I liked the Beer and biking article and overall I like the mag.
However, if you're going to have an interview edition might I suggest that interesting characters from the industry are selected?
Who really enjoyed the interview with the WTB guy, or the bike cleaner chemical dude? Seriously boring stuff.
Give us the shaun palmers, the jeff wotsisname from intense or rik the welder. Get rid of Ferrino, his colleague Joe Graney sounds like much more fun.

If an attractive female pats your arse, it's OK.
If Ton headbuts your your nose flat, it's assault.
Of course there are degrees of severity.

For every British soldier killed, 50-100 Taliban have been killed

I hope that's true. It's certainly cheered me up, just a shame we have to lose any.

But obsenely expensive for any colour other than their pretty disgusting standard ones. Go to a motorcycle sprayer.
Argos have quoted me over £200 for a FS bike.

    I love that colour.

    Tootall,
RAF bickering aside, I must be a matter of minutes away from you.
If you ever want to join me on a trip to afan or cwmcarn, let me know (as long as you could put up with an ex army commando with a chip!).
you could probably fill half hour on the common, the kids did have some small dirt jumps there.

mc, soft start and Inverter driven scroll compressors. No more contactors banging in. I have seen some in action and would not regard them as intrusive by any stretch.

It never goes down well in court when you headbut someone.

That is the funniest thing I've ever read on STW. Effing brilliant.

Ton ,you did the right thing. He ensured violence when he entered into your personal space. There's only ever one outcome if you do that.

Hey Smudge, your work is right up my alley. I shall peruse your website (it's very good BTW). I work for the largest firm of building engineering consultants going (begins with "A"). I have a background in HVAC and refrigeration systems.

I see your point ziggy, but I know that some shops will look at a bike that they've supplied gone wrong and say "you've messed with this mate, it didn't leave here like that".
What would people think if nothing was available to buy on tinterwebnet, no flights, no clothes, no cars, no bikes or parts etc. We would all be paying full RRP for the same items and be slaves to our LBS' again. Would this be welcomed? I suppose it depends how good/fair your LBS is.

With COPs of ~3.5, air source is ~350% efficent (well its not but those are fair figures for comparison). If you could combine this with under floor heating then you're on a winner IMO.
The problem is that gas is cheaper than electricity at the moment despite the far better efficiency, environmental friendlyness etc, heat pumps can be more expensive than gas alternatives.
*this is VERY important* make sure when sizing an AS heat pump that it will deliver the heat duty that you require on the coldest day of the year.

Bit early to be drinking, isn't it Juan?
WTF has this got to do with buying commercial products? Do you think that LBS' are charities? Your political opinions are yours but we are not socialists and we are capitalists. That is life I'm afraid, however there are still some demi-socialist countries around which you are welcome to inhabit. Edit; may I recommend North Korea?

Juan, why???? What is your problem?
When entering into a commercial agreement with another party who is attempting to make as much profit as possible, I will endeavor to get the best deal. What could possibly be wrong with that?

i have no money invested in any bike shop and i have no commission to be gained from selling any brand at all

I currently have and have had alot of stock on end of season clearance

Have I missed something? Do you have a bike shop or not?
This warranty/H&S angle is total total crap. It's price fixing.
Trek are protecting their dealers profits. Nothing wrong with that, but be honest about it. The only loser in this will be the consumer. Does anyone disagree with that?
Good job you edited that lengthy reply, eh Trail rat? :D

^^^what smudger said. Terribly expensive running and as we all know econ 7 and 10 are carp.

you are heating water to heat the house?????

Thats pretty much what we all do.
If you don't have gas, I would recommend a heat pump solution probably air source such as ecodan etc.

Could you fit W2 in? If you can, do. If you can kick the arse out of it, fit Penhydd in the middle! it's a real scream.
Sorry CFH, theres no way I would waste the time on July/skyline. Climbing on forest roads is bad enough, but descending? that just upsets me. :D

Whether we like it or not, the internet has revolutionised the way we shop. The free market to which we abide encourages entrepreneurship(sp?!) and rightly so. If a bike shop needs the custom enough to cut his margins, then he should be free to. Alternatively, he may wish to operate the quantity of sales opposed to the quality (profit). LBS will always do business for repairs, spares etc. I work hard for my money and want to keep as much for me as I can. Theres no chance in hell I would buy a trek at full RRP when I could get a Specialized at a discount online getting more for my money. That would be daft.

    backhander
    Free Member

I like the free market principle.
Whoever will sell me what I want cheapest (all other things being equal) will get the sale. Do we really want the manufacturers to effectively abolish the end of season sale?
Companies like CRC and Merlin are business' too.

    backhander

This is precisely why I'll never own one. Well that and the Bontrager kit.
    mrmichaelwright,

It also means that you don't get vast swathes of heavily discounted bikes/frames from last years stock suddenly appearing (i bought my Demo 9 half price) and stifling sales of newer models.

how does this help us as consumers? Or don't we matter?

Sorry, I meant no offence at the "north wales" bit!
Mid wales, I suppose. I was hoping for something a little closer as I may wish to make it a regular thing. A 6 hour round trip is too much I'm afraid.

Cheers forest freeride looks perfect but is bloody miles away, pretty much north wales. Shame.

Skills training for Drops, Jumps etc? Nothing massive on the jumps side really. Would like some instruction in various areas really.

Sorry that came out wrong, I meant to say that you are from England (not necessarily English). And Britain and the UK. But England still.

Part of England but I just don't relate much to the image of England

That's your perception and not reality. You are English.
My family has a military background (army, navy but no RAF thank god).
Dads from Belfast (NI father, Scots Mother) and considers himself very British, my mums English.
I'm whatever I am, and as far as I'm concerned from the UK.
I believe that I would be eligible to play sports for scotland?, England or NI. But I won't. Cos I'm shit.
