If affairs were out in the open, they wouldn’t be so exciting.

I know a few serial ratbags. One of them is a morally good person overall, it’s just a weakness he has, the other two are horrid people.
A lot of people have affairs just to liven up their boring lives.

He’s probably going to take that rejection to heart, enter a life of crime, get into goat porn and eventully wind up working for Sports Direct.

    And/or posting on here.

It can go either way. I know some self employed people who earn relatively little and work every hour under the sun, whereas others (not IME the majority) who do very nicely with low hours and holidays abroad.
Obviously your choice of self-employment is pretty crucial, but I’ve also concluded that some people are just better at making money than others, they have the knack.

When I was last out of work, I transferred from jobseekers allowance to national enterprise allowance (setting up your own company).

Although I didn’t make much money, the important thing was it kept me fairly busy, alleviating any depression, and got me out more in the business community, which eventually led to more regular employment.

    Good luck with it all.

Good luck with it all, you come across as having the positive personality to make it all work, post pics as and when you have them.

I don’t remember that particular quote, but yes we did – not an injured boxer, but an amazing fight.

He said it in a press conference after the fight. Actually he may have been referring to the press rather than the public, but at the end of the day, it is the primal thirst for blood that attracts us to boxing and increasingly cagefighting.

After Nigel Benn had almost killed Gerald McClellen, he said to the audience, at the end of the day, you got what you wanted.
Boxers know the risks. You are fighting to knock the other person unconscious, why is it a surprise that occasionally fighters get serious brain damage or killed?

Teachers should act in a more grown up fashion, by all means rebel, but jeering and acting up is something teachers of old would have thought beneath them.

    It’s pure egoism.
I hate the things with a passion.
Infact, that goes for cars in general now, the South East of England has become a massive car park which happens to have houses on it.

The only job I’ve ever enjoyed was freelance and part-time.
I don’t enjoy working full-time basically, irrespective of the job.
My bones tell me life is too short to spend most of it working.

5.30 most mornings by my neighbours screaming kid. Re-arranging my bedroom today to get my bed as far away from the wall as possible.

Interest rate only mortgages were discouraged for a relatively short while after the 2008 crash…but governments and central banks have quickly changed their tune since deciding a re-inflated housing bubble is the only answer to our woes.
Normally interest rate only mortgages preside the bursting of a housing bubble but governments will do everything and anything to stop that happening now, including negative interest rates. In such an environment, I’d probably take on the extension.

Of the people that go into high level politics, the percentage of sociopathic personalities is far higher than the population at large.
    It goes beyond not caring.

None. For the same reason as the OP. My drinking has always been limited to session beer, which I mainly drink in pubs, and I’m weary of home drinking in general.

Does anyone know what the justification is for cutting disabled benefit?

I don’t think they can be bothered to even try to spin this one.

The Indie has a list of all the Tory MPs who support the disability cuts (some of whom are patrons of disability charities).
It would have been easier to list the ones who didn’t.

Hvar is worth a visit, Brac is closer to the mainland but unless you are going to Bol (the famous beach), there isn’t much to see.
I prefer Split to Dubrovnik, they are both great cities but Dubrovnik can be too much of a tourist honeypot when the cruise liners dock.

Good points chewkw. That was certainly the strategy under New Labour as revealed by one of Blair’s aides.
I have a feeling we are having something of a reverse Berlin Wall moment, though. There is such despair about the levels of immigration that any serious politician will now put reducing it at the centre of their manifesto, and increasingly have to mean it, unlike the current government.

Trump is popular because he rejects mass immigration and “neoliberal” economics which impoverish the West. It isn’t rocket science. If a leader on the left were to do the same thing, they would also see their popularity rocket.

The fundamental issue is under-supply of housing.

I agree, but the really fundamental issue is population density, thanks to years of mass immigration.

What happens when interest rates go up to 2, 5 or say 8%

That isn’t going to happen. We are going Japanese, I’m afraid, except our housing bubble hasn’t popped as yet.

It’s going to be QE to infinity and beyond.

I was on beta blockers for a while, and they do affect your ability to exercise as others have said.
Got caught out once on a bike ride, had to get picked up as I had no energy to get home.
I also occasionally had a reaction in my lip, which would blow up.
The main thing I noticed is I never got a faster heart beat when smoking.

Yep doesn’t sound good, I ride that road quite a bit and it has a few blind corners. The driver did stop in this instance.
