He won’t pay you, he can’t sue you.
I’d ignore him from now on.

To be against multi-culturalism does not make one Islamophobic.
I have plenty of Muslim friends, my closest friend is Muslim. But I disagree with mixing cultures on such a huge scale as has happened in parts of the UK since New Labour. I think multi-culturalism on the scale practiced in the last 15 years to be a huge mistake, which could lead to a civil war in the next twenty years. I have more in common with Muslims than the majority of my non-Muslim peers and I expect the STW Massive – mainly the fact that we both believe in God.
Human beings are searching for conflict (as any quick browse of the STW forum illustrates) so it is good statesmanship to reduce the potential for conflict – and conflict based on tribal/religious identity is usually the most explosive.
Why, for example, did the West continue its policy of multi-culturalism after 9/11? It makes no sense.

    There are no winners here.

I’d argue the sponsors that boycotted Oldham have won a perceived moral victory, especially in terms of presenting themselves as whiter than white.

I would never have guessed anyway do you accept that reducing it now wont help or not ? Just trying to see whether facts have any impact on your view.

Of course it would be beneficial. You have no manners btw (and I expect, no friends either).

Apart from the fact the Islamic terrorist here are British borne that is an excellent suggestion,

I’ve been opposed to mass immigration for years anyhow – so if I had my way, there wouldn’t be a significant Muslim community in the UK in the first place.

A simple way of reducing the threat would be to control mass immigration of muslims into the country.

I expect the bookies are slashing the odds on Marine Le Pen as the next French President.

No he’s not morally right. But his tweet is accurate – if you insult the Prophet there is a chance you will be attacked.
There was precedent for this so it surprises me the French magazine published the cartoons in the first place.

Of course he can say that. I, along with almost any other sane person, think he’s wrong, but he can say it.

But is he wrong? It strikes me he is right – if you insult the Prophet, there is a chance someone will come and kill you.

You could say that his tweet is good advice.

Looking at some footage on the box, and the whole thing looks absolutely terrifying.

If your wife’s best friend has just got divorced, then there’s a good chance you will be next. Women divorce in packs!

There is counter evidence that suggests depression lessens with age, as the brain softens and negative memories start to disappear.

Many minor celebrities can say they’ve met BadNewz down the years.
Ray Rearden told me off for dropping litter (by mistake).
James Ellroy has met me two times.
Rosamund Pike has chatted to me over drinks at Oxford.
Gazza has met me in Barclays bank.
Simon Armitage – really nice bloke – has discussed poetry with me, as has Tony Harrison, who rates himself rather highly.
Richard Dawkins has been rude to me.

Fox DH shorts – last around 5 years for me.
Specialized MTB shoes – 7 years old still going strong.
Specialized MTB mitts – 4 years a pair.
It depends a lot on riding style, I’m smooth and slow, just like Barry White, so my stuff lasts long.

Ride twice as much as 2014, just my local loops in Hertfordshire.
Ride Chicksands and Woburn 6 times.
    Go on more group rides.
Rediscovery the love and buzz of Mtbing, which might require a new bike.
Week abroad on the bike, currently looking at Ride Ibiza.

Not a MTB, but got a brand spanking new Raleigh Pioneer town bike after my old one was nicked.

Ive pretty much done my dry January in December – I don’t like all the part-time drinkers that time of year. Saying that I do feel better so will try to limit the drinking binges to once a fortnight in 2015 – as opposed to twice a week.

Feel ok today but the overcast weather puts me off going out.

Never once had a good night out on NYE, but enjoy it every year these days with a couple of beers, crap TV, and that superior feeling to everyone else the next morning.

I was there this september and they suffered an “English Summer” – it rained a lot, and was low 20s.
But I was there two years before again in september and it was 30 degrees and blue skies the whole time.
It is getting busier each year. Split is cool for a day trip, Trogir is ok, Zadar is cool and IMO underrated; I would have a look at there first as there is also an airport with cheapish ryanair flights from stansted, plus access to Kornati national park which is great.
If you decide on an island, then do some research – Supertar in Brac is more a family resort, whilst Hvar attracts the jetset.

Ive always ridden FS, when I try a friends HT I think, bloody hell I don’t like that much.
I think its the natural evolution, HT to FS then FS 29er.

Have we really got so hyperbolic and lacking in thought that a day of drizzle needs a warning?

The media has targets it needs to hit in terms of web views, tv ratings, etc so Sensationalism rules.

Less boozing. Move somewhere new near to a MTB centre, maybe Chicksands. Cut-out social smoking.

In a similar position to Bustaspoke above. My stumpjumper is c.2006 and the repairs/maintenance is starting to add up.
Chain Reaction has a great deal on a Kona full suss but in two minds as not sure I need that much bike for my local trails.
    Decisions…

Why did he feel the need to pretend it was a new one (wrapping it in the new box).
Fine, give someone a second hand one.
But don’t a) buy a new one and keep it for yourself b) try to pass your hand-me-downs on as if they are new.
Amazed people think this is ok behaviour!

I’d be tempted to just keep most of it in cash in the bank. Deflation is going to be around for the next five years at least.

I’d maybe put 10 percent in a high risk/reward investment like AIM shares.

    10 percent in gold.

But stick to the golden rule, don’t put all of it into anything that could be seen as risky (that includes normal share funds I’d argue; one of the best of which as mentioned above is Terry Smith’s Fundsmith).

Cycled down to Boots on my new Raleigh Pioneer town bike, tres comfortable.

Hit the 3 for 2 as always. Bang! xmas shopping down in 15 minutes.

Put my debit card in the card reader, the checkout girl hadn’t noticed and said “I didn’t realise you’d stuck it in”. Bit tongue.

Cycled to a small village, saw four wild deer in the middle of a field, took a picture.

Planned some new poems for 2015, combining Henri Bergson’s anti-Platonism with Du Bartas compressed metaphysical style.

Staying away from the silliness tonight and listening to FiveLive instead.

Im not sure if Ade could have improved the tribute. He clearly had a close working relationship with Rik Mayall, probably beyond words.
Ive had to watch the Bottom Falklands episode twice today just to remember how funny they were.

The hangover is nature’s way of telling you time is passing, your body is getting older, and you should stop drinking so much. Which is so depressing it’s time for another drink.
