab Vapor rise jacket. I've had various soft shell type things over the last few years and haven't found anything that comes close to being as comfortable in as wide a range of conditions as my old vapor rise top. My next soft shell will definitely by a vapor rise. They also feel very nice next to the skin.

Like mine a lot. Just bought some more for the GF's bike as they were so damn cheap on Ribble last month.

I've recently bought hope hoops pro II with crest rims and, although it's early days yet, I can't detect any real loss of stiffness over my previous DT 5.1 rims, and the tyre profile is almost identical.

5'7" on a small prophet and it fits great. Felt a little short in the TT when I bought it, but I soon got used to it and really wouldn't want it any bigger. 70mm stem and 10mm layback post BTW.

I'm happy to pay a bit more in my LBS, but that's only because they always give me excellent service. I don't, and can't afford to, buy everything there, but i like dealing with them, so use them when I can. Keep up the good work 18bikes.

18bikes do 3 schwalbe tubes for £10, which is marginally over your budget. Might be worth a shout?

Driclor does work really well – you can get it from boots. It can work too well, though, and can make you itch like crazy.

It's not amazingly central, but I can wholly recommend The Ship Inn in Kirkby in Furness. Still only 15-20mins drive from Coniston.

We had about 6 imacs in my old office and had to send most back for major power supply or hard drive faults at least once a year. The desktops seemed to fare better, but not amazing either. If you're using CAD, I think only Vectorworks & Archicad are directly compatible with the MAC OS.

If i could manage with xc717s on a HT then I would imagine either would be tough enough.

It certainly hasn't Tony – she's properly bemoaning the fact she's off the bike for so long. Nothing as minor as broken bones will put Kate off! Thanks for creating such a great venue to play in.

Cheers folks. RD, I don't think she'd like me calling her a heroine some how.

I've got some unused On-One Mungo bars you could have for a tenner plus postage. Fit either mtb or road stems quite happily.

Talking about tough ladies – I think my GF should have a post event spot prize for her resolve and determination at the weekender. She crashed 3 times in her timed DH run and still managed to finish with a very respectable time of 3.22. When she got to the finish line she looked like she was in a lot of pain with badly cut and bruised legs. Her coccyx was also very painful. Despite this and a very bad night's sleep because of it, she still rode the XC the next day completing 3 laps and taking 8th in the senior women's race. After a couple of days without being able to sit properly, she went to A&E yesterday to find out she has a fractured Coccyx and won't be able to sit properly, let alone ride, for the next few weeks. Well done Kate.

321s or 521s would be fine for that width. I've just gone to Stans Crest from EN321s, and they give an almost identical tyre profile, but save 230g per rim. They're obviously not as strong, but I never really needed the beef that the 321s gave me. If you want tough, the Stans Flow is still lighter than a 521 by some way and arguably stronger – it's also a little wider.

Get in touch with Si & Emma at freeride Spain. they're based in Lanjarron just down the road. A couple of their rides actually pass through Orgiva on their way home. Great riding and great company.

Great weekend. Had a really good time despite my very average performance (well, very below average in the trials!). The only thing I missed from last year was Brant on the mike. The actual riding this year was much better than last year, though – I actually enjoyed the XC.

I've got a couple of pairs of the trek badged ones, which are probably the same. They do fit really well, but they're looking quite worn after not much use. I'm sure MBUK will be giving some more away soon with different branding on them!

I had looked at some of the Vitra ones before. I assume that all vitra models are the same quality.

Funky Monkey – you'd recommend them over the Carron or Ideal Standard ones then?

the new revelation World cup (150mm but can be reduced to 130 probably) will apparently weight 3.28 pounds when they're released. Big money, though.

I also have a Worx – I got it from Homebase, but I believe they're a separate entity and can be bought elsewhere. I've been really impressed (had it for about 2 years). I do a need my corded one for big jobs, but for general joinery etc it'd great. My dad was impressed enough to bin his Bosch and replace it with one.

My Ardent's sidewalls didn't seem to last that well, but my Advantages are about 6 months old and look as good as new.

IIRC Maxxis are good as they have a reasonable bead and nice rubbery sidewalls. Panaracer are bad as they have loose beads so are difficult to seal.

Is it a Trance X? If so, I think they're already a steep bike, so by dropping fork travel, it'll be steeper again. How old are your Rebas? Newer ones can certainly be changed to 120mm.

I haven't had them long, but the Altura Pro Gel bibs I've got are extremely comfy compared to anything Endura I owned before, and are only £50.

Yep, I made a visit today for some Hoops – Si was helpful as ever. it's nice to know there'll be a friendly face when you go in belonging to someone who knows what he's talking about and actually gives a damn (Si or matt). Great shop.

Jamie, I think 18bikes sell standrad proII hope hoops at £110 front and £185 rear.

I read that about Crests too, but a friend of mine who works for JRA reckons they'll be more than stiff / strong enough for the kind of trail riding I do in the Peak from what he's seen of the builds they've done with them over the last few months. I also don't think Hope would replace 355s with them on hoops unless they were confident they would manage as an all round XC rim for general riding.

Does that mean there's a pair there for me then Si?

    Once only.

I was riding along a dual carriageway on a tour across Turkey a few years ago. It was a fast road, but pretty empty. I was riding on the nice wide hard shoulder. The first time i noticed the bus that hit me was also driving on the hard shoulder was when it's indicator glass smashed on impact with my bar end. I got spun off into the gravel at the side of the road and was quite badly cut up, but amazingly the bike was fine and managed another 3000 miles on the trip. The bus driver felt guilty enough that he detoured from his route (with a full complement of passengers) to show me where the nearest hospital was for a check up.
