One of the best dog friendly pubs around here is not in the city center but “The Swan with Two Nicks” in Dunham.

Sign on the bars says something like “Dog Welcome, children must be kept under control” :D

Hi sharkattack that would be ideal for a first timer but do her and yourself a favor and get a decent-ish video tripod to go with it

E.G this is a nice beginners one

Why don’t you get her a cheap Canon 550D with a couple of half decent lenses.

Full Video camera wise it’s big money for anything that will give you the “look” (shallow depth of field). DV camera have too small a sensor so pretty much everything is in focus , giving you that “video look”.

For control of the footage learn this
    https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/davinciresolve
    It’s great! and free! :-)

Very powerful software.Basically you shoot flat for as much latitude as you can get in camera, then bring it all back with the software

I personally shot all sorts of video and still camera over the years (GH4 currently) they all have their good and bad points.
Just remember things get very expensive if you decide to change formats / manufactures after investing in glass etc.. Says the former Canon user of over 25 years.

Asked her out again “no”, got a lot going on with her family etc….

    BUT
I’m going to the Isle of Mann TT next year, (2 weeks in a shared house) and who is coming along with my Cus
If you can talk with someone for 6 hours there as got to be something there!……I hope :-)

Our 19 year old apprentice had a black box fitted it’s shocking (in a very good way!) how fast his premium is coming down especially after 12 months.

Hose pipe with a variable spray/jet nozzle to get the bulk of the mud off. Spray with MuckOff or similar. Run over everything with a brush. Hose pipe to wash off.

Works for me as well :-)

Potassium Permanganate and Formaldehyde mix together with breathing apparatus and leave the house for 24 hours everything within it will be dead. You never know your luck the cat maybe in there as well :-)

Note “may” take some airing out before you go back in I’d give it a week or 2 :D

Would not trust them as far as I could throw them, when my parent were selling they did everything in their power to put buyers off in order to try and grab the property themselves at a bargain price.

Including telling potential buyers my parent were away when they were not to stop any viewings, total scum.

Mine was a Honda Accord hatchback 1.6 in silver. Cost £326.00 had to wait another 2 months before I could afford the £800.00 insurance though  After driving land rovers and tractors at work it felt like a rocket ship :D

I’ve started a new job a few months ago I’m out of the office most days and the office is full of lovely ladies.

And I do flirt with a couple of them but there has been once or twice where you think eeeek and expected a “meeting” with the boss when I got back to the office because flirty email suddenly went all quiet.

Both occasions I finally got a cheeky reply back(they had just been very busy to respond) but I must admit I was shitting myself.

Got to be sooo careful these days.

At my old place the girls on the shop floor gave as good as they got to be fair to the point of show arses, tattoos in areas not usually show on factory floor!!

    My type of girls :D

Well firstly I’m not giving up bacon.
I gave up cigs, drink alot less than I have ever used too, eat a lot less bread as well.

I’m just not giving up anything else. Lets face it in 10 years time they will find out it was all bad for us and we should just eat grass and the odd furry animal.

I think the occasional can of Redbull does me far more damage than my bacon and egg sandwich on a Sunday morning.

I span a tractor 180 degrees once I bet it all happened alot slower than that crash though :D

Heading down hill to a very busy main road on a snowy lane realized I was not going to stop stuck the front end in the hedge in the side of the roads and ended up facing the front of the tractor back up the hill. Would have been carnage if I’d ended up on the main road.

I think she needs to buy a decent bike bag and learn to remove wheels.

Wherever it’s left with whatever locks if they want it they will take it again :?
Either don’t bother getting another, or bag it and move it into her apartment, then just slide the bike under the bed or something?

No worries mate for the spec I don’t think you can go wrong and with shops every where she can have a try to get her sizing right :-)

When we went to pick up my Cus bike it was an upstairs works shop where they were doing the final adjustments and as I got to the top of the stairs I paused and the staff member said “are you going to ride it down?” to which I replied “if it was mine I would have” lol

    Hi OP
If your going “on your own” knee pads a a big one IMO. You come off in the sticks and break an arm, dislocate a shoulder you can walk and get help, knee injury and your staying wherever you are until, someone “may” find you.
    So IMO you need

    Helmet
    Full finger gloves
Half decent shoes (I’ve always used cheap Karrimor water proof trainers ,not any fancy biking stuff they tend to last about 4-5 months by which time you need another pair anyway as they will be minging lol
    knee pads

Other than that, usual crap I carry is
    2 x tubes
    1 x pump
    1 x multi tool
4 x tire levers (they can break)
1 x Proper none bike multi tool (Leatherman in my case)
1 x puncture kit (to back up the two tubes).

    water.
    food.

On big rides back in the car I’ll have a FULL change of clothes, towel and can of deodorant :-)
Nothing worse than doing a 2-3 hour drive home in wet gear.

When my boss/friend died he was an avid Manchester City fan everyone was asked to wear blue or city shirt.

Everyone wore blue! Even the most avid Manchester United fans turned up wearing City Shirts no exceptions due to the respect every open had of him.

Had my (at the time) German Shepard take a disliking to me removing his food bowl from his kennel once.
Que him swinging on my wrist and me dragging him toward the kennel door then smashing the kennel door against him until he FINALLY let go! This was not done in a calm or collective manor as I was also screaming at my mate to come and **** shoot it! But he was on the phone to his Mrs and never heard me!

Que a trip to A&E with my wrist and hand looking like they had been through a blender. I don’t know what pounds per square inch a German Shepard dog bite is but it punchered the face of my watch at the time.

Got sat down in A&E while they decided what skin went where on my hand and wrist when I quote
Me “I’m going to pass out”
    Doctor “don’t be silly”

I woke up a short time later looking at a white ceiling, in a very white cubical thinking I was actual dead

Had my knee go on me 2/3 the way through doing the Borrow Dale bash I was in complete agony, the knee cap just locked up and it felt like I had a knife run through my knee cap.

Ended up managed to move it enough to ride to the bottom of the trail then spent another 20 mins resting it.
3 doctors visits and nearly 12 months of physio has got it working something like but still get the odd twinge :?

Fast lenses and a camera (ideally two) that can handle low light would be a good start.

You should be moving around a bit anyway to get different shots so the light will be changing as you do.

Shooting weddings is all about the time, or lack of it! Are they getting married at 12 o’clock and sit down meal at 2 and want 20 groups shots taken? How far is church from the reception venue? etc etc etc……………………etc..

I’ve turned down so many weddings when the times just do not add up.

I would say a camera that can produce very little noise at 3200 ISO and a selection of lenses with a minimum of f2.8 would be a starting point.

Flash just kills the atmosphere and you will not have time to prat around with light modifiers.

Go and have a look at the venue at roughly the time of day the wedding will take place and see what light levels are like.

If you do have to use flash then you want to keep the shutter low to say 1/60 sec to allow the natural /venue lighting add to the atmosphere then add in the flash to just slightly under expose the scene, just to make sure you don’t blow out any white dresses!

Golden rule Shutter speed controls the natural /venue lighting, aperture controls the flash :-)

Get their early have a shot list written down / memorized, if you are using flash take some test shots just to make sure you dialing in before people arrive inside the venue.

    Good Luck!

    Film
    TV
