Too true tj, but most of the dangers were probably sleeping off hangovers, whereas the traffic is out in full force during school run!

tj, they are eight and three, the distance is nearly two miles! Also school policy means you have to take them into the school and pretty much to their classroom, you can’t leave them at the gate, not even the eight year old.

I sigh with relief when I get home after Fridays school run, there are stupid and dangerous things happening every day. It must be nice to be able to walk it, but we don’t all have that luxury, for many people there is a very small window of time to drop your kids off and get to work on time at a very busy part of the day.

Thanks Tracey, looks like I will be as well buying the whole kit and will need to wear headphones until it arrives!

Very easy, lot’s of guides online. Pretty much undo top and bottom threads, remove old damper, fit new damper, tighten top and bottom. Over simplifying, but not much more to it.

My big feet can’t be very fussy, I really liked the Neutrons, but would have liked them to be bigger.

you have done a nice job! Looking forward to the summer update, even if not perfect in the height of summer I’m sure it will be a vast improvement.

So has this solved the usual conservatory issues? Mine is a useful space for about six months a year, but would love to use it year round.

Raceface Atlas for me, decent sized platform, good bearings, tough, light and low profile.

Happy with my MT5’s, but I think you need Magura rotors to get the best out of them as they are thicker. The bleed process was quite easy and has been rock solid since I did it.The long levers seem fine to me, you get used to them and don’t think about it. My previous brakes were zee which were great when used regularly, but would spaz out if left too long.

+550 -200, I’m open to which frames I get, more concerned they don’t slip down my face.

Well I opened up my ratbite tyre inserts and was pleasantly surprised to find a pack of Haribo, until my children walked in and confiscated them!

I had those pedals in 2003, they were heavy as ….

I upgraded to a charger damper, so I guess it’s both, I will have a look when I get home, it won’t be much money either way.

I have a hardly used Yari damper going spare if required.

Every one of the many many brakes I have bought have been pre bled, after shortening the hoses the usually do though.

Can anyone confirm that these will be ok for post mount with the right adapter?

You will want new sealant in the tyres if running tubeless, my rear brake is always squealy when left for a while.

At similar weight I was running no tokens, but with higher pressure, have you tried that? Tokens just made it harsh on the hands for me, run some compression if riding steep stuff.

Probably not martin, I will tell my mate to buy the tool!

bungletastic: No, i’m extending the travel.

Sounds good martin, circlip pliers should do the job.

Have to agree Akers, much prefer the action of my Brand X with Raceface Turbine lever, the reverb always seems sluggish in comparison.

I’ve taken a different route and bought a cheap CCDB air as an experiment, but I’m keeping the Monarch in case it doesn’t work out.

Pretty sure the cold is a big factor, I’m seriously considering making mine mechanical, even though I upgraded to the 1x lever.

Sounds good, mine is due a service anyway, so not that much to pay on top!

Sounds good, I am not in a big rush, so hopefully you will have done it first. It is only £120 over the service cost.

I have faith they will work, albeit under par, it’s just a PITA that every time I get the bike out the reverb lever needs a bleed and the rear brake is playing up. Loving my hardtail at the moment and it always just works. There doesn’t seem to be a brake on the planet which is universally liked!

I keep coming back to the new brakes answer, but that is a whole new can of worms!
