Mine was come off nights went to bed and Bang! IRA bomb going off in Manchester! Must have been bloody loud to wake me up :D We were living 6 miles from the city center at the time.
badllamaFree MemberI got out of the ironing by having her work trousers stick to the iron after doing my work shirts, must be made out of bloody plastic or something.
Result:- I’m not allowed near any pink clothing with an iron now :DNot that it’s right or anything just passing on a hint to fellow blue sufferers
badllamaFree MemberJust hung and fitted a new garage side door my job to fit the door install locks etc… and now after the event, to fit a new bottom hardwood door sill
Miss llama’s job to paint it, I did my part she did not do hers now it’s my fault the door has now swollen and needs more timber shaving off due to her lack of painting 8O
It is also my fault I’ve not fitted the sill yet even though she was supposed to buy it last weekend (I’d already given her the sizes) and so not even been bought yet
Cannot live without them, cannot kill them LOL
badllamaFree MemberBeen there really nice expensive though,
Seen this? http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Specialized-SRAM-Enduro-Series-2-Riva-del-Garda-video-2013.html :-)badllamaFree MemberI ride both, I like both but i don’t shave or (sometimes) shower before riding :D
badllamaFree MemberCheers guys I was getting worried I was running at 140 – 145 PSI on my 2012 Camber gone to an Enduro and now dumping in 220 PSI thought I was getting something wrong looking at SOAP and cazum replies looks like it’s normal :-)
badllamaFree MemberMy brother and gf spent 12 months over there loved it being into his biking helped :D His daily commute was up and down Whistler Bike Park lift in the morning ride down in the afternnon, used to watch the bears from his office window :D
He loved it BUT where he was, cost of living was crazy! Tourist town and all of that. He and his gf were on 12 month work visas so had to come back regardless once it was up. They really enjoyed it over there though.
note of reference _tom_ they found finding work very difficult and nearlly jacked it but his gf found a job just to keep them going my brother really struggled though.
badllamaFree MemberI suppoose I’m over biked or I’m not depending on where I am but I do know I find on the bigger stuff I ride faster and with more confidence.
Bike history:-Hardtail 16 months
120 FS 6 months
Now 140/160(switchable forks 160 on rear) FS a few weeks :-)Rode yesterday an area where I’ve ridden many times on the 120 FS and the difference on 160 when you hit the hard stuff is inspiring feels better not kicked around as much keep going where i want to go the up hills on the other hand are getting me………… fitter :D
I’m out on rougher stuff next week and now looking forward to it even more my mate is on still on his 120 FS still and enjoying it (and battering me on the climbs TBH) but he is noticing on the technical downhill stuff the 160 FS is leaving him in it’s wake. 8)
badllamaFree MemberHi I’m running
Front Tyre: Specialized Clutch Control
Rear Tyre:Purgatory Control
On my Spesh Enduro 2011 finding they have plenty of bite off road and not bad rolling on road/track/canal path but not the best rolling of course but better than the butcher’s that’s for sure :D.Doing more off road this weekend but I’m pretty please with results so far. How long they will last? Not sure as yet to early too tell :-)
badllamaFree MemberI’ve not had my Enduro 2011 Expert that long but in that time I think it climbs better than my previous Camber 2012 TBH. :-) Even though it comes in at 900 grams heavier.(which is bugger all really)
The S-Works would no doubt be alot lighter so even better IMO
badllamaFree MemberA friend doing masters working out of council offices I go to help her out have a nightmare trying to find the place, one way systems, traffic lights road works etc…
Get into the office she is working out of an hour late so rushing
Me “it’s a **** nightmare round here whoever organizes these roads needs **** shooting!”
Bloke looking at 12 CCTV screens of roads behind her
“That would be me then”
badllamaFree MemberFFS
I’ve product x to get checked by Monday am and just found out order is 5 short after the production op miscounted
So all the kit for that job needs setting upProduct Y is 100% checks which has turned a 45 – 50 min per 100 to 4-5 hours. They are due out Tuesday.
At the same time I’ve products a and b that need checking in the other building so I’m behind with that.
I’ve a pile of paper work a week old on my desk that should have been logged last Friday. My manager is off sick until further notice, the other member of our quality department is on holiday for a week and a bit.
And because the other two are off I’m having to deal with all the bullshit question our C/S department fires at them every day.
So as far as productive goes I’m running at 110% and feel like going no where Fun and Games!
badllamaFree MemberHave look in Asda some times have some decent stuff in :-)
£70.00 if you have your prescription.
badllamaFree MemberNone, there all foooooking idiots trying to kill me when I’m on the bike
badllamaFree MemberLost count of how many couples etc we used to catch in the woods while out nightwatching (after poachers) it’s funny seeing people reactions when you shine 150,000 candle power lamp into the car tell them there on private land at to “go away and play some where else” or words of that effect
badllamaFree MemberBeen up to Rivi with usual riding partner and Greybeard from the forum, 22.9 miles dust ………………I mean DUST on the bike did a quick circuit of Healy Nab as well.
One puncture (me) one OTB (me on San Marino) eek to busy trying to figger out why the front tyre felt the way to it then ROCK! OTB not to bad considering the speed I was going lol
Cracking day though if a little over cast weather wise. :-)badllamaFree Memberuser-removed we sacked off weddings this year as I cannot be arsed with the hassle and with all the part timers (I was one as well but run it as a proper business, insurance, extra gear etc etc ..)just cutting our throats.
You can say people will pay for the better pics and a better “professional photographer” etc but to be honest people these days seem happy enough with crap pictures and saving money.
The last wedding we shot we had a guest behind us taking shots over our shoulders (didn’t not notice at the time as we were working with the guest to get the couple some great shots) then by the end of the day the shots we had arranged etc.. were all over bloody Facebook :roll:A mate I was going to do the wedding for has a guy booked for his and doing the sums I just cannot see (if he’s doing the job properly  ) how he will make money on it…..
I came to the conclusion at the beginning of the year I’ll be better off on my bike enjoying myself :D
badllamaFree MemberI have to agree aracer I cut through one of the local parks on my daily commute and this evening 2 were sat on benches one spotted me said something to the other and she actually looked up from her mobile phone and gave me a pleasant look
Maybe it’s just the sight of bare legs, I was wearing baggies as well? :D
Good job I did not take the shades off she would have realised I was old enough to be her dad :D
badllamaFree MemberYup I’ve had that “where’s your bell?” your bell comment followed be me telling them I rang it 30 yards up the canal path prior to us meeting!
The bloody dog leads get me that allow them to range 20 yards from there bloody owner if they cannot control a dog off the lead they need to keep it on a MUCH shorter one FFS Cannot see the bloody things until it’s nearly too late.
You can usually spot the Muppet’s with them though as in the other hand is a phone welded to their ears :roll:badllamaFree MemberJust bought a 2011 Expert SL looking forward to it arriving now thanks for all your advice people :D
badllamaFree MemberWell I live with it but it’s not me it’s my other half she’s been through 2 lots of Counseling and been perscribed last week tablets for the second time (1st time she did not take them) started taking them and she fell very ill within 24 hours and now has stopped taking them.
For her yoga really helps and exercise, for me getting the **** out of the house on a Sunday and on the bike keeps me sane with coping with her.
I’m sure it’s not good for you who have had it or still have it, BUT for your other half’s (and for me) it’s a nightmare coping with someone with it.
badllamaFree MemberCheers hora may try a trip up there at some point :-)
Rivi next weekend though :D
badllamaFree MemberDont take your best bike IMO. The area is very dodgy but worth the trip if you are in Manchester.
foook that then, I’ve only got 2 and cannot afford to have one “removed” from me
Better than Philips hora?badllamaFree Memberdo you do it midweek?
Possibly be a bit of a nightmare to get to after work though I’m sure Greybeard has a gps map we did when I met with a few of the lads from here the weekend after HTN I’ll have a search this evening for it :-)
badllamaFree Membercheers nosedive for the info.
It’s not so much cost(although there is a limit of course) as space 2 bikes max one is my status 1 the other a trail bike. It’s just I’m finding I’m riding bigger and tecky stuff where I wish I’d had the travel of the Status but the the climb ability of the Camber.
EDIT nice images Tracey :D And thanks for the info!
badllamaFree Memberphilfive totally agree need more UK stuff in it I’m starting to gloss past the stuff in other areas of the world.
In fact after the past couple of issue was thinking of dropping the sub if it carried on it’s nice every so often but more UK stuff required.
philfive I’m down the road if you want showing round let me know here was our last play :-)We had gone out of the park and round and about before doing the video

Love that place :DbadllamaFree MemberHi all I like sticking to Specialized just because I’ve had no bother with previous bikes and my brother who spent a good 12 months in Whistler recommended me the brand as had had no bother with them riding the trails there week in week out. :-)
I was looking at Stumpy Evo, but then my thought’s turn to the Enduro to be fair the LeisureLakes staff member I spoke to raved on about the Stumpy Evo as well in fact he told me 4 of there staff had bought one, this may have been sales talk though :-)
Cheers Tracey for the input what type of riding have you been doing ? Lakes, Cumbria etc..?
badllamaFree MemberYup i was nearly killed by a bus last night as well the guy just did not look in my direction and carried on onto the roundabout disc breaks saved my life yet again!
Even the car opposite looked at me in terror felt like saying you should have been where I was lol
I just stopped rapidly and watched the bus driver not once did he look in my direction too big a **** rush, like everyone else on the roads these days.
badllamaFree MemberI did 14 months 7 miles each direction now moved a bit closer :-) But still ride of course 4 days a week.
But my thoughts are
Choose the best most direct route not via roads (ideally) canals are excellent for this.Buy the best water proofs you can afford £90.00 for over trousers £150.000 decent jacket both worth there wait in gold when it’s not raining……. it’s like a bloody monsoon (I’m based in Greater Manchester what can I say :D )
Buy the best lights you can afford
Buy the VERY best backpack you can afford that will take all your gear for work PLUS you water proof and tool kit.
Have a towel at work plus spare pair of socks + can of deodorant plus the work clothes of course, once you have got them there. On the roads treat every one as though they are trying to kill you e.g your on a main road slow down and expect the prick to pull out from the side road.Or the dick that has just pulled up to open his door in front of you as they will!
Clean the bike once a week (IMPORTANT ONE!) , always carry pump, a couple of extra tubes plus tire levers and multi tool and you will not be so far short of what you need.
And have fun in summer you will get a tan for free, in winter those hot drinks will feel all that much more special LOL
badllamaFree Memberbe sure to buy the x-bars if you have FS with horizontal shock mounted.
Soild well built had no issues withthe 4 bike other than wishing I’d bought the x-bars earler
badllamaFree MemberStopped a while back now 3 years after watching my mother-in-law die of lung cancer you will cough your guts up for a month or two always worse after a shower (steam must loosen it up) but I’d never go back now it would interfere with the biking too much and those images of the last two days of her life will stay with me forever. :(
Fact you will put on weight but you’ll just have to do more ridding to keep it off :-)
badllamaFree MemberEuro nothing bike related all commercial at min for web sites etc..
I’ve a big shoot in planning at momment for a in house commercial job planning alone (as I’m mainly shooting in my own time as it’s just something I want to do that may make a little money) will take the rest of the year the shear logistics of shooting “proper” video is frightening if your coming in it from a single video/ DSLR camera and tripod.
BUT we all start somewhere.
With regards to editing software, Adobe Products are ok, I use Newtek’s Speededit myself. But all you need is software to can make a cut to be honest. The skill is how you cut it :-)Anyone intrested in video should read this Film Directing Shot by Shot: Visualizing from Concept to Screen (Michael Wiese Productions) [Paperback] one of the best £10.00 (currently on Amazon) you will ever spend. :D
badllamaFree MemberLOL Junkyard and D0NK yup character building I videoed most of it as well both my mate and myself had a few beers and laughs over that the other night.
The last little bit from Dow Crag (on the bridleway )back to the car park at the very bottom of Hardknott (by cattle grid) was fun though :D
