Any update on these? Anybody else using them?

I think the voodoo is great, especially singlespeed! My forks have taken a fair bit of stick, but still going. They definitely benefit from regulary stanchion lubing though.

Anyone used this set up with a lower chain guide?

Forget about lockons and get some esi chunky or extra chunky. You can ride all day with no gloves and wont get blisters, can’t recommend them enough! No real drama to fit or re-fit either.

I did the MBR last year after a ten year gap! Great fun and so much better on a modern bike!Back then I remember moaning about the saddle height being wrong all the time, punctures, twitchy steering… the trail is much better too.

I can only comment on the Bizango and I’m really impressed with mine. It is now running singlespeed with wide bars and short stem, love it!

rondo+1 compared with Shimano everything is a pain, HT2 all the way.

I remember the old Gethin uplifts, trailers falling apart, falling into ditches… then the march through a bog to the top of the run!
Uplifts these days are so much better.

I can’t comment on this new one, but the wicked pro 26″ is 170mm travel, but doesn’t feel anything like that much, until you need it.

Love my Bizango, which replaced an inbred 29er. Currently set up singlespeed with 50mm stem and 780mm bars. Has been great for up down along and in the air.

XC or DH? Very rooty in places, slippy in the wet, fast and loose in the dry. The heavy rain this year has made all the rooty steps a fair bit bigger!

Pretty sure you can run 200×57 on the long shuttle, but you need the short shuttle to run 190×50.

I love Revolution and Antur, but probably taking a relative newbie and BPW looks just the job, as does Enter the Dragon!

Have you been to Antur or Revolution? How does it compare? I’m keen for an uplift weekend, it’s been tooo long!

I have a Blood as my main bike and it is my favourite bike since my last favourite! Great fun and quite versatile with an adjustable fork, it loves to jump!

I’ve had nanos and liked them, currently run both saints and the plastic Nukeproofs, both good, but I prefer the Nukeproofs and they are 150g lighter!

    No takers?

Just been searching and on this air spring service guide it says to release the trapped air as you replace the air spring! I defo didn’t do this, could it be the cause?

I wont be buying new forks, my frame is 11/8 and I very much doubt they would out perform an Avalanche cart 36.

Surly tugnut is what you want, I happen to have a pretty much new one for sale if interested?!

I will have a go loosening the tension, failing that I will email GD. It is getting very annoying now, luckily the one on my other bike works perfectly.

It was locking down with the new shims previously, but in trying to cure the post slipping from full extension to one inch drop I have managed to mess something up. I’m thinking maybe too much cable tension?!

Thanks Ian, I will have a go with less cable tension. which way up does the cap on the spring go? I have tried both to no avail.

I will check for obstructions when I get home, but think roverpig may be on the right track.

Kimbers, I have repeatedly tried twisting the dial, but whatever I try it doesn’t work.

    Thanks for all the input.

It will go into the highest position, but when you put pressure on the saddle it drops a position.

Just to go on a bit more… the brakes are very impressive, plenty of power and good feel, the frame feels very tough and chuckable, even with the big wheels! The main thing though is the geometry, it feels right going up, down and along.

As you can probably tell from my post I’m very pleased, I’m also a self confessed bike swapper and put Hora to shame!

I got one a few weeks ago and I’m very impressed! I bought it with the intention of running it single speed, the built in dropout tensioner works really well and hasn’t moved yet. Since buying the bike I have changed quite a few things, but that is just my personal taste.

Like all my bikes it now has a 50mm stem, 780mm bars and a dropper and it is very confidence inspiring, great over jumps and drops and especially good riding over big logs! I’m very impressed by the fork, which has been really fit and forget, although the lockout is really handy for singlespeed climbs. Not sure how it will stand the test of time, but it has taken a fair beating already.

    In short, buy one!

Another vote for ESI here, even the racers edge are more comfortable then anything else, but chunky feel like free suspension!

Thanks all, I’m a regular at Aston etc, but I’m looking more along the lines of fun singlespeed training rides, although some fun jumpy stuff would be nice too!

I would bite the bullet and get a second hand DH bike before the season starts, there are bound to be bargains around. Your mates will most likely want to ride all the flat out main lines for the majority of the trip, which will be pretty hard going on your Zesty.

If you ride a couple of days then decide to hire a bike, it will cost a packet and you will be riding an unknown quantity, probably with suspension that doesn’t match your requirements and anything you break, you pay for. Get your own bike, sort the suspension for you, then sell it when you get home and you haven’t ragged your pride and joy either.
