Seems strange to me, anything with the potential to rattle is a no no in my book!

No rubber pad, but I have some sticky backed rubber I could use.

Just got a sonder transmitter on cycle2work scheme, it is the base model, but doesn’t feel like it. Only had a snowy ride on it so far, but it feels solid and confidence inspiring, gripped really well in the conpacted snow/icy stuff.

Plus bikes are pretty much all boost, so better to bite the bullet and get a complete build.

How much do you weigh weeksy?

Transmitter is great, but it is boost, so not going to work.

As it turned out they had been delivered in two days and tucked away out of sight at my work. The senders were great and responded straight away to my email, can’t fault them.

OOh, that is a good price! It comes with a 3.0 on the front and I’m sure the Fox 34 I bought will take a 3.0, but I’m really trying not to spend any money, apart from the new fork, bars, dropper……. It’s bad timing really as we are off to look at a pup tonight and off on holiday on the first, so upgrades to the new unridden bike need to wait.

    damned good price though!

Fingers crossed, I will check with Alpkit to be sure, just need the bike to arrive!

Thanks BWD, I had it on my head that the standard tyres would be your typical plasticky affairs rather than a tubeless ready version?! This bike will mostly be on sandy rooty trails, I would prefer to avoid shelling out for new tyres straight away, especially given the current price of plus.

Tough times pal, we lost our girl last November, but we are off to view some pups tomorrow.

I upgraded to the Luftkappe first and found it much kinder to my hands, ditching the tokens really helped, but the charger damper made it better still. As said above it is only when you are really pushing it you notice the difference, but that is when it really matters.

    Thanks Andy, that is reassuring.

True enough, conveniently everyone speaks English, I will give it a few days and see what happens.

Mine haven’t arrived yet, I was expecting green and have just been pricing up a few green parts to match, glad I haven’t bought anything yet!

There can’t have been any grease in there, they wouldn’t turn!

Thanks all, I will track down the tool from Specialized. As a temporary fix I opened the trapdoor and sprayed in some GT85 and it is back to normal, I don’t imagine that will last though.

That sucks, I got mine new but second hand, so no return possible for me.

I was looking at these two, with a bias towards the Scout, but now going for a Sonder Transmitter.

Most I ever did was eleven, generally dosed off half way up, so great for napping!

jonny, ever been over the bars in mud and put your hands out? Muddy gloves on ESI grips is like lube!

For me push on grips are much more comfy and they don’t creak on steep climbs.

I use ODI longneck flangeless, hairsparay on, not used anything better. My experience with esi grips is I loved them, until I used them in the rain at Antur and my hand kept slipping off!

I’m thinking of sizing up to XL, the geometry seems pretty close to my size L Bird zero tr, except for another inch of seat tube, but no issue with my long legs.

I’m looking at the 275+ which comes with 2.6 minions. Northwind, was it the 2018 version you tested? The new one is supposed to be more forgiving due to redesigned stays.

Nope, flat pedals, neutral to heel down, mid foot placement, around the same leg length or slightly longer.

Anyway, regardless of size it is a fantastic bike! Mine was sold to fund my full suss, but I am seriously considering buying another.

I wouldn’t say freakish, but I am long limbed with a short body, I’m sure my big feet play a part in it too.

Must be some really short legs on this thread, at five eleven on a large I had 170mm travel reverb with five inches of exposed seat post below, a medium would look even more silly.

Seems strange that I was recommended large when I enquired about hardtails and full suss from Bird.

Think I will leave it a while then, now to force myself out the door to Woburn.

I went with the large, no regrets, I find the medium too small.

As said above, 200m is required for diving. As regards computers, divers always double up on things that may save your life, I don’t dive any more, but always had a watch and tables to back up my computer.

Decent watch for the money, but I can’t understand why they make a divers watch you can’t wear diving?!

Initially it felt like this maxle didn’t fit, it just needed a little more force the first time it was used, but no issue with it now.

Self amalgamating tape for me, best of all the options.

Not quite the same, but my two year old has been at three different nurseries in a year or so, I was impressed how quickly he adapted. I’m sure he will settle given a little time.

Funnily enough I moved from Watford to Dunstable! I was at Woburn yesterday for about five minutes… until my too short new chain fecked my rear mech. email in profile if you want to meet up.
