This was the future mrs BH’s concession as she is a little bit god squad but is happy to be getting married having thought it may never happen.
To me; marriage means a happy OH, a bit of paper, a ring and a holiday. I’m not being flippant, there is very little as important to me as the future mrs BH’s happiness.

I can enthusiastically recommend beers from the Cotswold spring brewery. It’s in codrington and the Rose, codrington codger and honey bear is lovely. Go up there and get some proper cask ale in a bag.

Just ordered some brakes last night, no news so far. I ordered some wheels from cyclestore shortly after which are already on the way despite the 7-14 day stated lead time. I’ll let you know if/when the brakes arrive.

Test ride as many as you can, the yeti 5s are nice and so are the trek fuels (and have various price options), canyons if you want maximum value. Different fs designs behave in very different ways so test a few to see which you prefer.

If you live in the wilds of scotland, the lakes or snowdon you’re not going to appreciate TCs as much as those who live in a major city in england.
The man made argument is a bit daft though, trail builders can make some brilliant stuff be it in your local woods or a forest (most of the trails I rode in BC were man made). My most disappointing rides have all been exploration rides which have consisted of flat bridleways running through fields and/or including lots of road sections.
There was a great article in Dirt a month or so back which pretty much summed up trail centres, written by a brit who had lived in BC for a few years.

Pretty good value IF you have hydraulic brakes.

Having read up a bit, it seems that it would be the interests of the retailer to refund the deposit anyway as the distance selling regs give the customer 7 days to return the item(s) once delivered.
There would be little point in going through with arguing over the deposit when you’re going to have to refund anyway.
The deposit was given in good faith with no statement of “non refundable”.
It’s not even the retailers fault, they’ve been really good their supplier is not holding sufficient stock which has messed them up. They’ve just been slow to reply to emails (all of a sudden) since the refund was requested.
It also seems that there could be sufficient grounds for refund of deposit if the delivery times are not acceptable.

Bad ass is a great shop, very helpful. They certainly know what they’re talking about.

I go through gloves at an alarming rate.
I’ve killed endura’s and royal’s in a matter of weeks.
The Dakines stood up OK but not the comfiest, the best by far have been the Fox ones*. I’ll only buy Fox ones now, comfy and durable.
Unfortunately I lost my last pair but will go buy the attacks now.
