    according to the telegraph;

Those aspects, and some fine individual performances, notably from Stephen Ferris, Andrew Sheridan and Joe Worsley, before he tired, were positives which the Lions can take away from Saturday’s work.

    and

Andy Powell was the worst culprit. He seems to regard rugby exclusively as a macho contest and his selfishness led to pile-ups and turnovers which hurt the Lions throughout the game.

It would seem that the writers know nothing…..

I went for the first time 2000 odd, I think albeit in an cough “official” cough capacity (was my mates who nearly caused a diplomatic incident by kicking down some of the “wall” outside the croat govt HQ). Zagreb was great and I have been back as a civvy twice, once to Opatija which was nice and lively but more of an older persons hol, and more recently to Bol, Brac which is immense-quite laid back and full to the rafters with things to do, diving, canoeing, windsurfing and apparently some biking. I spotted the windsurfing instructors on some sweet foes etc. I’m going back in July and wondering if i should take my bike. Plitvice is a once in a lifetime thing and you will never see anything so beautiful.

A boys own film should be all about heroics, action, danger and adventure. I agree with rudeboy; Heroes of Telemark would take some beating. True story, too.
After that, the bourne films and Indiana Jones would be very boys own.

some lovely PAs, silentsparks and stugus’ are really nice and stugus’ picture really captures the colour of the frame well.
Mike, chucking in with Howies would be a fantastic idea, would please the tree huggers and give a quality shirt…..I’d rather pay a bit more for something that would last.
Bellorophon, I don’t think it’s particularly light but I’ve learnt already that (IMO) a comfortable, well maintained, sized and thought out bike pedals better than a slightly lighter one usually. My Intense has nearly the exact same spec and I was surprised that I prefered it uphill to my old supernormal! Plus I’m 14 odd stone so a pound here or there won’t make much difference.

    Well done mate,
I have Fox Van R’s on mine. Cheap, not too heavy and I wouldn’t know what to do with any more adjustment!
I’m also in Bristol and you’re welcome to a tester.

An orange t-shirt with the DB logo in black would be sweeeeet.

Don’t get rid of the orange, you’re spot on it looks great with black.
I’m even thinking of getting the Intense done a similar colour as the paints so poor.

    Fair enough, Alpin.
I was exitedly building this bike and put the discs on the wrong way.
A “by the way” type post would have sufficed.
Anyway, some luvverly PAs’ on display!
    Bellerophon,
I got the frame and forks offof some very nice people on here.
    The rest;
Tech M4s (went on Intense 5.5) sdwapped with previous M4s
    XT shifters & mechs
XT Chainset (went on intense)swapped with SLX
    Hoops with 5.1s
    Thomson stem and post
    RF Atlas bars
    Fizik gobi
All from LBS who price matched Merlin witha 10% charge to cover C2W costs, which I think is very fair
    So, £250 for frame and forks and £1100 less 40% = £660
    Total £910 (odd)
Bloody nice bike for that much,
BTW Mike, when are these DB t shirts coming out?
The websites been promising for too long now!

Alpin, thanks for pointing that out in such a nice way.
Do you get punched a lot? Going by your pic, you’re definately not a tough bastard but your tone is one of superiority.
    So, do you?

Is it a split type AC unit? Mitsubishi or Daikin type thing?
It’s probably an Inverter driven unit and so should only run the compressor at whatever speed it needs to. Never the less, I would only turn it on when required (perhaps operate the timeclock). If you are to maintain it yourself, make sure that you clean the outdoor unit heat exchanger coil.
Craggyjim, I’m afraid you’re wrong refrigerators are cooling only and so are not heat pumps unless they have a reverse cycle defrost. Heat pumps are capable of heating and cooling by reversing the refrigeration cycle.

Fair enough mate, I’ve always preferred the ‘burbs. It’s quiter with fewer drunks. I do agree with your comment about new housing estates though, but as they go EG is one of the better ones in Briz.
Personally, i find the cliftonites etc a bunch of snobs, I just couldn’t bare being surrounded by them.
Completely depends what you want, quiet suburb-EG.
    Central, lively hussle and bussle-LA.
Tootall, if you want any help with EG mail me at ndobbsieATmsnDOTcom.

Emersons is not a sh*thole, it’s not lovely but theres plenty of money there and the local school is among the best in Bristol (I don’t live on the estate BTW).
I’m yet to find any local riding and Long Ashton is close to Ashton court (but that’s crap, I never ride there).
Mangotsfield is also close to motorways(M4 and M5) and the ring road.
There is a dedicated cycle lane which runs through mangotsfield and goes about as far as Filton Abbey Wood (MOD), so it’s quite a safe commute (I do it often). I’d probably avoid bradley stoke AKA Sadly broke.
I think Mangotsfield is quite a pleasant place, no gangs of kids, graffiti etc. Plenty of greenery nearby. If you have a choice, try to move into the village rather than EG, there’s plenty of character.
Oh, takes me 40 odd mins to reach cwmcarn and 1hr15 to reach Afan. I go to one of these every weekend.

Lions in 2001 lost 2,1 to australia

So we did, still not good.
    Still, Powell? awwwww.

    I can’t believe we’re struggling at 8.
I think they were right not to pick Easter though, I think he’s lazy.
We (eng) haven’t had a good 8 since dally.
    What about R Jones?
I don’t think Powell is physical enough, clever enough or reliable enough.
Shame Popham pissed Gatland off really.

    We lost that tour 3-0.
Can’t blame that on one player.

I have never said that BOD is not world class, but that he was unproven at the highest level.
Turns out he’s done more than I thought including 2 wins over the boks and the aussies. He’s not been part of a good lions tour but not many have
Never let it be said that I won’t admit when I’m wrong, and on this occasion, I was wrong.
I’m not wrong about Powell though. :P

    Powell?
Is that your attempt at sarcasm?
M and S Williams, fair enough.
And you think Wors is bad? Powell will get destroyed by the saffas

SW can run. OK we get it. Nearly as well as jason robinson.

Sorry TJ, we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
I think he does a particular and important job very well, that may make him one dimensional in some peoples eyes, I just think (as a back rower) that he’s a good weapon to have. Simple no-nonsense violence has its place.

He earned universal acclaim for that performance. Oh, and he put 2 players out of the game, Roberts and Powell. One of the welsh pundits joked that if Roberts opened his kit bag, Worseley would probably pop out!
Any joy on the fantasy lions yet anyone, I can’t find anything.

    TJ,
I think that he did exactly what he was told to do.
Oh, and it looks like he did win the man of the match, but what do they know.

If you think that any part of wors was destroyed in that game, you’re deluded. Didn’t he get man of match for that one?

I think we’ll be happy to have the grizzled 30 somethings when the pups have been hammered mate. Wors should not play at 7 though, you’re right about that. I’m chuffed for the likes of Shaw and Quinlan, a lions tour is a swansong and a half!
Has anybody found a fantasy lions league? If so, anyone fancy it? Team name same as user name? STW league?

    Fair enough TJ,
I do like a healthy debate, and Rugby is close to my heart.
For what it’s worth, I’m 1/2 Irish (dad) 1/2 eng (obviously), I work in Cardiff and go to wales pretty much every weekend riding!
I’d like another flyhalf, what with Burger on the prowl.
The test 15 is going to be the interesting bit, you thought people are squabbling now!

    backhander

Wors isn’t that bad going forward, no vision, no pass but a strong powerful player, which I have a feeling is what we’re going to need especially against the likes of Burger.
Sheridan made more yards that any other loosehead in the 6N. He doesn’t see enough crash ball. Dally was quite clearly the 8 of his era, but I wish Parise was english he’s as good as any including Collins.

    backhander

I admit I’m being petty as I think BOD is a fantastic player, the lines he runs are genius but (and it’s no fault of his) he’s not had the opportunity to really shine on the world stage due to a lack of success from the irish team (again 6N aside). I feel a bit sorry for Henson, he’s suffering form JW syndrome a bit and the injuries seem to be getting him down. Maybe it’s time for a change (premiership please?!?!?!).

No mate, I’ve invited you to enlighten me and been offered 3 lions games.
    BODs accolades read 6N, 6N, 6N.
Worseley shit? Made Powell look like an amateur recently.
