Blimin heck that is one long injury list.
Go to the meeting, explain the situation, don’t stress it, and carry a rabbits foot for future reference.
More seriously, sounds like you’ve had a very hard time so sending healing vibes your way.

If I work from home I usually spend around 3 to 5 hr sitting so it’s time to change that habit.

I do this most days. For half of the week I don’t even leave the house.

Was discussing this at the gym, where I do interval training twice a week, and the instructor said you need at least 30 mins activity every day otherwise you won’t see any results.

Courgettes coming through nicely. I’m quietly optimistic about the peppers but think the tomatoes are going to struggle this year.

The fashion isn’t just having a beard, as in the style of Uncle Albert.
As I understand it the beard renaissance is part of the overall hipster trend. These aren’t your normal “just let it grow” beards, these things are treated better than your average celebrity’s handbag puppy.
I’m not into the Hipster style myself, mainly because it wouldn’t suit me and I’m lazy. In terms of the amount of income they spend on their cobbler and down the barbers, it’s almost up there with Mod levels (i.e. 50-75% of your disposable income should go on your style).

If fashion is so good, why do they keep changing it?

Because it comes under the remit of what E.P. Thompson used to call that “old bitch” consumer capitalism.

Doesn’t do anything for me, then again Ibuprofen tablets don’t do much for me either.
Someone on here mentioned a while ago about how he helps his pain by going to sleep with a tubigrip filled with the gel round his knees once in a while. Might give it a try!

Two spectators were killed in 2007, I think the last marshal to die was in 2006, grim statistics but the point I’m making is as a rider you can’t use the argument that it’s only your own life you are putting at risk.

He’s running as fast as he can in the conditions to go to someone else’s aid in a true emergency situation. Fair play to him for thinking of the rider before himself.

On the issue of marshals, I’ve always found the argument made by road racers along the lines of “It’s our lives, we should be allowed to do what we want, so go mow your lawn,” somewhat invalidated when marshals get injured or killed, as has happened in recent years on the Island.

Also Spurs. Like some above, largely disenchanted/bored/not bothered with football these days, but I’d like to see Spurs play a youth side in the dreaded Europe cup. They might make fourth if the new defenders settle in quickly, I don’t think goals will be a problem. I’d take a gamble on moving Chadli to a more forward role to assist Kane.

I can’t be bothered with messing around with what I eat or drink.
I prefer interval training twice a week to lose weight.
5’11 and 82k, which I feel is where I should be for my body shape.

Horrific crash but the marshal taking a face plant kinda takes the edge off it.

I couldn’t help but think of the Benny Hill music when watching the marshals.

Friend does this from Hastings but there is a big but 🙂 which is he gets to work from home twice a week. He said he couldn’t do it five days in a row.

I’m agreeing with your overall point, I would definitely encourage someone to go in the building trade rather than bike shops. There are exaggerations of the brickies on 60k per year down here but they all make a tidy sum.

You look at jobs for the unqualified and you see retail assistant 6.50P/H and you see – Builders labourer 6.50P/H

In the South East builders labourers can earn significantly more than that.

Isn’t most of Majorca private land? I looked into mtbing there a few years back but decided against it incase I ended up being chased across the island by Michael Douglas with a shortgun ala Falling Down.

Overwhelmingly, the people I knew at university went because they thought it would be more fun than going out to work. Most 18 year olds haven’t a clue what they want to do.
I didn’t know too many medical students, I expect they tended to go into it for the right reasons, i.e. having a vocation from an early age.

Re The Big Society, DC ditched that idea when Steve Hilton left, I think DC was somewhat hypnotised by the lady dressed as a pina-colada and kept the taps turned on.
I actually thought The Big Society pointed to an important need – for a culture of volunteering and public service, although it was wrongly sold as a replacement for ye olde welfare state.

The question is not, is this fair for the student.
It’s: is the collective debt going to get paid back.

    The 50s had Elvis
    The 60s had The Beatles.
    The 70s had the Stones.
    The 80s had Michael Jackson.
Now we have Ed Sherran and Mumford and Sons.

I grew up and live in suburbia in the South East of England.
The roads where I live are probably three times as busy now as when I was scooting around on my bike in the 1980s/90s.
There are also a lot more parked cars, which make it more dangerous for cycling.
I don’t see any kids cycling around here now, unless they are with adults.
    Very sad.

I started cycling with it was a way of getting around for students and elderly eccentrics.
I’m still a “cyclist” but need to distance myself from all the lawyers, estate agents and BBC presenters like Jeremy Vine who have since adopted it as a mode of transport.
Things aint how they used to be!

But there are two women, wife and daughter. He’ll be disagreeing with one of them, whatever he does.

This is true. A rock and a hard place. I suggest withdrawing from enemy lines back to a manshed.

    There are two issues here.
One is about cycling on an A road.
The other is about disagreeing with a woman.
I suggest the latter takes precedence in one’s quest for a happy life.

If it is reactive depression from hating the job, then chuck the job.
If it is something more general, then stick with the GPs advice for now.

There were hundreds of mountain bikes to hire on the island of Brac when I was there last year, but I never saw anyone actually hire one.
