Many moons ago I went out with a girl named Rhian (pronounced like Ian),after explaining the correct pronunciation until she was blue in the face people still called her Ree ann! So er, good luck with Morris and good luck with your baby boy.

Just got the sasquatch, seems a bargain to me and I should be toasty warm if there is a blizzard!

This is disappointing, I bought a Yari thinking I could put my charger damper straight in, now I have a dead pike to play with. Anyone had a CSU rebonded?

Just checked and yes they do an XL.

Pretty sure they do an XL, love the long low geometry of all their bikes and they just seem to be a great company. Superb warranty, everything comes tubeless, no naff parts.

Since I got my zero tr a month ago I seem to be either riding it or looking at it.

I’m surprised looks are an issue with the Aeris, but eye of the beholder and all that. Check out the new Aeris 120, looks fantastic in the flesh.

I have an x-fusion sweep RL2 at 130mm on my Bird Zero tr and have to say I’m really impressed. It feels plenty stiff and sits quite high in it’s travel, feels quite similar to my Pike.

Nice idea Dez, but what if it doesn’t toughen them up? You don’t know what your baby will be like as they grow. How will they look? Will they be naturally strong, confident, attractive? Maybe an amusing name will toughen them up and they will thrive or sadly it could be the final nail in their coffin.

I wasn’t a pushover at school, can’t say I was bullied, but if girls are laughing at you over something as simple as your name, especially at times like puberty it can knock your confidence and you can hardly give them a slap.

Kids aren’t nice, they can all be a bit nasty and I’m sure mine will be no different. My son is only five and someone called him ‘****’ at school last term, must be a word their parents use. We spoke to his teachers, but you can’t be going to the school every time someone calls them a name.

My eldest son is Luke, the only one in his class, 44th most popular boys name.

You used to work with a a man named Tracey, you didn’t go to school with a thirteen year old of that name. You can eventually grow into a name, but the process can be a painful one.

A Hora, I see you are up there again giving your point of view on something you haven’t experienced. Your name is Mark, how the hell would you know?

Not read all this, but I went to school in the eighties with the name Arthur and it made my life hell! Moving to a new school and having people laugh in your face when they heard your name was not the best start. Kids are cruel, why put a target around your child’s neck? I changed to my middle name the moment I left school and it was a weight off of my shoulders.

Funny how all the names come and go and people on this very thread are discussing the name Arthur. If you live in the south they will be known as arfur! Given their time again my parents would not have cursed me with that name, any abuse I got over it(lots) was passed on to them.

Maurice?! Just call the poor bugger Sue and be done with it!

Can’t comment on the AM, but just been on a spin on my new TR and can’t see how it could be better. Climbs really well, descends even better, light, nice paint job, well specced, arrived tubeless…

I haven’t actually gotten around to it yet, too many half finished projects at the moment, but will hopefully do it at the weekend, will post up afterwards.

Mine were sounding horrific on holiday, unfortunately no warranty for me. Bought a yari for not much more than a CSU and put my charger damper in.

P-jay, pretty much definite you can put that in a yari to get almost a lyric. My Pike CSU died on holiday so I am putting the charger damper in my new yari. Probably worth keeping the yari damper though as two of our group had the charger damper fail on them.

I’m running a size large frame with 150mm drop reverb stealth, 5’11” with long legs. Probably two and a half inches between seat collar and seal. No need to remove connectathingy. Not sure if it is the B1 version though?!

It is the same slide that I have, has nobody anchored the bottom?

    Bagstard

Well that is good to hear, my concerns were mostly about climbing up the slide and potentially lifting up as kids seem to do,

When you are used to flats most skate shoes will be fine, but coming from spd’s you may have a better experience with super grippy five tens.
They are expensive and ultimately overkill, but great when you first make the change.

Shimano AM41 are pretty good, not as grippy, nor as expensive and better in the wet.

The ride is excellent, but I haven’t ridden it enough to comment on reliability.

Fitting the hard plastic chainstay protector to my commencal meta v4, even with the video guide.

    wobbliscott +1,

new babies aren’t easy on anyone, but probably hardest on your wife. My latest edition has been on a couple of cottage holidays since being born in May and our usual pre Christmas family bash at Longleet CP. There is something great about parking the car on the Friday and not going near it until Monday. One restaurant at CP had a complete range of complimentry baby food and everything you cold possibly need. You just walk everywhere and it is buggy friendly with a full range of comedy body art to laugh at when you swim.

I rode the monkey last week for the first time and really enjoyed it, a really good balance of descending to climbing. Hardly any fire road and some nice technical sections. No reason it can’t be done on a hardtail, but probably more fun on full suss.

As long as you don’t get pedal strikes it will be fine, great around corners! I’m currently running my on one 45650b with 26 inch wheels, because I was building a cheap hardtail with bits from the shed and it’s great.

Have a look at the Candito 6 week strength program (not the linear one), far more inspiring than Stronglifts as each week is different and you only squat twice a week.

Not really looked into the warranty, but the purchase was a simple affair. The sizing worked out well for me, I have long legs and short body, so the large gives me decent reach and the tt is nice and low, so good standover. Pedals really well and the BOS shock only gives up travel when needed, but still plush on big stuff.

The press fit BB was a concern at first, but it was easy to install and no issues so far. It seems much easier to get in the air than my previous Mega AM275.

Diving in the UK can be amazing or grim, but it is generally much harder work than bobbing around in the Red sea. The weather and viz can make a big difference and a dive to 30m in Sharm is very different to the Clyde, so if you plan on UK diving it is better to learn the hard way and have real understanding of what diving here involves.

Diving on holiday go PADI, diving over here go BSAC.

Adhesive backed velcro, really sticky and helps dampen the sound of chain slap.

Looks nice, I used to have the earlier version and thought it was a great bike. The only reason I sold it was I didn’t think it could take a tapered fork, which of course it can, duh!

I’m off on my annual centre parcs family meet up on Friday, generally I just follow my nose, but last year I was shown around by a couple of locals. Fingers crossed I can retrace my steps this year.
