I don't think vibration will damage it. I would say you would have to be more worried in case you have a stack. I have a padded laptop sleeve i use.

i find the trick is not to over pack if you want to just use jersey pockets.

i still have a MTB mentality when on the road so brings lots of, I’m sure unnecessary, tools hence I use a large saddle bag.

your spending way too much on a commuter! you really don’t need anything as fancy. You’ll never be able to leave it unattended.
My advice, spend around £400 – £500 on a commuter, bank the rest.

This is what i use as my 50km round trip commute:

It’s is more than enough for the job; Carbon fork, road gearing, 700cc wheels, rack mounts, simple brakes, takes mudguards, inconspicuous.

    FWIW i’m 5’7 and ride a 15″ with a 410 seatpost.
So I would guess 17″ if you want it chuckable.

that sound like a good idea. thing is if i straighten it I sill need some method of securing it to the Door as trhe original clip has broken. Could I then try to reglue?

live in Sweden. We have wet rooms both upstairs and downstairs. all the houses in our development have them. in fact pretty much all the houses built since the 1960’s have them. they’re awesome 😀

sorry – only women look good driving convertibles.

men driving them are almost always bald, almost always have a middle age spread and always looking a reet freekin’ to$$er.

    enjoy! 🙂

got this for £400. love it. skinny tyres (700c), road gearing, rack & mudguard mounts, carbon fork, fantastic geometry.

second the pannier and rack. makes total sense on a commuter bike*

    * I’m assuming the bike is dedicated for that purpose

commute is 15 miles and is a bit rough in places (through some woods at one point). a full on roadbike (which i do plan to get) would be totally impracticable for the run for various reasons:
bike needs to carry a rack
have enough clearance for spiked tyres in winter
have enough clearance for full on mudguards
    come in on budget
    not look bling
    swap parts with MTB
that being said the Flight 01 is very near to a flat bar road bike and, as a commuter, perfect for it’s purpose.
suppose I’m expecting too much at the start.

Depends on the sportive. Out of interest why are you limiting yourself to either a Paddy Wagon or a Honky Tonk?

I want an all rounder I can use to commute on and go for some Road Riding when the mood takes me.
Was considering things like the Spc Allez, Giant Defy, Trek 1.2 etc but they either had problems with racks, tyre clearance, mudguards or being a bit pricey..

It’s 15 mile 1 way. It’s either a Paddy Wagon or a Honky Tonk and and I really can’t decide which.
I plan to do a a Sportive in the Summer as well. So I’m guessing a Honky Tonk would seem like the obvious answer but the thought of hassle free maintenance is VERY tempting.

Don’t suppose doing a Sportive on a Singlespeed is a goer?!

the reason i’m asking is that i’ve the same choice to make. Fancy doing a bit of Road Riding on which ever I chose and not to fussed on riding off-road on it.

Although Bike would be mainly used for my daily commute along gravel paths, country lanes and some cycle paths.

Bike also need suitable clearnace to run spiked tires in Winter.

Can’t decide which would be better suited…

some say there was a female Nazi Camp Guard who had a lampshade made of the skin of some inmates.

other says it was a made up.

    google it.

    you decide.

i agree with the posts above: pretty solid advice.
fwiw, I’m 5’7 and ride a 15.5 Rockhopper which is perfect for me. I had to buy a longer seatpost (400mm) to get the fit right for long pedalling stints.

I don’t think 15.5 would be a good choice for you.

Completely subjective and, I admit, from a layman but I just bought a Samsung Plasma and the picture quality is better than any LCD I’ve seen. Very impressed. Would buy Plasma again before LCD.
