A friends parents live next to Michelle thorne and have seen her filming in her garden numerous times. Ironically they live on Seymour (geddit?) road. Cathy Barry also lives nearby and lives on Cock road – no duff.

how many people are “bottoming out” there 100mm forks on a regular basis?

Well I got max travel out of my 150mm fork on an XC ride in the mendips, so yeah riding the same as I was I’d have easily bottomed out a 100mm fork.
For all of the riding I do; natural and TCs, you don’t NEED any suspension but it makes it a lot more fun IMHO.
Buying a bicycle to “look tough”? Really?

It’s because the mags say so.
18 months ago, they were saying things like “140mm is the sweet spot for UK trails”. Now they’re saying “you don’t need much more than 120mm for UK trails”. Both comments are bawlacks, it’s about getting us all buying new bikes.

In addition, canadians IME were obscenely friendly and helpful but not in the false sense. A couple of shops invited me to ride with them also. I’ve only been once and I think I miss the place. If there is a way for me to go permanently, I will do it.

Trail maps are available in many places from the LBS’. Trails are IME well signed. If you ride alone (I did), let someone know where you’re going and take your phone. Try posting on NSMB for ride buddies.
Don’t miss out Squamish from any of your plans. Enjoy, if I were you I’d marry the GF sharpish and wouldn’t come back.

Using steriods is pretty shamefull IMO. That’s why very few like to admit to it.
Mainly used by people who want everyone to be impressed by their buffness; pretty pathetic.
It should quite rightfully be banned from every physical competition as it becomes more about who is more technically adept at taking drugs than talent/physical prowess. It’s comparable with having motors hidden in seat tubes.
Also, they do not increase or decrease the size of your jake, but do shrink the bowlacks.

I’ve had a pair of Royal racing mercury gloves for 2 weeks, and the velcro tab has come unglued already. Still usable but very disappointing; won’t be buying any royal again.

you’ve never been to the mountain bike capital of the world then?

Ooh, ooh, I have, I have. And you’re correct, some of the signs in Canada were in french and english.

Either of those bikes will be fine. Buy whichever you like the most.
If it’s in good nick, I’d say the meta and spend the xtra £150 on some bling (seat dropper?). AFAIK there were no cracking problems with the early metas.

That’s a real shame. I always take time for a chinwag with those two.
I think that the closure of penhydd has hit them pretty hard, a lot of peeps park up at pontrhydyfen (free) to ride the wall trail. The food at the cafe isn’t great either which would’nt help.

Seriously conflicted as I know the new endo will be a serious singletrack ripper but the chilcotin would be so versatile.

Either the new Knolly endorphin or the Knolly Chilcotin.
I have an endo currently but I’m facing up to the fact that ot’s just a little too small for me :(
I wouldn’t even be considering parting with it otherwise, it is ace hence looking at another Knolly. Mind you, I like the new rocky mountain slayer, the mojo HD and SC nomadC.

I likes it. Maybe Ti is a little wasted on FS bikes, but I like the thought of not worring about chips and scratches. Bet it’s light too.

Surely nobodys offended by the use of the word “gay”?
It’s quite a PC word AFAIK.
I think the suggestion that gays lack courage/are unfashionable/effeminate (ie wearing SPDs) is the part to get offended by. If you can be bothered to.

It always pays to shop around (as we know). The classifieds have provided me with 2011 fox float 36s, joplin 4, XTR etc at a fraction of the RRP all very nearly new. Even my frame was brand new “clearance”. I’m just patient and flexible with what I want/buy. Of my whole bike, I think the only thing I paid full RRP for was the saddle.
Not showing off, just demonstrating that if you are happy to wait and look around there are deals out there!

Bath is nice. There’s a lot of snobby asshats there though. A bit like Clifton in that respect.
