Actually the one I’ve just got is better…

After these two hours you will never want to hear Brenda Lee singing “Rocking around the Christmas Tree” ever again.

    Here’s mine……

Our pianist is definitely available but we may not have our usual conductor.

And no Binners isn’t from me I’m also wondering who on earth it is….. 😯

I’d just like to add at this point that I can indeed remember speaking to the lovely boy BUT I cannot remember this conversation or my part in it….

…..I’m going to go for a lie down now….!

How irritating OP for you to live with one…..

    ‘jus sayin’

My take on it is you make the best of what comes at you some of its rubbish yes but there’s too much moaning about everything these days

    (warning annoying quote coming up)

If life throws you lemons crack open the tequila (I know not technically right but who wants lemonade?)

Love Bagpuss AKA the person that lives with a pessimist and is greying early due to this…….

You won’t get any hassle off Binners unless via his phone they’ve made some adjustments to comps at work and he can’t get on anything hence there being no arguments on here at all this morning 😉

I was chucked in at the deep end too. I organised 1:1 meetings with all 14 of them in my first 2 weeks there. And, like another poster explained to them why I’d been brought in, what my background and experience was and how they could help me, also asked how I could help them and what had been missing from them not having any line management.

Had a great (well not always) relationship with them after that. most of the first meetings were bitch-fests about other staff so sorted all those issues out first and got a happy team. Consulted staff are happier good communication up and down is a must.

Good luck and congratulations on your promotion

TPT Its my dwindling options in this sector that are frustrating me I left the private sector as I ‘wanted to make a difference’ and was sick of making fat cats money but now I guess for purely selfish reasons I want my hard work to show some benefit to me but don’t want to become too ‘driven’ or target based as enough stress from other areas in life without getting back into all that again…..

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm marine biologist architectural technician – ice cream van division…. sounds good…..

18 months later is a bit weird? It is a soft wood I guess that reacts to atmosphere and should be kept away from radiators etc perhaps it also soaks up damp from floors? What surface is it on / room is it in? Mold?

I can confirm that there was indeed a whole world of faffing by Binners on his move over to Ramsbottom. Sorry to have missed it I was looking forward to meeting everyone I haven’t as of yet!

They’ll scratch anything! My Maine Coon even scratched a really rough leather suite from running across it with his claws out my wicker CD rack is wrecked down one side and she also has a go at the wood floors where its uneven (proper old floor rather than laminate)

You could try the water-pistol trick worked for my friend quick squirt if he went to scratch the sofa thing was he just waited till she was out of the room……

Ooooooooooh at last a thread I like.

Cats are ace, they’re independent and not as ‘needy’ as dogs plus you don’t have to walk them.

I’ve always had rescue cats apart from one big bu**er called Mr Darcy who is a Maine Coon who is as big as this one…..

You can go away over night if they’ve enough food and water etc and they don’t chew shoes

Ours has the tendency to favour her dad *Binners* and likes to sit on his Guardian and is generally the only person who can get a smile out of him when he’s got a grump on…..
