There are bearings inside the motor casing which if opened voids any warranty.

If the bearings wear out during the time a motors under warranty it’s a new motor job, if out side of warranty there are people who replace the bearings or brands may offer cheaper assisted purchase motors.

Good to hear others are into it! I find it magical, it intensifies all the experiences.

Cool, that’d be ace. I have trail forks and have been looking at strava. looks like there quite a bit just figuring out the best way to link it all together. Any top tips for trails that must be ridden?

Thanks folks, I like it natural and steep. Is it all fairly obvious to find? Anything not to be missed?

I think it will have similar dampening qualities, they just haven’t done the sciencey (sic) testing of that aspect with the machines that cushcore have.

    Hi there,

I had a 2017 patrol which was ace and currently have a 2018 Scout. the bike is a weapon the geometry really does makes a super capable machine that still rides well on easier less steep trails, I’m 6ft and the large is spot on size wise the newer SBG models are much roomier than pre 2018. My scout is up for sale due to injury and 29er curiosity. If your after 2019 some models are available, speak to your local dealer  With more due October

I’ve gone from a 2017 Patrol to the 2018 Scout and I love it. It’s proper capable. Longer wheel base and reach than last years patrol and I definitely prefer it. I really think the shorter offset fork makes a difference to the handling, it rails corners like no other bike I’ve ridden. Fun, playful and plenty of travel. Also the 2018 Scout comes with a proper shock with a piggy back compared to previous incarnations. I live in the lakes, and haven’t taken it into the mountains proper yet but have no qual about its ability. I’ve been riding steep techy woodsy enduroy type stuff on it and its ace. Oh and the Habenero Orange is even better in the flesh!

I’ve really liked mine. it was the 2017 model and I have just put fresh bearings in after 12 months of ownership maybe only 6 months of riding though due to injury. Shameless plug alert Mines for sale (Sentinel on the way)

Its a custom build, not the NX build and you could test ride it in the lakes!

Velobikes in Ulverston have a Large NX complete in stock in the TR Blue, and it looks good, Can’t wait for my Frameset and GX build kit to arrive (1st week in December I’m told.

That’s the model with 34’s so I think the spec must be wrong but I’d check before you press go! It was the rear triangle that had issues on the older 650b models although not heard of any 2016 breakages yet. They ride incredibly well though and I’d have one for sure (or a dune) If I didn’t like Transition’s so much.

Foxy’s are one of the nicest feeling 140mm bikes out there ride a bit different to others because of the forward geometry but great bikes. They do have a reputation for cracking but the never known of issues with silverfish or Mondraker honoring warranty claims. The only thing that would put me off is the fox 32’s. I’d want at least a 34mm stanchion which the 2016 base model were kitted with. If it helps I know of a large ex-demo for sale for £1500.

Just pull them out, sometimes they need pliers but if new should pull out with fingers alone. Make sure when you put the new adapters in you put the right colour on the right sides (Same as the current ends)

I highly recommend the Madison Addict Storm Jacket as a full on water proof although you might struggle to get one until the next batch arrives. You can properly “batten down the hatches” in bad weather as the hood has a helmet peak pocket.

My 34 talas is at mojo now getting the fit4 upgrade and the new retro fit air spring (similar to that of the new 34 and 36) I’m anticipating a complety new fork. I’ll let you know how it is when I get it back!

What is a good price I have a spare shock which I’m looking to move on (CTD factory float 200×50) I think it even has the correct mounting hardwear for the kili. I’M looking for about 150 ish for it its had 4 months riding.

Th 216×63 will be too long and it will mess with geometry (steepen head angle raise bb) the 200×57 will probably be ok.

I’ve got a Fox Float factory kashima CTD 200×50 which came as stamdard on the 12x frameset I’ve got. I’m going to put the new Evol sleeve on though for a bit more small bump sensitivity.

I think the Kili is a really capable bike for UK riding. I’m based in the lakes and use it for everything; hike a bikes, steep loamy rooty tracks, rocky bridleways, enduros and the odd DH track too.

I Run a 150 fox 34 on mine and its ace! I know a few folks who ran 140 secktors and again it worked well!

The 2016 Carbon one looks nice for sure. I’ve got a the ally 2015 frame built up with 150 fox 34’s and it’s an ace trail bike, a great set up for UK riding. I have had no issues with the norglide bushings either, and I know when it comes to replacing them it’s super simple.

Pop in to the The Shop they’ll be more than happy to point you in the direction of a good ride! Also MBR did a Grizedale unplugged loop a year or two ago which takes in some of best bridleways in the forest

How about ‘the peoples front of enduro’. More seriously though I think ‘UK Enduro Series’ hits the nail on the head. You could always swap UK for leading sponsors name if you wanted to get corporate.

The 2016 Kili-flyer is 130mm great spec for the money too.

yeah I reckon I could get a rolling chassis up and running for £700 if I’m patient, Just whether I can get (most) of that back on the Bfe or not!

I rode the Large and I’m 6′ felt spot on! Pikes and SLX would be perfect. I’m wondering If I can afford to buy a Frameset, some S/H 34’s, and a pair of 650b rims (to build some wheels on my hope hubs) thne sell the Bfe!

Rode a demo today (the RR full bike version) and I liked it! I currently ride a Bfe with 150 float 34’s up. I think The Vantage is faster or at least felt more stable going faster I guess the length and bigger wheels helped! In fact I was faster on the vantage on a trail I ride regularly than I was on an SB6 and a carbon foxy (which I also took for a spin today)! If bought one I’d want beefier forks and shimano brakes!

Cheers for your comments folks! I have now removed a big chunk of pushing which I agree no one really wants to watch.

I agree kayak23; punctuating events with music is good attention to detail and is something I’ll work on for my next attempt!

As for ‘who’s Craig Evans?’ He is the lairy rider in the 26 ain’t dead video!

    Cheers folks!

Initially I compiled and edited the riding footage, then I added music and due to the building nature of the the track felt the need to ‘pad’ the beginning with ‘a little bit of pushing’. equally it could have bveen wheel truing, stoking the sauna or a funeral! (see relevent Chromag and Cotic videos for reference)

Not a bad line up really thinking the fresh cut stuff will be pretty slippy but that’ll add to the fun. Loved the Home baked stage last year so that’ll be good again. Just sunday morning practice for me too.

I’ve had my Bfe alomost a year and it is with out doubt the most fun to ride bike I’ve owned so far! It’s evolved since the picture with a set of 34’s and few other bling bits but you get the picture…

Parkamoor and the Satterthwaite routes should be fine, a bit of snow/ice on forest roads and shaded bits of trail but its not too bad there at the mo (rode there sat and sun). Blawith common is pretty good at the moment too can be a bit to delicate in winter normally but when the ground is as hard as it is now is fine, had a a great ride there yesterday.

Just swap the big ring for a bash guard and wind the end stop screws in and it can be 2×9/10! Easy!
