I think the mismanagement by Margaret Thatcher and her government of the tax receipts from North Sea oil in the 70s and 80s, surely must be right up there.

The resultant social and economic impact of this provides much of the backdrop to the issues affecting the UK today.

I think it’s excellent, expensive and a bit culty, but resistance circuits are just great for really good functional fitness.

I’ve coached Olympic lifting for CF’ers – learning these lifts takes time and dedication and lots of reps with light weights, which is not as much fun as tearing around a box for time…

The best source of info on supplements I have found is within examine.com

When I was a competitive weightlifter, I took it regularly – it helped. It did increase my weight a little, via water retention, but a low carb diet a week or so before weigh in counteracted it. Water retention levels however vary from person to person, try it and see.

    Absolute and utter gits.

I’ve just made a new lawn; hard labour over 3 weekends. Coming along lovely it was. Last weekend, the badgers ripped it to bits.

As a parent of children in secondary school and someone who has 2 friends who are teachers (and one family member), the issue of talented teachers either leaving or being signed off sick, is really concerning.

I know a number of us here work in challenging jobs, which occasionally engage us over weekends and sometimes into the evening for no additional reward; and do so over our careers. Is there something however intrinsically wrong with the management and incentivisation of teachers which causes these issues? What can be done to make the lives of some of the most valuable contributors our society better?

The Bitcoin Network’s groaning a bit this evening…anything above 10,000 unconfirmed transactions tends to slow things down, even with higher network transaction fees:

I have one, a present from my wife when i was 40. I like it and its been on all my cars over the last 14 years. Transferring is a pain though, with cost and the faff of additional paper work.

Re dealers’ stickers – I always peel them off. I once bought a car from Fords of Winsford, whose logo is a laurel leaf design, and each of the bloody leaves were separate. Tens of ’em!

I suspect a good quality protein shake will do no harm or really add much more than a pint of milk would do. A good balanced diet is far more important.

I have some BTC – significantly risky investment and the volitility is staggering. I think it is a bubble and purchasers of Bitcoin rarely use it as a currency, just wild speculation. If you do buy any, be prepared to lose the lot…

However, cryptocurrency and the blockchain on which it sits, is here to stay. I suspect the technology will become more and more mainstream in the next 10 years or so.

With any small business, having been involved with them for more years than I care to recall, two things are of vital importance:

    1) A shareholder or partnership agreement – right at the outset. It’s a pain, but will save untold angst further down the line.
    2) Good accounting – it’s dead easy now (and cheap) with the likes of Kashflow or Xero

Find a good small business accountant to advise on the best treatment of personal and business tax.

Liver, onion gravy, bacon and stwnsh rwdan (mashed potatoes with other mashed veg, usually swede). Preferably calves, dusted in seasoned flour and not overcooked. Wonderful

An amazingly nutritious meat, and so cheap!

Here in Wales we have stwnsh rwdan… This is mashed potatoes and other vegetables (usually swede, but sometimes carrots too), milk, butter and, if you fancy, a pinch of nutmeg.

There is no finer accompaniment to liver, bacon and onions.

Just back from the US and used QC35s.

Outstanding and wouldn’t fly without them and the IFE with the cord connected really improved the movie viewing experience.

However, the 3.5mm male plug juts out of the set arm and I bust it off when standing. Bose’s cables are 3.5mm on end and 2.5mm the other – could I get a replacement in the US, could I heck 🙄

Unless it is science related it will be a waste of time and money.

    What rot.

I did my MBA through them many years ago. Excellent materials, tutors and system. I suspect the online element is much better than when I did it in the early 2000s. Their degrees are considered positively by employers who recognise the personal motivation required.
