Check who’s doing it. Look on gdc website to see if they are registered and if they are on a specialist register. Ask how many implants they have personally placed.

That takes a shotgun blank which should scare them, in fact why use a blank?

One other thing I have seen a few times lately is where both uk and foreign dentists have placed an implant but not pointed out other teeth in a patient’s mouth which have a poor prognosis. You may be happy to pay for one but what happens if you need another couple in the next few years.
Saw one woman recently now sporting a lovely east European implant on one side and a two tooth denture on the other because she can’t afford any more implants.

Foreign can work out cheaper but if you have problems it can be very expensive in the long term.
There are lots of different implants, think torx Allen bolts Tec and if you have one done abroad and have problems at a later date you may struggle to find a uk surgeon to fix it.
Also if you have problems which require extra visits this may bump up the cost, if it all goes pear shaped you will find it near impossible to claim.
So research well but couldn’t advise it.
In saying that there e s plenty of uk dentists I wouldn’t let near me so do your research carefully here too.

Think this is a person a l thing some folk suffer more with cold hands.
I do find if you keep wrist area warm hands don.t feel as cold my merino under layer with thumb loops seems to help.
I have specialized sub zero gloves, normally ok with others but have us e d with liners at minus 12
Above 3 or 4 degrees find these too warm and use various levels of planet x gloves.

Search for free kids games see what you think they would like. If they don’t get used they’re easily deleted. There’s also some apps which are quite cheap not as expensive as games for a console. My wee lad enjoying pirate phonics which was about a pound.

Few points, I’m a dentist btw.
Definitely see an improvement in patients using electric brush.
I use oral b have also used sonicare have found both to be good oral b replacement brush heads prob cheaper.
Get dentist or hygienist to demo how to use it in your mouth, take it with you to next appt. Best brush in world no good if technique is poor. If your dentist won’t do this you need a new dentist.
Flossing can cause a lot of damage if done incorrectly. Interproximal brushes such as tepe can be easier to use. Have seen some good results with the waterpik flosser. Again it would be best to ask your dentist or hygienist what they recommend for your teeth and make sure they demo in your mouth. Differently spaced teeth require different tools and techniques so best if they advise individually. For example I get a lot of patients to floss front teeth and use inter brushes on back teeth.

Yes you can leave it on permanently and yes fine this time of year. What I meant was that end of summer when heating been off for months and you get a chilly evening its not a quick fix.
Those evenings I just throw a few logs in the woodburner

    We have water.
Nice warm feet on a tiled floor.
Bit like storage heater, takes hour or 2 to warm up so need to plan when you want it on, not like a radiator where you come back in the evening and want near instant heat.

Wouldn’t consider electric think there is more to go wrong, more expensive to run.

also heard a funny story about a farmers wife who when having the tank dipped told the customs officer that her husband always put the fuel in the tank in the boot

Was told that red would do no harm to an engine.
In fact was told in parts of NI it was safer to use red as so much of the fuel was laundered to remove the dye with strong chemicals and it was these which damaged the engine.

I have the version that mounts to a workbench and it has been fine.
Broke first one by overtightening but it was replaced for free.
Bit shaky with heavier mtb in it but fine with road bike and my 22lb hardtail
